Among the myriad sleeping dreams I tossed and turned through trying to sleep last night was one that stayed with me through the night, seeming to resurface more than once as I tried to sleep. From the perspective of my eyes, I saw myself hit the ground among a large group of people. Then I was butchering them after they attacked me. One after another I killed with it all starting with me seeing a large procession of the enemy and I was screaming "I *am* the stargate!"

I can still recall playing organized baseball in De Queen. I can vaguely visualize the first night of tryouts. I was really lousy. I can sort of recall a document I filled out. If I recall correctly I started off as the lead-off batter when I was playing for Mountaire, which was the team I was assigned to after the first night when we auditioned for a team. During team play I was left-handed so the kids pitching to me would always walk me onto first base. The way I remember it now my first-at-bat was me getting hit in the knee by the baseball from the pitcher. I can still recall that point years, or less, later that bitter disappointment I felt when they started striking me out. I can recall another kid trying to explain to me the strike zone and when I should, something something, and that's all I recall and that was great when I could just stand there and do nothing and get onto first base and I can recall being on the other bases. I don't think I played for a team after the fourth grade.

Oh, and there's a scar on my left hand that I have been wondering about but I don't feel like writing about. I remember it was after having to walk home through a bad neighborhood. I remember it was a nasty wound, bled a lot, something about nasty bandages. At first I thought it might be a bullet scar, but then I thought maybe someone had jammed a philips screwdriver between my knuckles. But there is no exit scar so I'm not sure what it means. Perhaps what ever did it didn't go down through my hand, rather went into my hand, towards my wrist and didn't exit. The oblong nature of the scar would support that possibility. It doesn't hurt though.

I was thinking about this time my clothes were filthy with salt. I remember that as a time on the Taylor but I am now wondering if it was dust, as in some kind of desert.
