Event Horizon (1997) [ RACKETEER INFLUENCED AND CORRUPT ORGANIZATIONS US Title 18 ]

Dr. Weir: [describing how the Event Horizon functions] The ship doesn't really go faster than light; what it does is it creates a dimensional gateway that allows it to jump instantaneously from one point of the universe to another light years away.

Lt. Starck, Executive Officer: How?

Dr. Weir: [stammering] Well, that's - that's difficult to - it's all math...

Miller: Try us, Doctor.

Dr. Weir: Right. Well, um, using layman's terms... Use a retaining magnetic field to focus a narrow beam of gravitons - these, in turn, fold space-time

Tom Cruise

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV (born July 3, 1962), better known as Tom Cruise, is an American film actor and producer.

Cruise has made several expressions of his feelings for Holmes to the media, most notably the "couch incident" which took place on the popular The Oprah Winfrey Show of May 23, 2005. Cruise "jumped around the set, hopped onto a couch, fell to one knee and repeatedly professed his love for his new girlfriend". The phrase "jumping the couch", fashioned after "jumping the shark", is used to describe someone "going off the deep end" in public in a manner extreme enough to tarnish his or her reputation.

Thank God, It's Doomsday

"Thank God, It's Doomsday" is the nineteenth episode of The Simpsons' sixteenth season. The episode aired for the first time on May 8, 2005, in the US.

This causes many of Springfield's residents to believe that Homer is right in predicting that at 3:15 p.m. on May 18, the apocalypse will come, and so the believers follow him to the Springfield Mesa to wait for it.

William Adama: Good morning.

Gaeta: Morning, sir. Com traffic from the midwatch.

William Adama: Hmm. Anything interesting?

Gaeta: Mostly housekeeping. Uh, there was one odd message we were copied on. The one from Fleet Headquarters there, sir. Courier officer's overdue coming back from Armistice Station. They've asked for a full status report on all F.T.L.-capable ships just in case they need somebody to jump out there today - see if his ship has any mechanical problems.

William Adama: I think we're a little bit busy today. Wouldn't you say so, Lieutenant?

Gaeta: Yes, sir.

William Adama: I'm glad we agree.

The Happiest Millionaire (1967)

John Lawless: [singing] The night before I sailed away, they come from far and near. All me friends, and all me kin, to share a partin' tear. We knew we'd never meet again, and yet 'twas clear to see, I'd always be a part o' them, and them a part of me! I'll always be Irish, 'cause that's 'ow I begun! I'll always be Irish, I'll say that to any man! And when I'm an American, I'll be a good one too... I'll be truly as American as Irish stew!

Plot Summary for

The Happiest Millionaire (1967)

A happy and unbelievably lucky young Irish immigrant, John Lawless, lands a job as the butler of an unconventional millionaire, Biddle. His daughter, Cordelia Drexel Biddle, tires of the unusual antics of her father--especially since the nice young men around town all fear him. Wouldn't you fear a father-in-law that keeps alligators for pets and teaches boxing at his daily Bible classes? Cordelia decides to run off to boarding school and promptly finds the man of her dreams. Unfortunately, his family doesn't approve of Biddle's outrageous antics, either.

I take it you're not
alerting everyone like this.

:24:04
Nobody knows.
That's the way it stays.

:24:07
For the next ten days, there are
only nine telescopes in the world...

:24:10
that can spot the asteroid,
and we control eight of 'em.

The president's classified

If news like this got out,

there'd be an overnight breakdown

Rioting, mass religious hysteria,
total chaos, you can imagine.

:12:03
I just found out something interesting.
Number two chewed 180 feet last night.

:12:09
- Who do we have to thank for this?
- I'll give you two guesses.

:12:11
But you're only gonna need one.

:12:13
Goddamn it, A.J.!

:12:15
A.J.!

:12:19
A.J.! A.J., you in here?

Oh, that's just perfect.
In bed. Get up!

- Uh, hey, you wanted to see me ?
- Yeah, I was lookin' for ya.

:12:29
You're pissed. Okay, I can see that.

:12:31
No. You know what, A.J.?
I'm not pissed. You've seen me pissed.

:12:34
This is way, way beyond pissed,
though. You know I shut down
number two last night, right?

:12:37
- Yeah, man, I had a hunch on that.
- Let me tell you something.

:12:40
Someday, many years from now,
when you're all growed up,

:12:43
and you got your own oil company
and $8 million of your own money
on the contract,

:12:47
you can do whatever comes into
that little A.J.-idiotin' mind
of yours you want.

:12:50
But as long as it says
"Harry Stamper Oil" on the rig,
you will not disobey my rules.

:12:54
- You got that ?

Spooky. At least it is to me, I guess. I looked through a window a few days ago and I thought to myself that it reminded me, in terms of the layout of the ground, of that dream I wrote about. I wrote of how I saw a very bright flash on the wall of my apartment through the window which was followed by another very bright light. I looked through the window and I could see a small hill directly outside my window that had green grass on it
