On April 21, 1989, a 39-member ownership group led by George W. Bush and a Fort Worth financier closed a deal to buy the Texas Rangers, installing Bush as the managing partner.
When the group sold the team last year for $250 million, Bush's share was $14.9 million after an initial investment of a relatively modest half-million dollars. His handsome profit raised questions about whether his name had landed him a sweetheart deal.
Running the team together, Rose and Bush were a study in contrasts – Rose is as studied, cerebral and shy as Bush is impulsive, loquacious and brazen. "George is very intuitive, very quick to come to the path he wants to take," said Rose. "And I'm pretty plodding. Never in our partnership did we have a disagreement over the paths. But George came up to a path in 15 minutes, and I never was able to come with the path until three days. . . . Sometimes he called me daily and I'd say, well, I still got the abacus whirling."

§ 2331. Definitions
As used in this chapter—
(1) the term “international terrorism” means activities that—
(A) involve violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State, or that would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or
of any State;
(B) appear to be intended—
(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or
(iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and
(C) occur primarily outside the territorial jurisdiction of the United States, or transcend national boundaries in terms of the means by which they are accomplished, the persons they appear intended to intimidate or coerce, or the locale
in which their perpetrators operate or seek asylum;
(2) the term “national of the United States” has the meaning given such term in section 101(a)(22) of the Immigration and Nationality Act;
(3) the term “person” means any individual or entity capable of holding a legal or beneficial interest in property;
(4) the term “act of war” means any act occurring in the course of—
(A) declared war;
(B) armed conflict, whether or not war has been declared, between two or more nations; or

Randolph Haven (Robert Young), an irresponsible sort, and his wife Norma (Ruth Hussey), have been married for seven years and still very much in love, although Norma is dissatisfied with their hand-to-mouth life style and gets a job as a saleslady. Randolph, seeking an easier pursuit, goes into partnership with a bookie and, in order to cover a bet, sells a manuscript on "The Psychology of Marriage", a situation that is fraught with problems, not the least being in that he didn't write the book, and that he also has to pose as a bachelor. He begins to believe in his fake personality to the extent he insists on living in a penthouse. Then the publisher falls in love with Norma, not knowing she is married to Randolph, the bachelor expert on marriage.

The Lockheed D-21 is an unmanned or "drone" aircraft designed to carry out high-speed, high-altitude strategic reconnaissance missions over hostile territory. It is a product of the Lockheed "Skunk Works" program that developed the A-12, YF-12A and SR-71 "Blackbird" manned aircraft in the 1960s.
Originally, the D-21 was designed to be launched from the back of a modified A-12 (redesignated M-12) carrier aircraft. The first flight of the D-21/M-12 combination took place on Dec. 22, 1964, but the first D-21 release from an M-12 did not occur until March 5, 1966.

"Bloodlines" is a seventh season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Quick Overview: Bok, a vengeful Ferengi from the first season episode "The Battle", returns to enact revenge on Picard, by killing the son Picard never knew he had.
The episode begins with Bok (a former Ferengi DaiMon whose son was killed in a battle with the USS Stargazer, then commanded by Picard) announcing his intention to kill Picard's son in revenge.
Picard, who is not aware of having a son, eventually locates Jason Vigo, the son of a woman named Miranda Vigo, with whom Picard had had a past relationship. The results of a DNA-test confirm that he is indeed his son. Picard's attempts to bond with Jason prove difficult however, and he is dismayed to discover that Jason has been convicted of petty theft. Meanwhile, Bok beams to the Enterprise twice (using subspace transport technology) to repeat his threats, and Jason suffers attacks from a disease.
Finally, Bok beams Jason off the Enterprise and onto his own ship. Picard then beams to Bok's ship, also using the "subspace method", where he confronts Bok and two other Ferengi with the revelation that Jason is not actually his son, but that Bok has altered Jason's DNA in order to make Picard feel the pain of losing a son, too. Dr. Crusher uncovers this deception after determining that the disease Jason is suffering from is usually inherited, yet neither Picard nor Jason's mother had it. She relays this information to Picard off-screen. Realizing that there is no ransom money to be earned, the two other Ferengi then disarm Bok and release Jason.

NASA awarded Space Services Inc. of Houston a $1 million contract Wednesday to launch a suborbital rocket in March bearing a half dozen experiments on making products in the weightlessness of space.
The agreement means that Space Services, founded in 1981, could be among the first small U.S. companies to successfully carry out a commercial rocket launch.
"This is a major step for us," said Charles Chafer, the company's vice president for marketing in Washington. "This takes us out of the what-if stage to being a recognized player in the field."
An official with the Transportation Department, which licenses commercial space activities in this country, said the Space Services flight could score a first for a small company, depending on the timing of ground launches planned by two small competitors, Conatec and E Prime.
E Prime had plans for a suborbital launch this month but has postponed them indefinitely, and Conatec has been tentative in its plans for a March launch, the official said.
A third competitor - Orbital Sciences Corp. together with Hercules Aerospace - also plans a novel launch of its first Pegasus rocket from a B-52 early next year, Chafer said.
