I had a dream last night that I was flying a desk in an office. Phoebe was there and she seemed impressed as I was pushing buttons to get whatever engine was in the desk, not unlike a VTOL contraption, to get it off the floor. I wasn't flying it very well though because it kept hitting the walls and doorway.

He held the photo under the desk lamp. It shook slightly in his hands so he tightened his grip. He and Linda and Morgan and Sharon sat on the hood of his Olds 442 with the Olympic Mountains in the background. They had taken a day trip to Hurricane Ridge. When was it? Oh yes, that day in August 1971, after their first cruise. The faces in the picture were all young, all smiling. A long time ago.
He laid the picture on the desk and stared into the shadows of the stateroom. He took a sheet of letter paper from a box in a drawer and played with his pen. He doodled awhile. He opened her letter to him and read it through several times. He examined the way the point of the pen slid in and out when he pressed the button on the top. He took the pen apart and looked at the spring and the refill and the little plastic cam. One by one, he dropped the parts into the wastebasket. The paper he wadded into a ball. He tore Linda's letter into tiny pieces and dribbled them slowly into the wastebasket.
At least Sharon had had the courage to try. He put the photo back in his safe and slammed it shut. Where did Lundeen keep his whiskey?

When memories of being above the clouds come to mind, I reminded for flying on passenger aircraft, staring out the cabin window, especially from 1984 and 1985 when I remeber flying home several times and spending a lot of time in the air.
The were two 2-man teams on the helo deck. I was usually the person in front with the guy behind me with a hook to grab the wire from the helo. I would then connect the cables.
Ah...that princess with the pink Rolls Royce....I hope I get back that memory.

ON a recent morning, royal courtiers, brows furrowed, escorted a reporter to the top of Buckingham Palace to point out some troubling disrepair: cracks scarring part of the palace’s yellow, chalky facade, where a shoebox-sized chunk of stone had toppled from the roof, narrowly missing Princess Anne’s car, and myriad tiles needing replacement. Alas, the House of Windsor, just like any other family down the street, is also struggling with a leaky roof.

PINK FLOYD LYRICS
"High Hopes"
Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun
Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway
Do they still meet there by the Cut
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay
The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder
Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide
At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world
Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times
The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river
Forever and ever
