Privy Purse and Duchy of Lancaster
This is a historical term used to describe income from the Duchy of Lancaster, which is used to meet both official and private expenditure by The Queen.
The Duchy of Lancaster is a portfolio of land, property and assets held in trust for the Sovereign in his/her role as Sovereign. It is administered separately from the Crown Estates.
Its main purpose is to provide an independent source of income, and is used mainly to pay for official expenditure not met by the Civil List (primarily to meet expenses incurred by other members of the Royal Family).

Why do I "remember" that wedding I went to where Anonda was there? I can't "remember" the name of her aunt, but she was the woman that was my primary contact at that bank in Lancaster, SC, where I did computer support. The wedding was for that woman's daughter, I think. I can't "remember" her name either, but I have several "memories" of that wedding. I was late for the start, which was unusal because I was rarely late for anything, and I "remember" that the front door to the church slammed behind me as the wedding photographer was recording video of the wedding, where that sound was probably recorded on the video. I commented later to the mother something about how I had left my mark on the wedding.
I "remember" that I was feeling very depressed at the reception.

UNION, S.C. - The prosecution urged the jurors at the Susan Smith trial to hold on to their common sense in the weeks ahead, and they would come to see Smith as a selfish, malicious killer who sacrificed her children for the love of the son of a rich industrialist.
The defense begged them to look into their hearts and, through that softer focus, find a disturbed, childlike figure who, after a lifetime of sadness, snapped like a dry twig.
As simplistic as those opposing views might seem, they will be the crux of the next month of testimony in Smith's capital murder trial, which officially began Tuesday with opening statements in the elegant old Union County Courthouse.
"For nine days in the fall of 1994, Susan Smith looked this country in the eyes and lied," said Keith Giese, a special prosecutor and assistant to the state's prosecutor, Tommy Pope. "She begged God to return her children to safety, and the whole time she knew her children were lying dead at the bottom of John D. Long Lake.
"She knew right from wrong. She could control her actions if she wanted to, and she did not. This was a conscious decision to kill her children."
Smith, who has sat quietly through most of the court proceedings, started to cry.
