Judge blocks Microsoft 'end-run'

I wrote earlier about something suspicious with the volume of the MSFT stock, of which I was used to own shares. I created a list that covers the volume of every single trading day for MSFT since 1986. From that list of over 5000 days, I discovered a period of 6 days earlier this year that rank very high in terms of the amount of volume on any given day. The first days ranks as the third highest since 1986. The lowest volume from that 6 day period ranks as the 282nd highest. Today I was looking back through my journal and I noticed something else unusal about the timing and I am listing some notable events below:

The judge also noted that granting Microsoft's subpoena request would undermine a statute relating to sovereignty concerns involving U.S. government authorities and foreign courts.

"Microsoft's (subpoena) application constitutes a blatant end-run around 'foreign proof-gathering restrictions or other policies of a foreign country,'" the judge stated in her order.

And the court also found that Microsoft's subpoenas would be "unduly intrusive and burdensome."
