Stargate is returning to the world of video games, more than a decade after the previous effort went offline.
Today U.K.-based publisher Slitherine has announced that Stargate: Timekeepers, a real-time strategy game, is currently in development. The game is officially licensed by MGM.
Set between Seasons Seven and Eight of Stargate SG-1, the game will release on PC distribution platforms such as Steam.
"Working on an IP like Stargate is an honor and a testament to our continued effort to reach a wider audience," Slitherine Marketing Director Marco Minoli said. "We strive to capture players" imagination by creating our own worlds or by forging experiences based on existing, influential franchises. We look forward to bringing Stargate: Timekeepers to life and creating a long-lasting legacy of Stargate strategy games.'
It's the first licensed PC game for the franchise since the online third-person shooter Stargate: Resistance went offline at the beginning of 2011. Since then Stargate has had two games come and go in the mobile space, with Arkalis Interactive publishing Stargate Command in 2012 and Stargate SG-1: Unleashed in 2013.
The announcement today comes with a 1-minute teaser trailer, featuring a CG dialing Stargate and the game's official logo:
TIMEKEEPERS: STORY AND SETTING
Timekeepers will give players a chance to engage in combat with the Goa'uld System Lords, rescue allies from danger, and travel through both space and time - exploring different points in the Stargate timeline.
Rather than yet another attempt at an SG-1 sim, Timekeepers follows original characters on missions elsewhere in the Stargate universe, and also across multiple time periods. The story takes the seventh season finale of Stargate SG-1 as its point of departure, following Commander Eva McCain and her team starting with the battle against Anubis over the ice of Antarctica ("Lost City").
Stargate: Timekeepers departs from the end of season 7 of the Stargate SG-1 main plot to create a wholly original story starting during the Battle of Antarctica, where [Commander] Eva McCain and her team are tasked with supporting the SG-1 against Anubis's fleet. The aftermath of the battle sees Commander McCain and her squad face an epic adventure that spans multiple original locations.

A Map of the Universe

We have produced a new conformal map of the universe illustrating recent discoveries, ranging from Kuiper belt objects in the Solar system, to the galaxies and quasars from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. This map projection, based on the logarithm map of the complex plane, preserves shapes locally, and yet is able to display the entire range of astronomical scales from the Earth's neighborhood to the cosmic microwave background. The conformal nature of the projection, preserving shapes locally, may be of particular use for analyzing large scale structure. Prominent in the map is a Sloan Great Wall of galaxies 1.37 billion light years long, 80% longer than the Great Wall discovered by Geller and Huchra and therefore the largest observed structure in the universe.

A few minutes ago I started thinking that maybe I started at Princeton University in 1972. I would have been 13 at the time as Thomas Ray. I remember that Kerry Burgess started first grade in 1972. But then I decided that I probably started Princeton earlier than 1972 and maybe 1972 was the year I completed my first major degree. Or 1972 doesn’t really mean anything in particular to Thomas Ray; rather it is there for continuity sake for the life of Kerry Burgess.

I saw myself going through an induction process in the United States Marine Corps and I woke up understanding that I was dreaming of my actual experience in 1990. I saw a document that indicated I was being inducted to the United States Marine Corps with the officer grade of Chief Warrant Officer 2. I saw in the dream another document associated with my induction and that document indicated I had been assigned the informal name "Salesman."

The Guardian returned in the third season of Star Trek: Discovery in the two-part story "Terra Firma" episodes 9–10. In those episodes, the Guardian has relocated itself to another planet, Dannus V, to prevent itself from being weaponized in the Temporal Wars. It also has the ability to project a humanoid avatar, named Carl (Paul Guilfoyle), which it uses to hide its true nature until it trusts any individuals that encounter it.

"Terra Firma" is the ninth and tenth episodes of the third season of the American television series Star Trek: Discovery.
The first part was released on the streaming service CBS All Access on December 10, 2020. The second part was released a week later on December 17.
Part 1
Paul Stamets and Adira can trace the Burn to a specific nebula's source and recognize it as a Kelpien starship's distress call. Now on Dannus V's surface, Georgiou and Michael Burnham encounter a mysterious stranger who reveals himself as Carl. Carl shows Georgiou a door, which he says is a portal, prompting Georgiou to hesitate about going through initially. Carl convinces her to cross, and Georgiou finds herself in the Mirror Universe, on board the ISS Discovery, during the time before she visited the Prime Universe.
