Throwing caution to the wind

Because they did something drastic

They gave me literal proof they have a time-machine

So I must do something equally drastic and cooperate with them

Yesterday, I dropped back into this chair after walking outside to the nearby supermarket

At noon, the tv-news channel KREM 2 came on

They made specific note of how treacherous are the sidewalks.

That tv-studio is nearby where I now live

I have made it a point to note that I have what I think is credible proof that for years, KREM 2 channel news is being fed information that could come only from my so-called 'time-traveler effect'

I've tried questioning them directly but they don't know anything. So I guess it's just one person that can somehow use some sort of tradecraft to manipulate them

None of the people there know anything about it and have nothing important to say to me

I have nothing to say to them directly

I don't like doing this

I was walking outside yesterday and I thought to myself that the only way to get me back to South Carolina is if I had an automobile. Because I sure would not like to have to drive in that stuff.

Fire Ops 101 gave me new found respect for the Spokane Firefighters and insight into a job that most people never get!

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

(from internet transcript)

SPOCK: Trainees ...to the briefing room.

TANNOY VOICE: Maintenance Crew! Report to the bridge simulator.

Admiral KIRK: Physician, heal thyself.

McCOY: Is that's all you gotta to say? What about my performance?

KIRK: I'm not a drama critic. ...Well, Mister Saavik, are you going to stay with the sinking ship?

SAAVIK: Permission to speak candidly, sir?

KIRK: Granted.

SAAVIK: I don't believe this was a fair test of my command abilities.

KIRK: And why not?

SAAVIK: Because ...there was no way to win.

KIRK: A no-win situation is a possibility every commander may face. Has that never occurred to you?

The heavy wind was blasting embers from the fire horizontally across my bedroom window

The sound of propane-tanks exploding, I guess, is what woke me up

The sounds of grinding confirmed to me later that the fire-department was already there working on it

I could see towering flames rising from the structure

Most of the fire trucks rolled up later. Maybe 15 minutes later or more

Took me a while, a few minutes, longer than I wanted to in that situation, to get fully dressed for the cold and by the time I had walked outside and away from my building and the choking smoke, the fire trucks quietly rolled up. I walked farther away and could still see flames rising above the structure

They quickly knocked it down but it seemed to take out multiple units of the garage a few units upwind from mine

Walking back to my apartment from nearby the scene, when I felt it was safe to return to my apartment ("Stay safe", the 911 dispatcher told me, along with they already had several calls about it) I gave a group of firefighters the "thumps up" and "Thanks a lot". Thoughts formed in my conscious mind that the one guy had been upbraiding the other two over some detail he was displeased with and one of those spoke a couple words but other than that I heard nothing. It was just the body language and that the one guy wanted to make an argument about their performance. I'm noting that only because of the context
