Juan Ponce de Leon

Now, I might be a wreck here now but I bet I could win against that two-star Army general at PT.

Eleven years after my last sane exercising what's *his* excuse?

I've seen Iraqi generals on television news that could beat that guy.

Dr. Gumpta of CNN should organize a triathlon for us.

CNN's Triathlon For Fat Generals.

The only thing that guy can guard is the buffet line.

He will clean out the buffet before the enemy gets there so victory is assured.

Because there's nothing left to defend.

With such a clear Exit Strategy he was assured his second star.

Pope Francis Prepares to Depart the U.S. Aired 7-8p ET

Aired September 27, 2015 - 19:00 ET

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

COSTELLO: All right. I'm Carol Costello along with Poppy Harlow. You're taking a live look at Philadelphia International Airport. The Pope is already on board that plane. The plane, now getting ready to take off for Rome.

What a -- it's just like hard to put into words because this visit has been such a whirlwind and the Pope has managed to fit so much in and he's left such an impression on many Americans.

[19:30:05] HARLOW: Yes, and transformed so many lives. So many lives changed by this. I know I haven't fully processed the impact just of being here in Philadelphia this weekend. You were along with him the entire way as was our Rosa Flores who we'll get to in a moment who is on board that plane. Before I do, really to you, final thoughts as we watch Shepherd One to get ready to depart.

UNIDENTIFED MALE: I think the fascinating thing is he gave us something for everybody and the fact of the matter is what you took away from this trip probably says more about you than it says about Pope Francis. So how you process, how you like, what you didn't like really is a reflections of your own passions, your thoughts, your ideologies, more than it is Pope Francis that he wanted to bring.

CHAPTER 21

STAGES

Then it was time to see Mary, F4, in her room.

"How are you doing?" he asked.

"Fine," she replied sleepily. Whatever discomfort she ought to be feeling was well submerged in the morphine drip.

"You took a little walk last night?" Killgore asked, checking her pulse. It was 92, strong and regular still. Well, she wasn't really into serious symptoms yet, though she'd never last as long as Henry had.

"Wanted to tell Daddy that I was okay," she explained.

"Think he's worried?"

"I haven't talked to him since I got here, and, I thought…" She dozed off.

"Yeah, sure, you thought," Dr. Killgore said to the unconscious form, "and we'll make sure that doesn't happen again."

CHAPTER 35

MARATHON

"I see your point. Yes, that does make sense," Dmitriy Arkadeyevich agreed, without choking on his words.

Hunnicutt nodded with some satisfaction. "I figured you'd get it, man. So, those terrorist things you got started, well, they were very pretty important. Without getting everybody all hot and bothered about international terrorism, Bill Hendriksen might not have got his people in place to do their little job. So," Hunnicutt said as he fished a cigar out of his pocket, "thanks, Dmitriy. You were really an important part for this here Project."

"Thank you, Foster," Popov responded. Is this possible? he wondered. "How certain are you that this will work?"

"It oughta work. I asked that question, too. They let me in on some of the planning, 'cuz I'm a scientist-I was a pretty good geologist once, trust me. I know a lot of stuff. The disease is a real mother. The real key to that was the genetic engineering done on the original Ebola. Hell, you remember how scary that was a year and a half ago, right?"Popov nodded. "Oh, yes. I was in Russia then, and it was very frightening indeed." Even more frightening had been the response American president, he reminded himself.

"Well, they-the real Project scientists-learned a lot from that. The key to this is the `A' vaccine. The original outbreak may kill a few million people, but that's mainly psychological. The vaccine that Horizon's going to market is a live-virus vaccine, like the Sabin polio vaccine. But they've tuned it, like. It doesn't stop Shiva, man. It spreads Shiva. Takes a month to six weeks for the symptoms to show. They proved that in the lab."

"How?"

Ironman officials cut Provo's contest in half

The full triathlon will be held in northern Idaho

Associated Press

Published: Tuesday, Sept. 3 2002 9:53 a.m. MDT

PROVO — Ironman North America will return here in 2003 — halfway, that is.

Organizers announced Saturday the event will be shortened to a Half-Ironman, meaning distances of the running, biking and swimming portions will be cut in half.

The competition is scheduled for May 31, 2003.

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, has been chosen to host a full Ironman on June 29, 2003, to replace Provo's full event, said Shane Facteau, Ironman North America spokesman.

"Obviously we need a full Ironman event in the West, but we didn't want to give up Provo, so this gives us the best of both worlds," he said.

During Provo's first Ironman event in June, John Boland, 53, Redondo Beach, Calif., drowned as winds gusted to 50 mph and swimmers battled 3-foot waves in Utah Lake.

Organizers canceled the 2.4-mile swim 20 minutes after it began, but by that time most of the 1,550 athletes already were in the water.
