Fairly certain I had noted this before, did not really focus on it.
After my blog-post immediately prior, looking around at the title on the AppleTV streaming-video channel, decided to view at least the first episode. I have seen many episodes of the "For All Mankind" streaming-video series, not all.
These sort of stories I think of as a "silo" in the popular science-fiction genre of the "multiple universe"
None of that stuff actually exists. It emerges with non-human technology that is directed at an extant human mind, a human that is selected for the process, which is none of you UFO-bunkers.
This post is about me viewing today for the first time the 2026 "Star City". The series is still in-progress. The final episode of season 1 is 07/10/2026, I just read on the Wikipedia page.
Having finished the entire video, there is a critical element I did not hear explained.

Over years now at this blog. Still counting.
Over 20 years ago and it all started because I wanted to get back into my after-work hobby as a competitor racing against the clock of Ironman triathlon. That was all I wanted. Everything I have done all those years, over 20 years ago, was that. Over 16000 blog-posts here later, countless other social-media posts, that was all I wanted. And I know now that is gone for me now forever.

The 1918–1920 flu pandemic, also known as the Great Influenza epidemic or by the misleading name Spanish flu, was an exceptionally deadly global influenza pandemic caused by the H1N1 subtype of the influenza A virus. The earliest probable cases were documented in March 1918 in Haskell County, Kansas, United States, with further cases recorded in France, Germany and the United Kingdom in April. Two years later, nearly a third of the global population, or an estimated 500 million people, had been infected. Estimates of deaths range from 17 million to 50 million, and possibly as high as 100 million, making it one of the deadliest pandemics in history.
The pandemic broke out near the end of World War I, when wartime censors in the belligerent countries suppressed bad news to maintain morale, but newspapers freely reported the outbreak in neutral Spain, creating a misleading impression of Spain as the epicenter and leading to the disease being known as Spanish flu.
The outbreak did not originate in Spain, but reporting did, due to wartime censorship in belligerent nations. Spain was a neutral country unconcerned with appearances of combat readiness, and without a wartime propaganda machine to prop up morale, so its newspapers freely reported epidemic effects, making Spain the apparent locus of the epidemic. The censorship was so effective that Spain's health officials were unaware its neighboring countries were similarly affected. In an October 1918 "Madrid Letter" to the Journal of the American Medical Association, a Spanish official protested, "we were surprised to learn that the disease was making ravages in other countries, and that people there were calling it the 'Spanish grip'. And wherefore Spanish? ...this epidemic was not born in Spain, and this should be recorded as a historic vindication."

I had forgotten it and all the other sleeping dreams from the last time I was sleeping until just now before making this post. I don't recall the other many sleeping dreams I woke from but I do remember one. I was wearing a US Marine Corps uniform and that is very unusual for a sleeping dream. I have written before over several years about seeing myself wearing a US Marine Corps uniform but as best I can now recall here sitting here at my desk there have been only two sleeping dreams featuring me wearing a US Marine Corps uniform. And one of those occurrences would have been this past day.
Those of you following along at home remember what I wrote and what I still believe - that I have no actual direct memory - no practical memory in my conscious mind of any service in the United States Marine Corps.
Everything I write here that is not consistent with my factual memory is just the thoughts in my mind.
The dream this past day is something that I can now recall only of an actor I have seen before in film and television. He is that guy who recruits "Cooper Hawkes" in that "Space: Above and Beyond" episode I have referenced here many times.
The sleeping dream I had the past day doesn't seem connected to anything I have seen him in before on television or movie.
There is something that I can almost remember about that dream but just cannot remember.
Well, the operative detail is that I could not wear my US Marine Corps uniform because of what he did. I had to be somewhere. A duty assignment or something that is so damned frustratingly elusive in my mind.
He had punched me in the chest I vaguely recall. The impact of his fist wasn't that hard but he hit an object adorning my olive-colored uniformed shirt and there was an area obviously soaked with blood and I wasn't going to be able to go anywhere looking that way.
I write about it now only because of how that was one time so infrequent seeing myself wearing a US Marine Corps uniform in a sleeping dream. Now I just remember a possible third time. That time I saw myself wearing my US Navy Cross [Navy Cross medal for valor in combat with legitimate official authority] and working in an office building chasing down a person stealing classified documents. Now I just recall another time I wrote about wearing that same medal in an elevator and that person saying he was surprised "they" let me wear it and me saying in response I was proud of my service in Bosnia.

I woke up the other morning thinking about the song “New Moon On Monday” from that Duran Duran album, “Seven and the Ragged Tiger.” I was thinking over and over that there was some sounds in that song that sounded like mortar rounds exploding, which led me to thoughts of the Vietnam War. So I listened to the track a few times and I decided that it is the sound of jets flying over someone and then sounds of anti-aircraft machine guns, and then the sounds of explosions, possibly from bombs dropped from the jets. At 03:04 on my player during the song, there is a distinct sound of what sounds like an explosion and I associate that with a bomb being dropped from one of those jets. I wonder if those are sound I recorded from the ground during the Falklands War, which was the year before that album released. Or maybe I was in Afghanistan fighting with our allies there. I am quite certain I was fighting with the mujahdeen in Afghanistan as my U.S. military assignment, but I can’t remember a lot of details yet. The sounds on that “New Moon On Monday” track aren’t too realistic, but they are recognizable, and I wonder if I modified the real sounds I recorded to make them less recognizable, or they were sounds I reproduced with instruments. I have been wondering if this represents me standing there at night with the Moon overhead, knowing I had been out there, and pondering the absurdity of war as a battle raged around me. I would ponder many times of how there are important fights, but I would also wonder……..I can’t remember how I want to finish that sentence.
I examined the release date for that song and I think it points to the first time I flew a fighter jet on 5/1/67. Going back 5933 days, inclusive, from the release date was 8/25/67. That was 3 months, 3 weeks, 3 days, after 5/1/67.
