Iron Eagle (1986)

I found a reference on the internet indicating that "Katie" was the girlfriend of "Doug Masters" in the 1986 movie "Iron Eagle." I assume that is because "Katie" is similar to Cates or Katz. The actress who portrayed "Katie" was born 59 days after 5/1/1967, which is the day I recognize I first flew a fighter jet by myself, when I was 8.16 years old.

From 5/1/1967 to 6/29/1967 is: 59 days

Plot summary for

Iron Eagle (1986)

When Doug's father, an Air Force Pilot, is shot down by MiGs belonging to a radical Middle Eastern state, no one seems able to get him out. Doug finds Chappy, an Air Force Colonel who is intrigued by the idea of sending in two fighters piloted by himself and Doug to rescue Doug's father after bombing the MiG base. Their only problems: Borrowing two fighters, getting them from California to the Mediteranean without anyone noticing, and Doug's inability to hit anything unless he has music playing. Then come the minor problems of the state's air defenses. Written by John Vogel {jlvogel@comcast.net}
