One detail I observed when I watched recently the DVD for the 1997 film "Event Horizon" is about the actor Jason Isaacs. In that 1997 film, he is some kind of medical doctor or medical technician. He wears something with "EMS" on the back. He is also wearing insignia on his uniform that is recognizable to me as being very similar to the officer grade of lieutenant commander of the United States Coast Guard. Consistent with that observation is the insignia device on his shirt collar which is an oak leaf that a lieutenant commander of the United States Navy and United States Coast Guard would wear. That is also the same device that an officer holding the grade of major, such I did in the timeframe of 1997, of the United States Marine Corps. What the film does not ever explain, that I can recall without going back and watching that DVD for the second time, is why Jason Isaacs character has an obvious scar running up and down and in the center of his chest. The scar is shown just before the evil "Dr. Weir" takes a scalpel and eviscerates the character Jason Isaac's portrays, which is named "D.J." Laurence Fishburne comes in later and sees "D.J." and observes that "Dr. Weir" has apparently "left him hanging." He is suspended from the ceiling and his guts have been torn out and are spread about on the floor.
The actor Jason Isaacs is also the "Ronald Quincy" character from the 1998 film "Armageddon," the antagonist British colonel character from the 2000 film "The Patriot," who is impaled into the chest or abdomen by Mel Gibson at the end of the film, and Jason Isaacs is also sitting there wearing the uniform of a major in the United States Marine Corps with the ribbon of the United States Navy cross medal on his uniform shirt in the 2002 film "Windtalkers."
