I can't remember now all the details in the dream, but I had a very clear and detailed dream a few hours ago where I was wearing a NASA astronaut flight suit. I remember thinking about details of that flight suit. It was orange and I remember thinking that it was similar to a standard U.S. Navy flight suit but the astronaut flight suit had the metal collar on it for the pressurized helmet. There were other details I can't quite articulate now. I can still visualize myself wearing that flight suit and I was walking through the streets in a city but I don't recognize where I was. I can vaguely remember seeing some other people there. I don't recognize the city but it reminds me of walking through the streets of Seattle. There might be other details that I have forgotten. A strange sensation associated with that dream is that I seemed to wake up after I had it and I thought I was going to have to get up out of bed at that point but then I went back to sleep
for a while, perhaps a few more hours as I think it was daylight outside when I had that dream about the flight suit and I got out of bed about 10 p.m., and had more dreams but I don't remember any of those now. That is a curious sensation associated with that dream about the flight suit where I thought I was going to have to get out of bed after I had it. Why did I feel that I had to get out of bed?

I having been having more specific thoughts about what I think are the calculations I was making to navigate into orbit of Callisto. It is all really not unlike the fire-control solutions I have talked about in the past, as associated with the Fire Control Technician of my artificial identity.
I imagine, or actually remember, that I put a lot of effort into letting gravity determine my part as I entered orbit, or at least as much as I could let gravity control my path. I probably had to make some kind of thruster burn at some point. But what I always wanted to do was to think of my navigation in terms of how sailors were dependant on the wind long ago before powered ships came into existence. The reason is that I wanted as practice as possible because I could always depend on gravity more than I could fuel, in that there was an abundance of gravity, depending on the right conditions, just like the wind. I wanted to save my fuel as much as possible in case there wasn't any wind, or gravity, as the case may be, to keep my ship moving.
I can almost visualize myself making these calculations and pondering the variables, but I can't quite put it all together enough to articulate. I imagine myself working out the variables associated with the position of Jupiter, for example, and then plotting my travel so I could apply some kind of formula that would tell me how much Jupiter was going to pull me or push me away from my target of Callisto.

Doomsday machine
The doomsday machine, also referred to as the planet killer, was an automated, self-propelled weapon capable of destroying entire planets. It was encountered in 2267 by the Federation starships USS Enterprise and USS Constellation.
As the two Starfleet ships withdrew, the planet killer returned to L-374 and resumed consuming the planetary debris, taking in additional fuel. When Decker gave indications he was going to continue to press the attack despite narrowly avoiding disaster in the previous engagement, he was relieved of command by Spock under direct orders from Kirk on the basis that to continue to press the futile attacks would be indication he was suicidal, and was ordered to report to sickbay for a psychological examination.
Suffering from a mental break-down brought on by extreme stress and the loss of his ship, crew and command, Commodore Decker escaped custody and stole a shuttlecraft from the Enterprise, piloting it on a suicide course directly into the weapon's maw, where it was quickly destroyed. However, the Enterprise sensors detected a small drop in the power output of the planet killer – the shuttlecraft's explosion, however small, had in fact caused some minor damage to the weapon from the inside. Based on this data, Captain Kirk proposed detonating the Constellation 's main impulse engines inside the Planet Killer, creating a much bigger explosion and hopefully causing major damage to the weapon, if not destroying it outright.

"Where No Fan Has Gone Before" is the eleventh episode of the fourth season of the animated series Futurama. It originally aired in the United States on April 21, 2002.
Bender, Leela and Fry, along with most of the cast of Star Trek: The Original Series, are court-martialed by Zapp Brannigan, who has the group recount the events that led to the court-martial for traveling to the forbidden planet Omega 3.
It is explained to Fry that Star Trek is forbidden in the future, because by the 23rd century, it had become a religion that had too many followers and resulted in changes of country names (such as Germany, which was renamed as Nazi Planet Episode Land). All the episodes of the original series and movies were jettisoned, by a craft bearing a suspicious resemblance to an Eagle from Space: 1999, to a forbidden planet. Fry runs to the Head Museum to talk to Leonard Nimoy’s Head. Nimoy's head tries to deny knowledge of the show, but realizes he can't escape the Star Trek craze and recounts to Fry how the rest of the cast left Earth. He did not go with them as he recently signed a six month lease on his apartment.
Fry, Leela, Bender and Nimoy's head journey to the forbidden planet where they crash and find several original sets from Star Trek as well as the cast, complete with their bodies and eternal youth. A large energy being named Melllvar reveals himself and explains that he became an obsessed Star Trek fan after watching the tapes over and over again. Melllvar gives Nimoy a body, and orders the actors and the Planet Express crew to participate in a Star Trek convention until all time stops. While Melllvar forces the cast to perform his fan script, Bender, Leela and Fry escape in the Planet Express ship. Fry then convinces the crew to go back for the actors, only to have Melllvar destroy the ship's engine as it crashes back on the planet.
After seeing the crew's attempt to escape, Melllvar wonders if the Planet Express crew are more worthy of his adoration; he decides to settle the question with a battle to the death. After several minutes of fighting, Melllvar's mother appears and makes him come home for supper. Fry remarks that Mellvar, for all his power, was just a child (referencing the classic series villain Trelane), only for Mellvar's mother to reveal that her son is in fact 34. While he is gone, the two groups combine the engine of the cast's ship with the body of the Planet Express ship. In order to lose enough weight to lift off, the cast jettison their bodies. Melllvar soon follows the crew into space, with his own spaceship (a Klingon Ktinga model). The Planet Express ship is then boarded by Brannigan, who starts the court-martial. At this point, Leela points out that during the course of the court-martial, Melllvar is continuing to chase them.
Everyone hurries back to the control room, where they still try to escape from Melllvar. Fry convinces Melllvar that he can't spend his whole time watching Star Trek, and Melllvar eventually agrees to end the chase and "get a life." The crew returns, with the tapes in hand, to Earth. The cast finally agrees to leave, deciding that living with "one really annoying Star Trek fan" was not worth the great things they received
All of the living members of the original Star Trek cast agreed to appear in the episode with the exception of James Doohan, whose agent replied with "No way." Because of this, the episode's working title was jokingly named "We got everybody but Scotty" and the character Montgomery Scott was replaced with "Welshy".

Workforce is a two-part episode from the seventh and final season of the TV series Star Trek: Voyager.
Kathryn Janeway happily shows up for her first day of work at an energy plant.
She befriends a man named Jaffen and soon runs afoul of Annika Hansen, the efficiency monitor. Tuvok, a fellow employee, acts weirdly and claims that they don't belong there. A prominent doctor diagnoses Tuvok with "dysphoria syndrome" and begins treatment.
Tom Paris manages to get himself fired from the energy plant even though there is a labor shortage. He takes a job at a bar, and befriends B'Elanna Torres, a pregnant woman who works at the energy plant.
Meanwhile, Chakotay and Harry Kim return to Voyager from a short mission away to find the ship empty and the Emergency Command Hologram in charge. The ECH explains the situation. The whole crew has been forced off the ship and taken to the planet nearby.
Chakotay has himself surgically altered to look different and goes down to the planet and abducts Torres, but he himself doesn't escape.
Part II
With Neelix's help, Torres begins to remember her life as a starship engineer. On the planet, Chakotay has a tougher time overcoming Janeway's skepticism at his story that she's a starship captain.
A young doctor begins to become suspicious that so many people of the same species have dysphoria syndrome and that almost all of them got jobs at the energy plant. Annika Hansen begins taking Tuvok's rants seriously, and with help from a detective, uncovers the plot.
The Voyager crew returns to the ship.

The term first contact describes the first official encounter between representatives of two races or governments. Occasionally, the official first contact takes place years or even decades after members of the species involved have first met.

Thank you very much, Mr. Vice President, Members of Congress, veterans of the Apollo program, the friends of the space program in America, and most of all, to those whom we honor here today.
Just a day before he died, President Kennedy compared our space program to a boy who comes upon a wall in an orchard. The wall is tall. It looks insurmountable, but the boy is curious about what lies on the other side. So he throws his cap over the wall, and then he has no choice but to go after it.
Twenty-five years ago today, our Nation, represented by these three brave men, made that climb. And so, today we are gathered to celebrate their voyage and, I honestly hope, to recommit ourselves to their spirit of discovery.Apollo 11 , Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins were our guides for the wondrous, the unimaginable at that time, the true handiwork of God. They realized the dreams of a nation. They fulfilled an American destiny. They taught us that nothing is impossible if we set our sights high enough.
Today we're honored to have them and all the other Apollo astronauts who are here with us. For every American who followed your journey, especially for those of us who were young on that fateful day 25 years ago, and for the young Americans who still dream dreams of a future in space, we thank you all.
Looking back on that mission, one thing is clear that we ought to remember today. It wasn't easy. The ship to the heavens measured just 13 feet in diameter. The destination was 3 days and a world away. On the third day as the tiny module descended to the Moon, it came dangerously close to a crash landing—that happens around here all the time—[laughter] —but Neil Armstrong took over the controls from the computer and landed safely.

It's a great pleasure to welcome you here to the White House. And as I look around, I can't help thinking that I haven't seen so many stars in one place since I was on a backlot of Warner Brothers. [Laughter]
We celebrate today a unique moment in the history of mankind—Eagle's touchdown near the southwestern shore of the Sea of Tranquility. It's hard to believe that 15 years have passed since we first heard Neil Armstrong's words. I know it's been that long, but why don't any of you look any older? [Laughter]
As you know, Dr. George Low, the guiding light behind the Apollo program, passed away earlier this week. Dr. Low began his career as a research scientist and progressed to key leadership positions in the manned space flight program, including manager of the Apollo spacecraft program. He played a leading role in all the Apollo missions and directed the Apollo 11 flight.
Dr. Low also served as Deputy Administrator and Acting Administrator of NASA and was instrumental in the planning of the shuttle program. For the past 8 years, he continued his lifelong efforts to build a better tomorrow while serving as president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
We're grateful for what George Low has done and the ideals he stood for, and we'll miss him very much. I know you join Nancy and me in extending heartfelt condolences to the Low family.
But I'm sure George Low would be pleased that we're honoring our achievements and the promise of space with a proclamation designating today as "Space Exploration Day." Let us use this occasion as a commitment to our future, to the best of America. And let it be a reminder of America's spirit of exploration, our desire to cross new horizons and to learn more about ourselves and the world around us.

Energy Expo '82 Announcement of Federal Recognition for the International Exposition.
April 28th, 1977
The President today announced that he has granted Federal recognition to "Energy Expo '82," an international exposition on energy to be held in Knoxville, Tenn., from May to November 1982. The President directed the Secretary of State to notify the Bureau of International Expositions for formal registration.
Pursuant to Public Law 91-269, the Department of Commerce evaluated the plans for the exposition and submitted a report recommending that Federal recognition be granted.
Among the reasons for the Commerce Department's favorable recommendation are the timeliness and importance of the theme of energy. The Knoxville area was judged appropriate because of its energy. contributions in the past and the proximity of the Oak Ridge National Laboratories, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and other energy projects.

There are other patriotic speeches being made in other parts of the world today. This is May Day—May Day in the Soviet Union, whose citizens are being forced into an unnatural observance. We'll see, as we always do every May Day, the rockets on their carriages go by and the troops and the bayonets and so forth. They celebrate a government that promises a freedom it systematically denies; that proclaims justice while practicing tyranny; and that uses what it calls law as little more than a thin veneer for the edicts of a totalitarian edict [government]. 3

I think the greatest description of the difference between the two countries is simply that one has to put up fences and walls to keep its people in, and there's nothing like that that has to keep anyone in America. And thanks be to God. We're free just as we have been. Omar and his generation are free to dream and then turn those dreams into reality.
As you walk through these exhibits today, just imagine what wonders his generation will bring us. Our task is to ensure that children and their children's children have their same chance to grow up in liberty. So, Omar, once again, bless you, and thank you for your gift. Thank you for the inspiration. And I can assure you that every time we'll look at this, we'll be more and more sure that the impossible can be done. It just takes a little longer.

Governor Alexander, our Senators, our Congressmen, members of the Cabinet, Joe Rodgers,1 and a very special greeting not only to you all but to this remarkable young man here who's on the platform.

Mac, I hope you won't be wronged if I tell something about—Mac stands up here as a businessman and a Cabinet member now, handling that great Department of Commerce. But one of my fondest memories after I was elected was when I called to ask him to take that position. And his wife answered the phone and told me he couldn't come to the phone, because he was out in a calf-roping contest. [Laughter] And I said, "He's in. He belongs." [Laughter]
Well, Omar, we thanked you just up here, where no one could hear, but Nancy and I are honored that you would work so that we could visit your hometown and this magnificent World's Fair. 2
2 Eleven-year-old Omar Baldonado had collected $120 in pennies to buy two season tickets to the exposition for the President and Mrs. Reagan.
You know, that book that we were handed contains the names of the 12,000 people who contributed a penny. Now, it must have taken a long time to collect so many. And I understand that Omar said, oh, a couple of times it kind of got uphill going because he also asked for those signatures at the same time. Well, it must have taken a long time, and 12,000 people is a lot to have contributed to any effort. I'm glad that so many people wanted us here in Knoxville. I hope they weren't just trying to get us out of Washington. [Laughter]
But I'm proud that America is still bringing up young children like Omar, boys and girls who care about their community, their town, and their country. Omar, when I think of what you did and the extent of that job, we might call on you pretty soon. There's a fellow in Washington that we have to negotiate with with regard to the budget. [Laughter]
But isn't it wonderful to see young people still understand that growing up American means they can reach as high, accomplish as much, and go as far as their talent and effort will take them? This beautiful pavilion is proof that other generations of Americans believed in dreams. It's wonderful to see that these young people believe they can see their dreams come true.
Earlier today, awestruck by just the glimpses that I've been able to get of some of the technology here, I referred to "Gulliver's Travels." That's a book that Omar may be familiar with. There's a character in that book who's trying to find a way to extract sunbeams from cucumbers. And I remarked that not long ago the technology exhibited here seemed every bit as fanciful as cucumber power. Now, I'm not suggesting that America devote much time or money to researching cucumbers. But we are a people known for dreaming with our eyes wide open.
We live our dreams. We make them come true. Our ideas and energies combine in a dynamic force—the kind of force that made the developments and breakthroughs and discoveries in this building possible. And that force has always enabled America to overcome great odds, and it always will. We just refer to it as the American spirit. That's the spirit Omar has, and that spirit is why I'm sure this country is going to do just fine.

In the criminal law, theft (also known as stealing) is the illegal taking of another person's property without that person's freely-given consent. In some jurisdictions, theft is considered to be synonymous with larceny; in others, theft has replaced larceny.
Someone who carries out an act of or makes a career of theft is known as a thief.
The actus reus of theft is usually defined as an unauthorised taking, keeping or using of another's property which must be accompanied by a mens rea of dishonesty and/or the intent to permanently deprive the owner or the person with rightful possession of that property or its use.

It kept getting worse.
The horror arrived in episodic bursts of chilling disbelief, signified first by trembling floors, sharp eruptions, cracked windows. There was the actual unfathomable realization of a gaping, flaming hole in first one of the tall towers, and then the same thing all over again in its twin. There was the merciless sight of bodies helplessly tumbling out, some of them in flames.
Finally, the mighty towers themselves were reduced to nothing. Dense plumes of smoke raced through the downtown avenues, coursing between the buildings, shaped like tornadoes on their sides.
Every sound was cause for alarm. A plane appeared overhead. Was another one coming? No, it was a fighter jet. But was it friend or enemy? People scrambled for their lives, but they didn't know where to go. Should they go north, south, east, west? Stay outside, go indoors? People hid beneath cars and each other. Some contemplated jumping into the river.
For those trying to flee the very epicenter of the collapsing World Trade Center towers, the most horrid thought of all finally dawned on them: nowhere was safe.

Insurance fraud
Insurance fraud is any act committed with the intent to fraudulently obtain payment from an insurer.
Insurance fraud has existed ever since the beginning of insurance as a commercial enterprise. Fraudulent claims account for a significant portion of all claims received by insurers, and cost billions of dollars annually. Types of insurance fraud are very diverse, and occur in all areas of insurance. Insurance crimes also range in severity, from slightly exaggerating claims to deliberately causing accidents or damage. Fraudulent activities also affect the lives of innocent people, both directly through accidental or purposeful injury or damage, and indirectly as these crimes cause insurance premiums to be higher. Insurance fraud poses a very significant problem, and governments and other organizations are making efforts to deter such activities.
Fraudulent activities against property insurance providers consist of the destruction of property in order to receive insurance payments for it. Possible motivations for this can include obtaining payment that is worth more than the value of the property destroyed, or to destroy and subsequently receive payment for goods that could not otherwise be sold. According to Alfred Manes, the majority of property insurance crimes involve arson. One reason for this is that any evidence that a fire was started by arson is often destroyed by the fire itself.
According to the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud, a former business executive from Chicago resorted to insurance fraud to pay off his debt of over $672,000. He set fire to his own home in order to collect insurance money on it. In order to disguise this act of arson, he trapped his ninety year old mother in the basement while the house was burning so that the fire would appear to be a suicide. He received about $600,000 in insurance money, but was eventually convicted on several charges and sentenced to 190 years in federal prison.
