KIRKLAND - Paul Allen missed a historic moment with the Seattle Seahawks because he had more important things to do.
On the day Allen's representatives exercised an option to buy the Seahawks and began a marketing campaign to regain fans, the new owner was absent from a ceremony that had all the pomp of a peace-treaty signing.
The Mercer Island billionaire left yesterday's festivities to Gov. Gary Locke, King County Executive Ron Sims and more than a dozen other state and local dignitaries, whose simpatico emotions turned the affair at the Seahawk training facility into a lovefest.
While the politicos congratulated each other and anyone else who played a role in helping keep the team in Seattle, Allen was in England watching tennis pal Monica Seles, who was upset yesterday at Wimbledon.

On a mission of exploration, Kirk destroys a warning buoy at the edge of space controlled by a mysterious alien race. In response, the Enterprise is met by an extremely powerful ship that plans on destroying the Enterprise. Kirk bluffs his way out of this destruction by letting the aliens think that if the Enterprise is destroyed that they will also be destroyed by the fallacious Corbomite device. A subsection of the alien ship, the Fesarius (captained by the fierce looking Balok), then takes the Enterprise in tow. After presumably disabling the Fasarius, Kirk then returns to aid the seemingly hostile aliens. However, the alien's hostile nature (as well as the appearance) is a ruse to test the character of the humans, and Kirk has passed the test.

I just woke up a few minutes ago from I guess about 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I still feel exhausted. I am now wondering of the series of scenes and images in one dream was actually a representation of my flight into space as the commander of the first space shuttle launch.

There dream, though, seemed to be set on the USS Oliver Hazard Perry FFG-7. I am not certain how I linked that setting to FFG-7 but I am certain I was on a FFG-7 class ship and the notion lingers in my mind that it was the FFG-7.
In a somewhat confusing part, I walked out of a room with two people in it, where a junior person was getting a medal, for someone reason, as I was looking on, onto the weatherdeck. The person who had got the medal, which was a medal I can visualize but that I do not recognize, followed out onto the deck, I think. I can still visualize the calm blue water and also looking out onto the shore and the sky line of some city we were near but that I cannot recognize either after waking up. I do remember that I commented to the other person that I enjoyed being back out to sea, and I feel compelled to note that I might have said to him that I enjoyed especially being out to sea when we we just floating around, as we were then. Then, for some strange reason, I was over the edge of the deck and I was hanging onto the low railing, trying to keep myself from falling over into the water. But the gravity was strange and that might be why that part seems weird, in
retrospect of the dream. I almost want to say that my feet were drifting upwards instead of downwards towards the ocean. I cannot remember what happened next. On one hand, it seems understand that I was hanging onto that railing but I am also somewhat baffled, as I ponder the dream after waking up, why I was even hanging from that railing in the first place.
In another dream sequence, I was on small boat and that sequence is, I think, connected to that first sequence about FFG-7. It seems we had taken a small boat closer to shore but I cannot remember any details to support that notion. I can still visualize some of the scenery but I do not understand it all very well. I do remember another small boat passing us by and I am quite certain that Camilla, Duchess of York, was on it. There is some other detail associated with that observation that I cannot now remember. I can remember there were other people on the boat with her and I assume Prince Charles was there also. Back on my boat, I was talking about some kind of cove that was in the lake or ocean we were on and there seemed to be something important about that cove, in that I wanted to go in there but I don't think we did in that dream. I remember I was trying to describe certain details of that cove to the other person as they would see it while
approaching the cove. At another point, I told someone that I could not remember when I learned to swim. I made some other comments on that topic that I do not remember now.
I also remember something, vaguely, about Iceland, maybe. Something related to flying aircraft. Perhaps I was stationed at some point as a pilot in Iceland. I remember hearing some comments about someone's skills as an aircraft pilot. I remember something about looking at an aircraft runway and seeing the remains of the de-icer material they use. This all seemed to happen as I was sitting on the boat and I could actually see those other locations, such as the runway and the office, while I was in another far away location. That might be the result of remembering a past experience while having a dream. Something like that. A memory within a memory. I also remember sitting there in that boat that I was holding some kind of award plaque but I cannot remember what was writting on that award plaque. I think the award plaque had been given to Jim Lovell but I am not certain what that means. I can still visualize certain words on it but I cannot remember enough
to describe those words. I remember that some letters were missing in the words.

A new television ad campaign marks the start of Paul Allen's push for public support to tear down the Kingdome and build a $402 million stadium for the Seahawks.
To distinguish his stadium from the one the Mariners are building, Allen this week began running a 30-second TV spot in Seattle, Spokane and Yakima, touting his promise to buy the Seahawks while also taking responsibility for any cost overruns.
The ad - coming just days after a citizens task force announced its proposal to finance a new football stadium - will run through Sunday.
"We're on a short fuse between now and a May or June election," said Bert Kolde, Football Northwest vice chairman. "We do need to start doing some of the groundwork."
The television ad, titled "Facts," is intended to emphasize Allen's commitment to buy the Hawks. The Mercer Island billionaire paid about $20 million in April for a 15-month option to buy the team from California developer Ken Behring. He has until July 1 to decide.
In the ad, which began to air Sunday, an announcer points out that Allen has promised to cap public spending, to raise $100 million in private money for the project and to put the package before voters.

Kingdome
The Kingdome was an indoor sports and entertainment arena owned and operated by King County, Washington. The Kingdome received its nickname from King County,[1] and was officially known as the King County Domed Stadium and often called the Dome. Before its destruction it was located at the west end of Seattle's Industrial District, just south of Pioneer Square. The building was completed in 1976 on reclaimed tideflat land formerly occupied by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway's freight yards. It served as home to the Seattle Mariners baseball team, the Seattle Seahawks American football team, and the Seattle SuperSonics basketball team for several years. Gemini 12 was the tenth and final flight of the Gemini series, which bridged the Mercury and Apollo programs. This mission, carrying astronauts Jim Lovell and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, was scheduled to perform rendezvous and docking with the Agena target vehicle, to conduct three ExtraVehicular Activity (EVA) operations, to conduct a tethered stationkeeping exercise, to perform docked maneuvers using the Agena propulsion system to change orbit, and demonstrate an automatic reentry.
The first standup EVA took place with the hatch opening at 11:15 a.m. EST (19:29 GET) on 12 November and Aldrin standing on his seat with his upper body out of the hatch. The EVA lasted 2 hours 29 minutes during which Aldrin mounted a camera to the side of the spacecraft and collected a micrometeorite experiment, with the hatch closing at 1:44 p.m. On 13 November at 7:16 a.m. the crew reported little or no thrust was available from two of the maneuvering thrusters. At 10:34 a.m. (42:48 GET) the hatch was opened for the second EVA. Aldrin was outside the spacecraft at 10:38, attached to a 9 meter umbilical cord. He first worked in the hatch and nose area, and then moved along a handrail he had installed to the adapter section where he used foot restraints and tethers to position himself in front of a work panel mounted on the rear of the adaptor where he performed 17 relatively simple manual tasks.

I just woke up a few minutes ago from I guess about 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I still feel exhausted. I am now wondering of the series of scenes and images in one dream was actually a representation of my flight into space as the commander of the first space shuttle launch.

There dream, though, seemed to be set on the USS Oliver Hazard Perry FFG-7. I am not certain how I linked that setting to FFG-7 but I am certain I was on a FFG-7 class ship and the notion lingers in my mind that it was the FFG-7.
In a somewhat confusing part, I walked out of a room with two people in it, where a junior person was getting a medal, for someone reason, as I was looking on, onto the weatherdeck. The person who had got the medal, which was a medal I can visualize but that I do not recognize, followed out onto the deck, I think. I can still visualize the calm blue water and also looking out onto the shore and the sky line of some city we were near but that I cannot recognize either after waking up. I do remember that I commented to the other person that I enjoyed being back out to sea, and I feel compelled to note that I might have said to him that I enjoyed especially being out to sea when we we just floating around, as we were then. Then, for some strange reason, I was over the edge of the deck and I was hanging onto the low railing, trying to keep myself from falling over into the water. But the gravity was strange and that might be why that part seems weird, in
retrospect of the dream. I almost want to say that my feet were drifting upwards instead of downwards towards the ocean. I cannot remember what happened next. On one hand, it seems understand that I was hanging onto that railing but I am also somewhat baffled, as I ponder the dream after waking up, why I was even hanging from that railing in the first place.
