Nazi propaganda

Propaganda, the coordinated attempt to influence public opinion through the use of media, was skillfully used by the Nazi Party in the years leading up to and during Adolf Hitler's leadership of Germany (1933–1945). Nazi propaganda provided a crucial instrument for acquiring and maintaining power, and for the implementation of their policies, including the pursuit of total war and the extermination of millions of people in the Holocaust.

As to the methods to be employed, he explains:

"Propaganda must not investigate the truth objectively and, in so far as it is favourable to the other side, present it according to the theoretical rules of justice; yet it must present only that aspect of the truth which is favourable to its own side.

Episode 3 Season 1

Morgan Martin: We don't have enough rations for ourselves. Why are we subsidizing a dying horse? It makes no sense.

Alonzo Solace: The horse can't even be ridden.

Morgan Martin: We should make meal of it. Throw it on the fire. At least it would be good for something.

Bess Martin: Morgan!

John Danziger: That's the spirit. Just keep up those happy thoughts, guys. [ to Devon Adair: ] Is this the first-class section?

Devon Adair: I was just thinking.

John Danziger: Yeah? What about?

Devon Adair: Oh, about how we've been here two weeks and everybody seems to be falling apart at the seams. I thought morale hit bottom when we crashed.

John Danziger: Well, there's always further to go.

Devon Adair: You think we're cursed, Danziger?

John Danziger: Excuse me?

Devon Adair: I don't know. First, uh, we crash into the planet. Then we lose most of our supplies. Then, uh, O'Neill gets killed. And just when it seemed like we might be getting some equilibrium, there's the, uh, solar fuse, the rations, the horse dying.

John Danziger: Well, I've never been much of a believer in curses. I tend to think bad things happen for a reason. Hang in there.

Toby Jack Saunders: If that stagecoach don't leave, we are going to be in a lot of trouble. We're going to lose a lot of money.

Jess Cooney: Yeah, I know. But if those Apaches is on the warpath, I don't aim to end toes up to the sun with a lance through my grizzard for a tombstone.

Alonzo Solace: Isn't standard operation to have me verify position so you and I can hop back in a big sack if we're a couple hundred million miles off course?

Dr. Julia Heller: That's right.

Alonzo Solace: Well, you'll be happy to know that my record's intact. I haven't missed yet.

Dr. Julia Heller: Okay.

Alonzo Solace: I could postpone everyone's defrost and celebrate life a little bit. What do you say?

Dr. Julia Heller: Is that the only come-on you sleep jumpers can come up with these days?
