Sir, the pool is for decoration... ...and your friends do not have swimwear.

Well, they're European.

I'm going to have to ask you to leave. - It is not a question of money.

- Well, you see... ...I'm buying this hotel... ...and setting some new rules about the pool area.

I think the Batman deserves a medal.

Rachel, all of... All this... It's... It's not me. It's... Inside, I am... I am more.

Come on, Bruce. Come on.

Bruce, we have some more hotels for you to buy.

Bruce... ...deep down you may still be that same great kid you used to be. But it's not who you are underneath... ...it's what you do that defines you.

Sir, receiving transmissions from Initial Terminal Guidance systems on Anvil.
All is nominal.
Spread the word amongst the fleet.
The balloon goes up.
[Man On Radio] Forward port battery aligning on target now.
- Do you see it? - Just the room.
And it keeps going.
I can't tell how far.
We don't have time, and we don't know how many could be waiting.
These things on the wall- They must be some kind of underground munitions depot.
This is gonna sound really weird but something about this room feels familiar.

Davenport Grand Hotel officially opens Wednesday

SPOKANE, Wash. – After a lengthy construction, the Davenport Grand Hotel opened its doors for business on Wednesday.

The hotel, located in the heart of Downtown Spokane, features 716 rooms. Each guest room features automated black-out shades, a 55-inch 4K Smart TV that can be synced with your smartphone and certain tablets.

Other features include: walk-in marble showers, USB ports, and premium bath products. Each room also has a king bed, and some even include two king beds hotel officials said.

The hotel itself includes a Grand Restaurant & Lounge, a Starbucks in the lobby, WiFi throughout the hotel, and multi-color LED lit ceilings.

There's also a large fitness center, and an outdoor terrace that opens Friday. Another restaurant, Table 13, is scheduled for a July opening.

Another key point: There is a 900-space parking garage that is open to locals, so you do not have to be a guest to park there.

As a part of their grand opening, the hotel is holding a special rate from Wednesday until June 25 of $99 for Spokane County residents. You can book a room online at the Davenport's website.

There will be an opening ceremony and ribbon cutting taking place at 1:00 p.m.

SPOKANE, Wash. -

After nearly two years of construction and a lot of man power, the Grand Hotel is finally open to the public, and many people said Walt Worthy can pat himself on the back.

“It feels fantastic. It’s just been seven days a week for longer than I want to remember,” Walt Worthy, owner of the Grand Hotel, said.

The excitement of the hotel opening could be seen on the face of everyone who joined in on the champagne toast.

“I think it’s awesome. I think it’s going to bring almost a new life to Spokane,” Kaylen McCrae, with Visit Spokane, said.

Every detail of the 15-story, 716 room hotel was thought out and meticulously perfected. It’s unique in its own right, but fits in with the Davenport refinement.

“We’re going to follow the same concept that Louie Davenport did: make the people glad they came, sorry to leave and eager to return. If we can do that, we will have a homerun on our hands here,” Worthy said.

“I asked her to marry me in the Davenport and then we got married in the Davenport,” Chris Bornhoft, the first guest to check in at the Grand Hotel, said.

It’s hard to argue against the beauty and grandness of the building, but Chris and Marianna Bornhoft said it’s what the building will bring that makes it so important to the city.

“It’s something Spokane needs is tourism dollars. Come into town, spend money in our restaurants, shop in our stores, then go home. That’s tax revenue we desperately need,” Marianna said.

The Bornhofts believe Marriot backing the hotel as part of its autograph collection will play a big part in drawing tourists and convention center groups to the hotel, and ultimately help the city grow in years to come.

“I’m just excited for Spokane. I feel like we’re growing up and we can compete. People are starting to notice us,” Chris said.

The Grand restaurant lounge opened Wednesday. The family-friendly terrace will open Friday and the 13-table restaurant will open in the next month or so. The hotel is offering a $99 special from June 17 through June 25 for all Spokane residents. You’ll need to show them your license.

Episode Eleven

Now, do you remember a small-time crook working out of the Adara sector, goes by the name of Danny Bones? If I say no, are you gonna hit me again? I just want you to tell me the truth.
Then no, I don't remember.
Ugh, gah! Now he remembers you.
He said you were a big talker, especially after you'd had a few drinks.
In particular, he remembers one evening where you both got quite inebriated, and you told him a very interesting story.
About a secret stash on some uninhabited moon, where you've been putting away loot from all your jobs.
You said it was worth millions.
I gotta be honest, it doesn't sound like me.
Really.
Yeah, usually I just blow all my money on booze and women.

I was very disappointed with the Batman movies that started in 1989. That first one in '89 wasn't as campy as the later ones or as campy as the 60's, but it was really hard to take Michael Keaton seriously as Batman. This recent movie was much improved as was more in line with the Batman I remember from the Seventies.

I am finding it hard though to find the 'good' lately in my deteriorating predicament. They are kicking me out of here in less than ten days. And while I hate being in this shelter, it is not this shelter I hate, I just hate being in a shelter. This is probably by far the best shelter around. It is definitely better than the other shelters I have been in this summer. And so my condition is only going to become worse when I leave here regardless of where I go. The only way it could get better is to get back to the life I was trying to create.

It would be easy for me to stay here. All I have to do is come up with some kind of measurable goal, such as something like getting back into running, something that will show some kind of progress, but that is only a secondary goal at this point. I know how to manage my life and live independently, I don't need a manager for my personal life. But that isn't really the issue, the issue of someone trying to manage my personal life in the context of this shelter. What I do need is for the people that have been spying on me to step forward and admit it. That is my only goal. That is the only objective I will focus on; finding out who it is. Nothing else matters.

Gerald Ford

XXXVIII President of the United States: 1974 - 1977

659 - Letter to the Chairman and Members of the Senate Select Committee To Study Governmental Operations With Respect to Intelligence Activities

November 4, 1975

I AM writing to urge the Select Committee not to make public the report on the subject of assassinations which I understand is currently in preparation. Reviews of the Select Committee's draft assassination report by officials of the Departments of State and Defense and the Central Intelligence Agency, who examined it at the request of your Committee, have been submitted to me by the heads of those departments and the agency. Under separate cover, I am providing these classified reviews for your consideration. Their substance was previously communicated to the Select Committee staff by the reviewing officials. I also want to offer my views on this matter and appeal to the Committee not to release this report publicly.

It is my opinion that public disclosure now of information I provided to the Senate Select Committee concerning allegations of political assassination activities of the United States Government will result in serious harm to the national interest and may endanger individuals.

As I stated publicly when the allegations were published, the very idea that any person or organization within the United States Government could consider assassination as an acceptable act is abhorrent. I know you share this view and a determination to make certain that such deeds will not take place in the future.

To facilitate legitimate investigation of allegations related to assassination, I have endeavored to make available all the materials in the Executive Branch on this subject to the Select Committees of the Senate and the House and the Department of Justice. This was done under procedures designed to serve the national interest. The materials were turned over in classified form. You will recall that I said on June 9, 1975:

"I know that the Members of the Congress involved will exercise utmost prudence in the handling of such information."

It is not a question of withholding information required by the Select Committee to carry out its inquiry into these allegations which relate entirely to past Administrations of both parties. On the contrary, I have endeavored to make all of the information available to your Committee so that legislation can be proposed, if necessary, and to the Justice Department to facilitate any investigation indicated. However, we must distinguish between disclosure to the Select Committee of sensitive information and publication of that information which is harmful to the national interest and may endanger the physical safety of individuals.

There is no question about access to these materials by appropriate officials. The only issue concerns publication which obviously cannot be limited to Members of Congress and other American citizens.

Public release of these official materials and information will do grievous damage to our country. It would likely be exploited by foreign nations and groups hostile to the United States in a manner designed to do maximum damage to the reputation and foreign policy of the United States. It would seriously impair our ability to exercise a positive leading role in world affairs.

I am convinced that publication at this time will endanger individuals named in the report or who can be identified when foreign agents carefully study it. I am sure none of us want such an unfortunate result. I urge that we avoid any action that would bring it about.

I have sought to balance the competing interests involved in this matter. I made relevant intelligence information and documents available to the appropriate Committees of Congress and the Department of Justice. However, to protect our national defense and ability to conduct foreign affairs as well as the traditional American right of individual privacy, I have provided most of this information in classified form.

There can be legislation, if deemed necessary, and prosecutions, if warranted. But let us do this without the damage to the United States, which will occur if this information is made available to actual and potential enemies of the United States.

For the reasons set out above, I appeal to you and your colleagues on the Senate Select Committee to oppose publication of this report on alleged assassination activity.

I am sure the Select Committee will recognize the enormous responsibility it has to see to it that serious damage will not result to the United States by the publication of this report and will recognize also the duty which I have to emphasize the disastrous consequences which can occur by publication.

Sincerely,

GERALD R. FORD
