Drain the swamp
From Wikipedia
Drain the swamp is a phrase which has frequently been used by politicians since the 1980s and in the U.S. often refers to reducing the influence of special interests and lobbyists. The phrase can allude to the physical draining of swamps which is conducted to keep mosquito populations low in order to combat malaria, prevalent during the time in Washington, D.C., on supposed swampy grounds.
Examples
Ronald Reagan, who called to "drain the swamp" of bureaucracy in the federal government in 1983 when commissioning the Grace Commission.
Donald Trump to describe his plan to fix problems in the federal government. In the three weeks before the 2016 election, he tweeted "Drain the swamp" 79 times, usually as a hashtag, and he tweeted the word "swamp" another 75 times in the four years following that election.

Section 1. Purpose and Policy. Over the past decade, Americans have witnessed a concerted and widespread effort to rewrite our Nation's history, replacing objective facts with a distorted narrative driven by ideology rather than truth. This revisionist movement seeks to undermine the remarkable achievements of the United States by casting its founding principles and historical milestones in a negative light. Under this historical revision, our Nation's unparalleled legacy of advancing liberty, individual rights, and human happiness is reconstructed as inherently racist, sexist, oppressive, or otherwise irredeemably flawed. An anonymous affidavit by "Tiffany Doe" said that Epstein had paid her directly from 1991 to 2000 "to attract adolescent women" to parties at his mansion (Herbert N. Straus House). In the summer of 1994, she lured a minor who expressed interest in modeling. In her affidavit, she said that both "Mr. Trump and Mr. Epstein were advised that she was 13 years old. I personally witnessed four sexual encounters" between Trump and the 13-year-old. In one of the alleged incidents, a 12-year-old girl was simultaneously victimized, and in another, Trump continued assaulting the 13-year-old "despite her pleas to stop". She said that Epstein likewise attempted to rape the 13-year-old on two occasions that she witnessed or learned of. "Tiffany Doe" said she personally witnessed both Trump and Epstein threaten to kill the 13-year-old if she were to tell anyone what had happened and that Trump further warned the victim that he was "capable of having her whole family killed". She signed the affidavit in 2016.
