This could be the hand signal I was thinking about a while back, from that photo of Phoebe in "Princess Caraboo." It could be the signal I saw from a deck crewman as I sat in my F-14 Tomcat preparing for the catapult launch to inform me that the canopy was properly closed and latched. That would make more sense, too, than for the signal about the ailerons, as I noted earlier. I also assume that I had Phoebe making those hand gestures in that movie because it symbolized how cryptic are the hand signals on the deck of an aircraft carrier, to those who don't know the meaning. I don't actually recall ever seeing that movie "Princess Caraboo," but I assume it also has a lot of bearing on when I was lost in Africa and was trying to communicate with the locals as I traveled through the continent.
I wonder if the Navy is encountering flak for trying to support me out here in the field in my official duties to prosecute criminal activity in King County, Washington.
