But why today? Why did I dream of ICBMs today? I really wasn't all that interested in "Under the Dome." I decided I would watch it if I was awake and I was but I really didn't care if I saw it or not. A few hours before the episode began I was thinking again about that sleeping dream today and I was studying the map down by that park where I was the USS Momsen anchored that day. I haven’t been down there in years now. I was looking at Google Streetview map images and you can clearly see the Seattle Space Needle as you walk along the trail near that park.
And you know, I've been thinking, especially lately, this is all going to end. Someday I will be free of these Freaked-Out Mondays and Tuesday and every damned thing else.
I've been thinking there are hundreds and thousands of billions of habitable worlds out in the universe and I have been thinking it is all empty and I have been thinking that what I am working on gives a lot of people - but certainly not all people - here on planet Earth an escape plan someday.

Why would I care?
Despite being crazy why would such an influence appear during my craziness?
I cannot recall really being all that influenced by "The Time Machine" during my youth.
I didn't even watch the 1985 "Back to the Future" when it premiered in the theatres. I can recall specific details consistent with that point.
As for the 1960 film there is no real emotional attachment there for me. That is really the only explanation for my mindset. Emotional attachment.

I've been thinking that is why I have to father children when I become a time-traveler.
You see, the human race is doomed to failure.
It's in our brain waves. Mind control.
Somehow by me traveling backwards through time do I create the possibility people can survive.
How many human beings existed before you, Chad?
A hundred billion?
They didn't have to worry actually about Armageddon. Why should you?
I've given a lot of thought in recent years to the real possibility of immortality.
The conclusion I have reached, regardless of immortality, is that human beings are not much more than light bulbs.
We have a sense of consciousness but so does a light bulb.
I think that I am immortal but I think it is a matter of perception. A copy of a copy is not the original copy and why does that matter to a human being? We take for granted that we lose consciousness while asleep every day so why is that different from being dead? That doesn't seem to be a new concept but I think of a line of thought that is new to me. That is why I was convinced for a while that I exist only in reality artificial. I think of my basic understanding of the human brain and the human brain is subject to only a certain degree of high technology. The human brain is capable of being duped by high technology. Our eyes sense the world and if not for senses we would have no idea about the world real.
The possibility that immortality is the equivalent of a light bulb that lasts forever doesn’t seem very comforting to me. And yet we as human beings fall asleep every day and we welcome that transition every time.
Compare the difference of the 1898 book with the 1960 film and the 2002 film "The Time Machine."
Consider the possibility that proof of existence that a time-traveler exists.
Consider that I as the time-traveler influenced those works because of what you are aware of today in this year 2012.
Consider the fact that as I time-traveled always backwards I had no idea - no way of knowing for certain - that my actions were not causing the future to change.
