After I read back over that, I wondered if it has something to do with being in a life raft after we abandoned Sheffield. I have often thought my grandfather, Joseph Fletcher Burgess, in the context of my artificial and symbolic memory, has some bearing on my true paternal grandfather.
In the context of my artificial and symbolic memory, the summer of 1983 was just after my junior year at Ashdown, of which I find a lot of similarity to the summer of 1981 in my true memory, which was just after my 3rd year at USNA. It was the 3rd year at Ashdown that I was Class President, supervised the construction of the junior class float, awarded the American Legion medal. I took Lesa Jewell to the prom but we weren't actually dating. I "remember" seeing our prom photos around a lot of places in the homes of people in my family. Some years later, in the context of my artificial and symbolic memory, my grandmother, Betty, was telling me I should marry Lesa and I reminded her that Lesa was already married to Tom Withem and they had 3 kids. So anyway, that junior year was when Donald Mills was elected mayor of Wilton, Arkansas, and he was my employer at my after-school job at Mills Store, which was a general store in Wilton. He put me in charge of a crew, funded with federal money, to fix potholes in the city streets of Wilton, while I also had two other jobs that summer. I think I started dating Rhonda Ramsey that summer, but that may have started in my senior year. I noted earlier that I was vice-president of the National Honor Society in my senior year. I remember that I would have been elected President but the Shurtleff twins made a point of voicing that they were changing their votes and it turned out I had lost by only one vote.
"Toland" is the name of a Tom Clancy character. I crossed the name "Chuck" in front of the "Toland" though. I guess because I couldn't remember if that was actually that characters first name. I also understood that I have bought a lot of copies of that book from Tom Clancy. I was walking down the sidewalk about 2 years ago and I could have sworn Tom Clancy passed me on the sidewalk and was looking at me as he walked by me.
To get away from that homeless shelter I was in, although the craziness follows around Seattle everywhere I go, I would walk down to a park and sit there for a while, looking for some peace and quiet. I was very close to the intersections of the Seattle streets 3rd and Thomas, as illustrated in the following link. I had been in the Shoreline Homeless Shelter for Veterans but I think they kicked me out of there and sent me down to Pioneer Square so there would be a greater chance I would fall victim to some kind of random act of violence that wasn't actually random. Before I left the Shoreline facility, I was probably only a few days from dying from the result of being poisoned and I will probably later go into more detail on that agonizing experience.

I don't know if I used to use this analogy before my memory was suppressed, but I look at this as though it is a good hand at playing the card game Poker. This particular calculation is associated with the landing of Apollo 17, which is the last known time any human has traveled to another planetary body.

I am quite certain that my observations about being sent to the Pioneer Square gulag were registering because I heard the Seattle Police Chief making some comments in the media about how Pioneer Square didn't have a crime problem. I was very disappointed in the response I got when I called them because I was hearing something suspicious about that Tacoma Mall terrorist, other than the nature of the crime that was being reported. I told the one police officer that I thought the people around there in Pioneer Square thought I was an informant but he simply dismissed that comment and said he didn't think anyone thought I was an informant. All they did was take me, as usual, to the hospital, where they were no help, as usual. As I was waiting in the ER, on the stretcher, that was the first time I can remember ever being told I had high blood pressure.

I caught the last part of the first "Rambo" last night and I realized he said something about going to Las Vegas with one of his buddies, who I think was later killed. Then I started wondering if that was why Ken Fagan invited me to Vegas that time to give a speech to his customer. That was either 2000 or 2001. I remember that I was invited down there again to a group meeting of my assigned customer, IBM Global Services. I was writing the other day wondering if I, or my family, got Microsoft into IBM back when they got that contract to develop software for the original PC. I can't remember the name of Fagan's customer, but I might recognize it if I saw it. That sort of thing happens a lot. I can't remember details from my real life, but I am wondering if I have started recognizing those details when I see them. Anyway, I can't remember the topic I presented to Fagan's customer, it was Fagan's choice, and I didn't know much about the topic. One other coworker went down there with us and presented before me. He seemed rattled to be in front of the crowd and I remember how he was throwing his notes down on the floor, leaving them in disarray.

This would explain other things I heard at Microsoft about the moon. Ken Fagan Cavallon related to me some tip he had for people that needed to be more humble. He said that he told people that were full of themselves, as I inferred from his story, that they should always remember that they hadn't been to the moon yet. There was also some marketing campaign about customer support that involved traveling to the moon.

Something is making me think again that Ken Fagan Cavallon is the son of the serial killer John Wayne Gacy. The similarity of Ken’s appearance to the photo in this wiki article is uncanny. It would also make sense they had him working with me, in that they also had Jeremy Rule working with me too. I don’t know what Microsoft’s point was exactly, but they were putting all these people around me so they would be included in any kind of historical information that was being generated about me.

If you go to that link you will find the requester name as Ken Fagan and the date 01-may-2001.
SunnComm has a feature on its web site called “Ask The President”. This is supposed to be an informal Q & A where SunnComm’s President Peter Jacobs answers questions from investors and others (those who follow it closely, know it is used for blatant pumping of the company stock with inuendo on deals that never materialize etc.). Most old Q&As have been removed, but with the benefit of Wayback Machine, we can see some Q&As from 2002.

Take a look at the 2nd last Q&A at that link. As you can see it is an almost incredulous endorsement of SunnComm by Microsoft (Has Microsoft ever said such glowing statements about any other company, never mind a penny stock?). The statements were made by Ken Cavelon, Engagement Manager, Microsoft Services for ISV Partners. But when that Q&A first appeared on AskThePrez, the name was not Ken Cavelon, but Ken Fagan, using the same title.
When the original, with Ken Fagan as the author appeared, some astute investors remembered the name Ken Fagan from an SEC filing by SunnComm. It appears that Ken Fagan (at the time employed by Microsoft) was given a contract by SunnComm to help sell SunnComm products to major software vendors (including Microsoft).

They also remembered that Ken Fagan used post on the Raging Bull board for SunnComm using the alias Illuvetar. In several posts around that time, Illuvetar (his profile gave his e-mail as kenfagan@microsoft.com) identified himself as a Microsoft employee and he used his employment status with Microsoft to add credibility to his recommendations on SunnComm (he never mentioned his contract with SunnComm though). He also was (and still is I believe) a Microsoft employee when he entered that contract with SunnComm, which represented a huge conflict of interests.
After the endorsement of SunnComm by Microsoft (via Ken Fagan) appeared on AskThePrez, posters started questioning the whole integrity of what was written since they were reminded by the astute posters of Ken Fagan’s association with SunnComm. One poster wrote some e-mails to Ken Fagan and although no satisfactory explanation was given, Fagan revealed that he had decided to change his name to Ken Cavallan.
(Note: when SunnComm first changed the name showing in the AskThePrez Q&A from Fagan, they originally mispelled it as Cavelon - see link I gave above. It took 2 further attempts to get it right. See this subsequent Wayback Machine snapshot where they have finally got it right:

Although many suspected the name change might have a lot to do with the fact that the whole event as detailed above was submitted to the SEC, Ken Fagan (now Cavallan) in a Raging Bull post gave this as the reason.

My starting salary at Microsoft was 53,000 which I believe was a reference to my participation in Operation Eagle Claw on 4/24/80. My earnings record indicates that I received a total of 11,362 from Microsoft in 1998, which would be from December 7th to the end of the month and included reimbursement for travel expenses.

That 59K from 2001 caught my eye and I do not think it is a coincidence. I don’t remember what my base salary was for 1999 and on, but all those values reflect bonuses that could have been crafted to produce a specific result.
[ 08/13/2007: even though that salary for 2001 was for the period ending 12/31/2001, that value was actually established before the 9/11/2001 attacks. ]
That salary figure for 2003 represents an increase of 7830, another familiar number.
The value for 2004 represents exactly two months salary I believe, although it may be one or two days less than two full months, I’m not certain and have lost control over all my personal effects as a result of Microsoft’s criminal actions. Even if it is not quite two months, the monthly value would still work out to around 6773. Based on my calculations, I can’t see how they could produce a value closer to 6776.
There is also the matter of the extra stock options from that unusual stock split on 2/14/03. I had 2000 options from my first grant, then the split gave me another 2000. I believe Microsoft did that to create a secret reference to my participation in Operation Opera on 6/7/81, where, according to sources, each F-16 dropped two-2000 pound bombs on the target. My paychecks around that time were also about 2000 dollars. Each month, I got a paycheck during the middle of the month for slightly more than 2000 and at the end of the month I got a paycheck for slightly more than 2000.

My salary of 2002 was produced by adding 22% to my 2001 salary of 59,694. In 1981, when we made that flight to Baghdad in F-16s, each with two-2000 pound bombs, I was 22 years old.

That guy at Microsoft, Tom Devey, who looked like Ilan Ramon, told me he was from Kalispell, Montana. I was familiar with the city because I used to look at that area a lot on the map, as well as Kalispell.
When I first moved out here, I was talking with Laura Mason one Monday morning at work and she asked me what I had done over the weekend, which I think was my first weekend after starting at Microsoft. I told her I went on a road trip and she asked me where I went. She seemed surprised, I assumed because it was so far away, when I replied “Montana.” Maybe I am really from there and she knows it. One time when I was living in that Crossland hotel, I was trying to evade the people stalking me and I rushed out to my Jeep on a whim late one night and drove all the way to Missoula before turning around and heading back. I sensed that the people in Missoula at the gas station knew who I was and was reporting details about me to someone.

Microsoft had a woman sitting next to me for a long time that had hair that looked just like Linda Hamilton’s character in 1984’s “The Terminator.” I thought about that many times. I can’t remember her name. Lori-something maybe. It was when they were watching me through the window of my first “skybox” cubicle when I was in Premier Support for Developers. For the spectators outside that high-rise building in Bellevue watching me through the windows, she was on the right. Eddy Hahn, formerly of Las Vegas and originally of Hungary, was to the left. Now I think that my youngest child’s step-father is from Hungary. Sharon Bjeletich, who reminds me of Bosnia and Sarajevo, was to the left of Eddy. When I think back to her behavior, I recognize signs that she was upset because those people were watching me through the windows and they were also seeing her and the others. Microsoft later rearranged our seating and moved us to other cubicles down that aisle against the windows. But they put me at the end of the cubicle row so that only one person, Ross Heise, could be seen next to my cubicle. There were other cubicles to spectator-left, but they were perpendicular to my row and I was at the end of my row so those to the left couldn’t be seen outside. Laura Miller was closest to me and at the window cubicle of that row. The spectators might have been able to see here, I am not sure. I could tell Kirk Tavener was up to some kind of funny business because she said something one day in an exasperated tone about him being a “stealth manager.” He would routinely walk up and stand behind me so the spectators could see him standing behind. It is the same thing I have been complaining about with all these zombies lurking around me all the time. I remember sitting in that second “skybox” during the 2000 presidential election and talking to Ken Fagan about George W. Bush. Ross Heise sat next to me, then it was Eric Hussey, and then Ken Fagan.

This guy named Ridgway makes me not only wonder about the Gary Ridgway, serial killer, which is probably, especially because Gary Ridgway resembled Bill Bevan, but also another detail. I was standing in the Bellevue office when I was an ADC and had that first cubicle at the windows. Sharon told me, and then Sean O'Driscoll, that her named sounded like "big yellow tits." I sense there is a clue about his birthday, other than March 3rd, but I haven't been able to narrow it down yet.

Matthew Bunker Ridgway (March 3, 1895–July 26, 1993) was a United States Army general. He held several major commands and was most famous for salvaging the United Nations war effort in the Korean War.
With the entry of China, the makeup of the war changed. Not allowed to bomb the rear supply bases of the Chinese Army, nor the bridges across the Yalu river, the American Army moved from being dominant and aggressive into having to fight protective, delaying actions until the supply lines of China had been extended enough to allow equilibrium. Before I began to really understand all those details in the last paragraph, I puzzled for a long time about a detail from when I worked at Microsoft. My last manager, before I quit, was a guy named Jeremy Rule. I found a photo of him and some of his conspirators on the web the other day and I figured out what they were up to. He bears a remarkable resemblance to the "Wesley Crusher" character from ST:TNG and then it struck me that his title at Microsoft was none other than "Acting Manager." So I started reviewing other details from my environment there at Microsoft and I was stunned to understand what they were doing. There was the woman who worked closely to me named Ramona, which reminds me of Ilan Ramon, the Israeli pilot who flew one of the F-16's on the Osirak strike in 1981 and who was lost in Columbia on 2/1/2003. There was Tom Devey, who worked on a team where I was the technical lead, that also included Ramona, who had a remarkable resemblance to Ilan Ramon. I remember after the 9/11 attacks, Tom Devey came over to my desk to ask me if I was going to the Professional Developers Conference that was coming up, that next February I think, and I puzzled over why he seemed nervous when I told him I was flying down there too. He was probably nervous that Microsoft/Corbis was going to kill us all off because Microsoft/Corbis triggered the 9/11 attacks by revealing my covert military activities and Microsoft/Corbis needed to destroy the evidence.
There was Kirk Tavener, who seemed to fancy himself as resembling Kevin Costner, judging by the fact that Tavener put a photo of Costner in place of where Tavener's photo should have been on his intranet page. But the creepiest clue was something I just figured a few weeks ago and centers around a co-worker named Ken Fagan. For a while, I have been thinking that Fagan had a noticeable resemblance to a photo of the serial killer, John Gacy. A few weeks ago, I was puzzling over it and I remembered what I think is the key. One day when I worked there, Ken Fagan announced in email, and I found something similar a few days ago on the web, that he was changing his last name from Fagan to Cavallon. He explained that he didn't want his kids being teased because of the similarity of his name to the word "fag," which the dictionary defines as: "Used as a disparaging term for a homosexual man." Then it hit me: Gacy. It you separate that name by syllables, it becomes "Gay See." That is why Microsoft/Corbis put Ken Fagan around me. Something to do with John Gacy, the serial killer. Then I remembered Bill Bevan who also worked on my team. He had a noticeable resemblance to Gary Ridgeway, the recent serial killer in King county. I can't even begin to describe how crazy is all this. It is like being the only sane person in an 18th century mental asylum. Or maybe a 20th century mental asylum. I don't know which is crazier. The really frustrating part about all this, and it is why the police wouldn't help me all those times I went to them, in Kent, Redmond, and Seattle, is that once you are put into the mental health system, the assumption is that you do have a mental problem. All they wanted to do was drug me and no even tried to determine if I had amnesia. It reminds me of that "Frame Of Mind" episode of ST:TNG, which is probably actually based, in some part, on my captivity in Libya in 1986.
Along with some other clues I found in Rodger Claire's "Raid On The Sun," I decided that I was the leader of that mission. I have some "memories" that suggest to me that I was the one of the first two F-16's that flew over the reactor and that I was the one who made that "loop-de-loop" maneuver he writes of when "Raz" realizes he is going to overshoot the target. I decided that "Raz" is me because I believe my real last name is Ray. I have several clues in mind that support that theory but there are two that really stand out in my mind. The first was from the movie "X-Men." I don't think I have ever actually watched the movie, but one day earlier this year, I caught a glimpse of a scene where there are two F-16's chasing the aircraft the "X-Men" and "Xavier" were flying in. The first pilot ejected or crashed, I can't remember for certain without being able to shoot, but the second pilot made it long enough to fire both missiles at the "X-Men" airplane before he ejected. There was the scene that does a close up on that F-16 and on the side for his name was "Ray Gun." The second occurrence that stands out in my mind is from the movie "Star Trek: First Contact." There is that scene where "Lilly" says something about her first "Ray Gun." There is another occurrence I saw the other day from a long time ago but I don't want to get into that right now.
When I looked back to the day that I started, what I think is a conscious transition back to my real identity, I saw that it happened on May 9th. Seems strange that it should happen on that day but it is certainly an appropriate day for the re-birth of my real identity. The trigger seems to be connected with some clues I figured out on the day. That particular clue seemed to be the key that started me to become consciously aware of all these details. The clue was from the television series "Lost." I had been working on that particular clue ever since they broadcast the episode it was in. But I became homeless shortly afterwards and I never really had the mental processing time to work on it. Plus they had me drugged up for a long time so that probably had some impact on my ability to process the clues. The episode in particular is that one with the lottery numbers, which any fan of the series is sure to recognize. As soon as I watched it, I decided those numbers were latitude/longitude coordinates and I interpreted them to represent N48.15 W162.342. I mapped that out as a point somewhere in the Pacific south of Alaska. Then I plotted the distance to the beach in Hawaii where they were filming the series and then I mapped out the distance to where I was living in near Seattle. The distances were close and I felt it meant something important to me. To make a long story short, I determined that the distance from that point near Alaska was the same distance to the beach in Hawaii as it was to the temporary apartment Microsoft put me into when I stepped off the airplane to move out here in 1998. It was 1854 miles for both points. I have included an illustration below, which is not to scale. A few days ago I realized that the episode with the lottery numbers, which was episode 18 and titled "Numbers" was originally aired on 3/2/05. That was the closest date they could schedule for an airing of 3/3/05 because 3/3 wasn't on the same day of week they usually aired. Before I flew out here for that job with Microsoft, I lived in Rock Hill, South Carolina, just off I-77 Exit 82.

During a two-and-a-half-year period in the early 1980s, the Green River Killer is believed to have murdered as many as 50 women near the cities of Seattle and Tacoma, Washington. The remains of two of his victims were later found near Portland. Most of the victims were either female prostitutes or teenage runaways picked up along Pacific Highway South (Washington State Route 99) and strangled. Most of their bodies were dumped in and around the Green River in Washington, except for two victims in the Portland, Oregon area.
In the early 1980s, the King County Sheriff Department formed the Green River Task Force to investigate the murders. The most notable members of the task force were Robert Keppel and Dave Reichert, who periodically interviewed incarcerated serial killer Ted Bundy from 1984 to Bundy's execution in 1989 in the hopes of both developing a profile of the killer and manipulating Bundy into confessing to some unsolved murders he was suspected of.
Ridgway was arrested in 1982 and 2001 for charges related to prostitution. He became a suspect in 1983 for the Green River killings, in 1984 took and passed a polygraph test, and on April 7, 1987, police took hair and saliva samples that were later subjected to a DNA analysis, which provided the evidence for his arrest warrant.
On November 23, 2005, The Associated Press reported that a weekend hiker found the skull of one of the 48 women Ridgway admitted murdering in his 2003 plea bargain with King County prosecutors. The skull of Tracy Winston, who was 19 when she disappeared from Northgate Mall on September 12, 1983, was found by a man hiking in a wooded area near Highway 18 near Issaquah, southeast of Seattle.
I recognize the date 2/14/1986 as when I was shot down by anti-aircraft fire in Africa and was a Prisoner of War until I escaped on 4/14/1986. Some of these dates might be affected by time zones, which could add or subtract 1 day. I assume this information I find on the internet is correct. That 11/30/2001 date is also suspicious but I do not currently have access to proper investigative resources. I see a 1-59 clue showing up there in relation to when I was a Prisoner of War in Libya.

I don't know precisely why this movie listed below is important, in the context of my artificial and symbolic memory. I think I have thought about it more than once over the past 9 years, for some reason, although I have defintely not seen it in the past 9 years. I thought of it again today when I saw it in the video store.
I can remember watching it in the context of that first apartment in Greenville. For some strange reason, I can clearly visualize a photo I took of the television when the tape was playing and I think it was a scene of the lake. I can't remember why I took the photo. I want to say it was to test out my camera, but I had that camera for a long time and this was in 1990. I can still remember the photo there in that apartment of my new Mitsubishi television and VCR. There was a brown pair of boat shoes next to the entertainment center. There was two or more books on the shelf. One was about a programming language named Ada and I don't remember the other book. I have pondered a few times over why I "remember" that book on Ada. I got it from the library on the Wainwright but I never did read it.
These calculations suggest to me that the 1988 movie "The Great Outdoors" was timed to point to the dates 4/14/1986 and 5/13/1987. I recognize the date 4/14/1986 as when I escaped from being a Prisoner of War in Libya and I lived in the wilds of Africa until I completed my escape on 5/13/1987.

I think it is this episode where they implant a program in Data's "subconscious" to give them clues at another time.
I am growing increasingly convinced that my memories of the past are false. Some things are just too coincidental. There is something about this "April 16" theory that I cannot explain.
Consider the following about 3 notable events in my past:
My father died in August 1985, my step-brother died on Nov. 25, 1986, and there was my brush with death in that April 1988 battle. Consider the following coincidence about those dates:
The following is a list of the month numbers leading from when my father died to when my step-brother died: 9, 10, 11, 12, 1(1986), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. That period covers 15 months.
The following is a list of hte month numbers leading from when my step-brother died to my battle in April '88: 12, 1(1987), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 1(1988), 2, 3, 4. That period covers 17 months.
Those two periods cover 15 and 17 months. That is consistent with the "April 16" theory, in that 15 and 17 are to each side of 16. There is a symmetry here that is just too coincidental to be a coincidence. The Borg would probably make this kind of mistake. Or maybe I am in some kind of coma and all this is from people talking around me. Or maybe long ago, back in 1988, consistent with that recurring dream, I am still in the Persian Gulf. In the real world of 1988, we were hit with a missile about 3 minutes ago. About 1 minute ago, my compartment flooded and I drowned. All this is the creation of my dying, oxygen-starved brain trying to live the life I never got to live past the age of 22.
I've started thinking about the similarities between my father and step-brother and Picards brother and nephew. And there's the image of movie poster from Generations that I just saw: two captains, one destiny. There's the "major" that shows up, I hear people stressing something about "marine air." What does it mean? I'm getting this weird sense that I have a wife and maybe even kid(s) somewhere, which troubles me somewhat. If that is true I hope my memory clicks into place somewhere along the line and I don't have to see them as strangers. It feels weird.

I've got this memory in my head, and I'm not sure anymore if any of this is true, any event and persons, of something a classmate wrote in my 1984 senior class book. She wrote something about me being the "top guy" in the Navy. That's one letter off from "Top Gun." I've got this crazy idea that I wasn't in the Navy, rather I was a pilot, perhaps in the Marines, which is a sub-organization of the Navy. I still don't believe that is true, but those are the ideas that are building in my head. It is consistent with that TNG episode where Picard goes from a glamorous life as the captain of a starship to being a junior-level crewmember. A similar experience in modern terms would be going from being a fighter pilot, a Marine captain perhaps, to being a low-level computer guy. It fits. I still don't believe it, and I'm kinda hoping now that it is true, but I don't know. Just seems too far-fetched. Too good to be true.

There was that traffic accident in my Ford Explorer pickup in 1986 in Terra Haute, Indiana. I was turning left and a car hit me square on my right wheel, remarkably causing no body damage and only flattened the tire. The impact twisted the truck around and I almost hit a light pole but I regained control and ended up on the sidewalk. An observer said she was speeding. I was traveling from Orlando to Great Lakes.
There was that time I was refurbising the manifold valves on that Blue Chevrolet. I put the carburetor, rather the timing mechanism is was attached to, I think, in wrong and it caught fire when I started the engine. Put the fire out with my hat. Afterwards, I chastised Micheal for running away but he explained that he had been running to the nearby creek to get some water to throw on it.

Something flashed in my mind as I looked at Figure 4, but I don't know what it is. After a few seconds, I remembered a high school teacher asking me if I knew what a turnbuckle was as we were decorating the gym for the prom when I was Junior Class President and in charge of the project.
The shocks broke on that blue Chevrolet, I wrote about this a while back, and someone said they thought I was going to bounce off the road because the chassis was rolling up and down so bad when I hit bumps in the road.

I also read something about a Blue Angel that ejected from an aircraft at supersonic speeds. I wonder though if that would be as painful as what I suspect happened to me while Columbia was landing. Since the pilot is traveling at the same speed of the aircraft as he ejects, I wonder if the ejection seat rocketing upwards bleeds off most the speed of the pilot. He reaches perigee (or apogee, can't remember offhand which one represents the highest point of a ballistic arc) and then speed inherited from the aircraft is bled off and then normal acceleration from gravity takes effect.

The fox hunt organizers and the adult field judges were complimentary about my performance because I really got out there and scored the dogs. Micheal laughed during my first fox hunt when I asked if we used a shotgun or a rifle to shoot the fox. I can remember early on after I started judging, when I was still traveling with an adult, I hauled ass across this open field to get the number of a dog out by itself. We hadn't seen much that day and I wanted to score something. The dog came over to lick my hand and I disqualified it. Another time, we were around a campfire one cold night and I was lying on my back on the cold ground and he told me I was going to get sick. We always wore coveralls when we were out there. I have kept a set of those coveralls in all the years since. I think even in my Jeep until I lost it last year, I had a set of those coveralls. I can almost remember feeling naked without them. At one event, the shocks failed on my blue truck and someone commented later he thought I was going to bounce off the road because the chassis was shaking so much from any pothole I hit. Another time something went wrong with the brakes and they were screeching incredibly loudly. I can think of a lot of things like that happening. The frustration of waiting for the gas station to open up, my step-father telling me about how he had almost run out of gas in his truck.
There was that dialog with Donald Gene after I wrecked my Ford. I said: You all right? He said: Yeah, you all right? Yeah, I said. Let's get the hell out of here! I think his door opened but I had to crawl through the window because mine wouldn't open and gas was pouring out next to me.
There was something about a time in my '67 Ford with the muffler. Someone, Micheal I think, told me I could make it backfire if I turned off the ignition at some point. Why that was cool, I don't know, I guess it was a 16-year-old thing. I did it a few times and the muffler exploded. As I was writing this earlier, I found myself thinking about how curious it was that I chose the word "explosion" to describe that event. Micheal told me when I got home that my truck sounded like a log truck coming down the road.
Denzil commented on what a good shot I made on that 9-point deer I killed, I think that was 10th grade, which would have been around 1982 in my memory. I had actually missed it three times before I gave up on using the scope. Since I had raised sights on my rifle, I just switched to iron sights and nailed it. It probably went no more than a body length before it dropped. My mother was bragging to another mother whose son had shot a deer with fewer points. As I thought more about this event, I remembered some other details that leave me confused about what this event represents. One of the hunters that was out with us that day told me he had been scared because I had been yelling, screaming was the word that came to mind later, so loudly. As I remember it, it seems unusal that I was behaving like that, although it makes sense when I consider what a trophy, a glorious trophy, that deer was. Later today I was remembering my History teacher commenting on the bruises on my neck that one day, and then I started thinking about a photo of that deer hanging from a tree, soon to be skinned, with me next to it. That was off Highway 108 if I'm not mistaken, in front of Ambrus Chauncey's house.
Some time soon after mom and Denzil got married, Denzil was teaching me to drive his gray Ford pickup, which was actually a company truck. I had some problems driving it, but my red Ford was much easier for me to operate. My mother commented on how well I operated the clutch, compared to problems I had in Denzil's truck. And thinking about it more reminds me of how much I did enjoy driving my Ford. I'm not sure if I touch on this later in my notes, but I think it is obvious that Ford's are representive of Fighter's. My second truck was a Chevrolet, but I think it still represents a fighter aircraft. I have this feeling it was an F-14 and my first one was an F-16. The -14 is dual-exhaust and the -16 is single-engine. When I first got my '67 Ford, I remember it staying in the shop for a frustrating long time because it had a pre-existing problem with the steering column and Denzil wouldn't let me drive it until it was fixed.
We always went to this truck stop diner in Ashdown called Macs before we went hunting. The place was a dive but the food was good.
Could Ashdown symbolize Academy? I was thinking earlier today about the way the name Amanda sounds kind of like Annapolis. There is also that history I discovered about the name Burgess and how the first Burgess in that line was a governor of Maryland and from what I remember established a place called Londontown, which I later read has something to do with Annapolis. That would be consistent with my memory of living on Wexford in Taylors.
I was thinking there is probably some symbolism to my memories of playing sports in school. I also get the impressive I must have excelled at varsity sports. My first year of school football was the 7th grade and I was a guard, left I think but not sure, and number 62. The next year, I was 72 and a tackle, on the same side as when a guard. The next year, we moved to Ashdown and I was on special teams as well as Tight End and then Defensive End, number 46. The next year I was on the baseball team. The next year was junior year I think but I didn't do anything. The senior year, I had to take PE and we had a mixture of basketball, tennis, and some others.
I'm pretty sure I was 14 when we moved to Ashdown, which may correlate with F-14. At 16, I got the red Ford. I was probably 17 when I got the Chevrolet, but it features more prominently in my mind when I was 18. I had turned 18 early into my senior year, something to do with me being one day too young to start with the previous class.
I remember one time, with my red Ford, driving to the junior prom. I had a problem with the shifting rods that I never got fixed. It was a 3-speed manual with the shifter on the column. Sometimes the shifting rod linkage under the hood got stuck and I couldn't shift gears. This one day, I was standing there in the middle of town at a busy intersection in my white tux with the hood up to get the linkage unstuck. It wasn't so much embarassing as just annoying.
Earlier this morning, I started remembering something from long, long ago. I had completely forget about this. For some reason, remembering this memory makes me think of two things. One thing it does is to remind me that I did have an iterest in flying as a kid. For some reason, if someone would have asked me if I had been interested in flying when I was younger, I would have responded that I never had an interest in flying. And the memory was about the Canadian Air Force. For some reason, I wanted to fly for the Royal Canadian Air Force. I have no idea what that means. There was this one jet I liked, but I can't remember which model it is. I have this memory too about the Saudi's flying it as their main fighter. Now I'm thinking it wasn't Canada, it was Saudi Arabia, as in I was associated with them somehow that I can't remember now. I also remembered that Sabre driver from Korea that was something like a hero to my when I was very young. They called him Mac I think, McDonnell or McConnell, would have to look it up. I think he was a triple-Ace from Korea.
I made some notes again about that one bad fight I remember from long ago. I have been trying to keep these thoughts in sequence I made the note, but this is kind of jumbled up as more and more details have been coming back to me today. The key part to note is the detail that came to me last, at about 2 pm today. The fight was a result of me getting shot down by a chick in a bar. It ended with me standing toe to toe with this one guy. I hit him square on the jaw and left him with a noticeable bruise and I knew he remembered it for a few days at least. But then he proceeded to beat the living crap out of me. I noticed in the mirror today that I still have some kind of scar, lumpy mass, whatever, under my right eye from that. I think that is from where I was kicked in the face after I was down on the ground. I remember now telling Liz, that chick that reminds me of Picards wife from that lost world, and she told me it was barely noticeable.
Later, I was remembering how my parking spot next to our house on Hicks Road could easily symbolize being lauched off a carrier. It was dangerous because I couldn't see if there was another car coming as I powered my way up and out onto the road and some of those other people really flew down that road. I pulled out at an angle to the road, although some times I went straight up and out, depending on the direction I was heading.
The guy I remember riding with me when I crashed my red Ford was named Donald Gene. The Radar Operator from the Wainwright who was killed by his wife also had the initials D.G., as in David Gugel.
I wrote in my notes at this point, wondering what the code "winchester" meant in the Navy.
Donald Gene's father was named Ambrus Chauncey, or A.C. AC is the Navy rating designation for an Air Controlman, as I just looked up. That rating is also listed as Air Traffic Controller.
Before I got my red Ford and while we were living on Hicks Road, I got in trouble for driving my mother's Bonneville (also a 1978) too fast. That was a car that Randy Romine bought brand new for her when they were married. This car had some kind of alarm built into the dashboard. It you went above a certain speed, I believe it was over 80, the alarm would go off. I'm thinking I did that several times when driving my sister and Michael to church. In other words, I wanted to speed so they buzzer would go off. I suspect this is related to that catchphrase from Top Gun about the need for speed.
There is that song, by America?, about going through the desert on a horse with no name. That song features prominently in my memory from the time after I returned from the Persian Gulf, which was in 1988 according to my memory, but is probably some other time.
Today some station showed a clip from the first Terminator movie and it reminded me that Arnold S. in that movie resembles Mogge when he was younger.
That bad fight I remember occurred when we were away from our home port when I was on the Taylor. Oh yeah, I thought later that Taylor has a big number 50, or five-oh, on its hull. Anyway, I think this fight occurred in Fort Lauderdale. There had been some other fighting going on. Apparently a gang was luring sailors into fights and this one guy, I didn't know him well, but he was on my ship, had his face slashed with a knife after talking to a girl.
Could the U.S. Air plane crash I remember from Charlotte represent Micheal's crash? There are some common elements in my memory. One was the path of destruction, the trees that were knocked down or damaged. There was the sudden, heavy, violent thunderstorm that kicked up right before the crash. With the Charlotte crash, I wasn't that far away at a bar where, if I had been standing at the door way could have seen that plane coming in, and it also went right over my apartment at Whitehall. I could remember the precise time of the crash and what I was doing at the time.
All of this, All of this, it is my reality, I am absolutely convinced I was once, among other things, an aviator in the Navy. I just can't remember it. But I know these details I remember represents that time.

One day, I "launched" my '67 blue Chev. out onto Hicks Road. Earlier, I had been doing something with the front wheels and apparently, I forgot to tighten the lug nuts. I got about a half mile down the road and the front end started shaking violently. Just as I was about to cross over this small wooden bridge, I saw the left front wheel shot up and away down to the edge of the creek I was about to pass over. The truck dropped over to the left a little bit and I managed to keep it from running off the bridge where I stopped on the other side. I left a groove in the road from that incident.
That happened again sometime later on the way to school. Micheal had told me something looked wrong with the left wheel but I drove anyway. Shortly after that, I saw that familar sight of the wheel shooting up and away to the left as the front end slammed into the pavement. This time the spindle had broken off because it hadn't been greased. Mt future-brother-in-law went out into the field and got the wheel for me. Then a schoolbus came by. My buddy who was later an Air Force mechanic, gave me a ride to school in his midget car. Not sure what kind of car that was. Denzil was at home on vacation that day and he sent out a tow truck to get my truck.

I just read this a few minutes ago after finding it on the internet and it sure sounds a lot like what I wrote about the front wheel popping off my blue 1967 Chevrolet in my artificial and symbolic memory. It also reminds me of something I wrote long ago about a visit I made to the USS Taylor FFG-50 in 1987 when the ship was in-port in Norfolk and I was attending school in Virginia Beach, having been previously assigned to the Taylor. Since those "memories" are all completely false and artificial, there must be a reason I "remember" them. In that "memory" of visiting the Taylor, one of my former coworkers was telling me about how a target drone missile had crashed into the superstructure of the ship and someone had to go up there with a fire extinquisher and put out the fire. When I wrote about how the wheel of my truck popped off just before I crossed over a wooden bridge, I believe that bridge is symbolic of the forward edge of the flight deck. I don't know if this description below was me, as this type of accident may be relatively common, if you understand the nature of a catapult launch from an aircraft carrier. That text also reminds me very clearly of a time at night when Micheal was in a tree in the yard and I was trying to find him. It was kind of game of hide-and-seek using walkie-talkies. It took him a while to figure out that I was turning off my walkie-talkie as he would speak and then I would hear where his voice was coming from.

Broken Launch Bar Linkage
The USS Forrestal (CV-59) was on its last operational cruise in the Med in 1990. We were conducting night flight ops off the coast of Turkey in support of Operation Provide Comfort. I had just shutdown my aircraft and was walking across the flight deck when the sound of snapping metal amidst a Tomcat launch off the port waist cat caught my attention. I turned to see the F-14 sliding sideways towards the edge of the flight deck. Apparently a component of the launch bar had snapped midway through the catapult stroke sequence, giving the Tomcat only a gentle push (approx. 20-30 knots) instead of the huge kick in the butt required to get the aircraft up to flying speed. The pilot had immediately realized something was wrong, and in a split second reacted to attempt to hit the brakes and stop prior to falling off the edge into the ocean 80 feet below. As they approached the edge, a tire blew sending the F-14 sliding sideways, and the pilot judged they wouldn't stop in time and initiated ejection. As the pilot and RIO rode the seat rails up into the night, one of the F-14s main landing gear jumped the deck edge rail but miraculously stuck just over the edge, and the aircraft remained perched precariously partially over the deck edge. The RIO was soon sighted landing further aft on the flight deck, and although he received some bumps, bruises and scrapes from his ejection and rough landing on the flight deck, he was was happy to walk away from it with a good story to tell that night over midrats. Meanwhile, a full scale search was underway for the pilot. The airborne SAR helicopter had witnessed the ejection and was on the scene so rapidly that the image of the RIO floating down in his parachute canopy nearly filled their windscreen as they whipped across the fantail. They quickly set up for an approach to the datum, and commenced a hover search. Flight operations were suspended and all airborne aircraft were given instructions to hold overhead (or expeditiously recovered if low on fuel). Fifteen minutes later there was still no sign of the pilot. As the search proceeded with additional helicopters and ships in the area, the flight deck began to quiet down. An alert deck hand thought he heard a faint cry for help, but didn't see anything over the deck edge. The sound of yelling for help persisted, and suddenly the deck hand looked up, and with the aid of his flashlight, was able to make out the shape of the pilot hanging from his parachute 100 feet above him in the radio antennaes and masts at the top of the carrier's superstructure. Although the recovery of the pilot took an additional half hour, he was recovered uninjured.
I noted this photo as an example of the "midget car" I wrote about and I just noticed that the photo caption is wrong. The caption indicates the Tomcat is launching from the waist catapult but it actually seems to be landing, as it has the arresting wire connected to it. So anyway, I believe that "midget car" I wrote of on May 26, 2006, is actually the MD-3A tow tractor that is commonly used on the aircraft carrier flight deck. There are other details I recognize that are symbolic of my U.S. military experience.

This photo illustrates what I was writing on May 26, 2006, about "launching" my 1967 blue Chevrolet up and out of where I parked near our house on Hicks Road. I have written about how I would drive up and out at an angle if I was going in one direction and straight up if going in another direction. I have also written about how it was dangerous and about how other cars would "fly" down that road as I was driving out onto the road and that I couldn't see them. I believe all these memories are artificial and symbolic of my true experiences as a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier pilot. The reason for the 1967 blue Chevrolet is because the V-8 engine was dual exhaust and that is the same with the F-14 Tomcat, in that it has two engines, thus it is a twin exhaust, as the photos of the Tomcat illustrate. There is also the notion that wing pylons that carry ordnance correspond to the cargo bed of the pickup. The reason for the 1967 model years is because I first flew a fighter jet aircraft on 5/1/1967.

Taking her to the drive-in in Texarkana to see "An Officer And A Gentleman" may have been our first date, but I'm not certain. I "remember" the windows in my blue 1967 Chevrolet pickup had fogged up and I wrote out that "I love Rhonda Rochelle Ramsey" on the window, which she seemed to like, and it probably a symbolic representation of the course of my romantic relationship with Phoebe over the years. I think me writing out that message on the window is symbolic of me creating the movie "An Officer And A Gentleman" and how it relates to Phoebe and me, assuming that was my work. In my artifical and symbolic memory, Rhonda's parents were great and we all got along very well. Karen and Max were their names. Rhonda worked at Mills Store with me but what I think that represents is that Phoebe and I started dating while I was at the U.S. Naval Academy, although we had been friends for a lot longer. Rhonda gave me some kind of gag Christmas gift one time that was something to do with deer hunting. I can still "remember" her laughing. I liked her. Another time, she was giving me a hard time about me eating the cookies that were sit out next to me as I was dressed up as Santa Claus at Mills Store.

Hermes' love of limbo
Hermes was once an Olympic limbo athlete. He was competing at the 2980 Olympic Games for the Earth team when a little boy ran onto the field. As I was reading over this again, the though occurred to me that when I was flying a helicopter, I would refer to it as a bicycle. Something about being able to fly a helicopter when other kids my age were just learning to ride bicycles. Maybe that is why I was on the Sheffield. I was flying a helicopter, or I flew the helicopter there, or something. I want to say I had more responsibilities than that though, or I might just be thinking of having an active role in damage control after the missile hit the ship, which I think is the reason I have those flooding and boiler room fire "memories." That is also most likely why I lived on Dresden, which was close to Sheffield, before I moved to Whitehall, in Charlotte, NC. I lived specifically on Dresden because the Sheffield burned, and that is a reference to the Dresden of WW2. I also feel certain that the Sheffield was targeted specifically because I was onboard and every move I made was being tracked by the enemy.
I noted this also because I have been thinking for a while that Michelle Howard and I are friends from the Academy.

It is interesting to look at the map for that one place I lived, in my artificial memory at least, in Charlotte, NC. My street address was Dresden, for which I have felt some discomfort that I don't want to discuss very much, it produces something almost like dread for what I thought was an obvious reason. I started thinking more about it in terms of the Falklands War and I wonder what it means. A close-by street is named Sheffield. And that near-by park named Sheffield is I think where I remember stopping in one Saturday morning to watch some kind of Little League baseball game, which I remember enjoyed watching because it reminded me of playing baseball in my youth. All this, my apartment, the park, most of where I was riding my bicycle, was in between the two main roads Independance and Central. There is also that Sharon Amity street. Also nearby, although I don't remember actually knowing it at the time I lived there and notice it listed on the map, was the Evergreen Cemetary. I was living on Dresden when I was contract working for Microsoft Charlotte, but I can't remember if I was living there when I started or if I was still living at Arrowood.
Now I am thinking about how I graduated high school on a Friday and was in boot camp that following Monday. I believe that was May 12, 1984, and May 15, 1984, respectively. I remember that for a long time, I didn't know what it was they were doing to wake us up in the morning. All I knew was that I was suddenly awake and didn't know why. They were banging on an aluminum trash can. Since those aren't real memories, it must represent something else, something much more dramatic perhaps.
[This reminds me of a time, I wrote about this a couple years ago, on the Taylor. This guy we called Patch, a variation of his name, and I were assigned to the damage control section, or whatever it was called, of our division and we were given one of the helo workrooms to work from. We started painting over the metal cabinets for some reason, and eventually I painted a Confederate flag on one of time. I was quite proud of the work I put into it. But the Chief Boatswain Mate made me scrape if off.]
