I can still visualize, in the context of my artificial and symbolic memory, watching that episode of "Saturday Night Live" where John Belushi was talking about Skylab crashing to Earth and killing people. I remember that he was smashing a globe with a miniature version of the Skylab during his "SNL" skit on television. That 7/11/1979 reentry of Skylab as it crashed to Earth was 3 years, 35 weeks, 6 days, after 11/2/1975. The date 11/2/1975 was when I launched into space with my Project Orion space ship to intercept the comet in the outer solar system.

Skylab was the first space station the United States launched into orbit. The 75 metric ton station was in Earth orbit from 1973 to 1979, and was visited by crews three times, in 1973 and 1974. It included a laboratory for studying the effects of microgravity, and a solar observatory.
Increased solar activity, heating the outer layers of the Earth's atmosphere and thereby increasing drag on Skylab, led to an early reentry at approximately 16:37 UTC 11 July 1979. Earth reentry footprint was a narrow band (approx. 4° wide) beginning at about 48° S 87° E and ending at about 12° S 144° E, an area covering portions of the Indian Ocean and Western Australia. Debris was found between Esperance, Western Australia, and Rawlinna, Western Australia, 31–34°S, 122–126°E. One cow was killed. An Australian municipality, the Shire of Esperance, fined the United States $400 for littering. [1] In 2004, the History Channel documentary "History Rocks" stated, in an episode covering major events of 1979, that this fine has never been paid.
Skylab's demise was an international media event, with merchandising, wagering on time and place of re-entry and nightly news reports. The San Francisco Examiner offered a $10,000 prize for the first piece of Skylab to be delivered to their offices. 17-year-old Stan Thornton scooped a few pieces of Skylab off the roof of his home and caught the first flight to San Francisco, where he collected his prize. In a coincidence for the organizers, the annual Miss Universe pageant was scheduled to be held a few days later, on 20 July 1979 in nearby Perth, Western Australia. A large piece of Skylab debris was displayed on the stage.

Carl Weathers (born January 14, 1948) is an American actor, and former professional American and Canadian league football player. He is perhaps best known for his role as Apollo Creed in the Rocky series of films.
In 1976, he starred alongside Sylvester Stallone in Rocky as Apollo Creed, a role he would reprise in the next three Rocky films in 1979, 1982, and 1985. He also starred in a number of action films, both theatrically and on television, including: Force 10 from Navarone (1978), Predator (1987), Action Jackson (1988), and Hurricane Smith (1992), he also had the role of Chubbs in Happy Gilmore. And he is briefly seen as an Army MP in just one of the three released versions of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. As a member of the cast of Predator, Weathers worked with future California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and future Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_program
The Apollo program was the third human spaceflight program undertaken by NASA, on behalf of the United States of America. Its goal — “to land a man on the Moon and return him safely to Earth [within the decade of the 1960s]” (in the words of U.S. President John F. Kennedy) — was accomplished on the 20th of July, 1969, with the Apollo 11 landing of astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and with Michael Collins orbiting above waiting to return his crewmates to Earth. To date, it is the only series of spaceflights to land humans on another world, and thus is widely respected and an inspiration to future spaceflights. The program used the Apollo spacecraft and Saturn launch vehicle, and was conducted during the years 1961 – 1975. It continued into the early 1970s to carry out the initial hands-on scientific exploration of the Moon, with a total of six successful landings. The later Skylab program and the joint American-Soviet Apollo-Soyuz Test Project used equipment originally produced for Apollo, and are often considered to be part of the overall program. As of 2007, there has not been any further human spaceflight beyond low earth orbit since the last mission in the Apollo program, Apollo 17.
Despite the many successes, there were two major failures, the first of which resulted in the deaths of three astronauts, Virgil Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee, in the Apollo 1 launchpad fire (the mission designation was AS-204, which was renamed Apollo 1 in the astronauts' widows' honor). The second was an explosion on Apollo 13, which badly damaged the spacecraft on the moonward leg of its journey. The three astronauts aboard narrowly escaped with their lives, thanks to the efforts of flight controllers, project engineers, backup crew members and the skills of the astronauts themselves (the Ron Howard film Apollo 13 dramatized this event).
The Apollo program, specifically the human lunar landings, are often cited as one of the greatest events in human history.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_program_missing_tapes
The Apollo missing tapes are the missing original recordings of the transmissions broadcast during the Apollo 11 moonwalk. The tapes included Slow-scan television (SSTV) and telemetry data. Videotapes and kinescopes of the Apollo 11 moonwalk made after the scan conversion for viewing on conventional television are not missing
The video of the Apollo 11 moonwalk was transmitted in SSTV format (see Apollo TV camera). The SSTV signals were received by the radio telescopes at Parkes Observatory, the Goldstone tracking station, and Honeysuckle Creek tracking station.[2] This signal was split and sent to a data tape recorder and to equipment so it could be converted to standard TV format for viewing on conventional television and broadcast around the world. The crude real-time scan conversion for world-wide broadcast was not done electronically, but was done by using a conventional television camera pointed at a monitor displaying the SSTV images [3]. The scan conversion reduced the contrast and brightness and introduced noise into the pictures. The raw data was recorded onto fourteen-inch reels of one inch wide, fourteen-track analog magnetic data tapes at 120 inches per second [4].
The Apollo 11 moonwalk video after the scan conversion was recorded contemporaneously onto videotape and kinescope. These recordings exist and are available to the public. (High quality video from the other Project Apollo missions exists and is also available to the public.) If the SSTV tapes are found, modern technology would allow the production of higher quality television pictures of the Apollo 11 moonwalk than were seen by the public.
There are about 2612 boxes that might contain the tapes and whose location is unknown. It is estimated that about 13,000 original magnetic tapes are missing.[6] They might be at Goddard Space Flight Center or another location within the NASA archiving system.
On August 16, 2006 NASA announced its official search. "The original tapes may be at the Goddard Space Flight Center … or at another location within the NASA archiving system", "NASA engineers are hopeful that when the tapes are found they can use today's digital technology to provide a version of the moonwalk that is much better quality than what we have today."[7]
The news that the tapes were missing broke publicly on August 5, 2006 when the printed and online versions of The Sydney Morning Herald published the story with the title One giant blunder for mankind: how NASA lost moon pictures

NASA to search attics for missing moon-walk tapes
By Seth Borenstein
The Associated Press
WASHINGTON — Red-faced because the best pictures of its glory days are missing, NASA said Tuesday it was launching an official search for more than 13,000 original tapes of the historic Apollo moon missions.
What's missing are the never-before-broadcast, clear, original videos — not the grainy, converted pictures the world watched on television more than three decades ago.
The tapes aren't lost, says the NASA official in charge of the search. But he doesn't know where they are.
Most likely they are somewhere at the sprawling Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., which misplaced the tapes originally. But they also could be stored somewhere else.
The original video, taken directly from the moon and beamed to deep-space network observatories in Australia, has never been seen by the general public or even NASA officials.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comet
A comet is a small body in the solar system that orbits the Sun and (at least occasionally) exhibits a coma (or atmosphere) and/or a tail — both primarily from the effects of solar radiation upon the comet's nucleus, which itself is a minor body composed of rock, dust, and ice. Comets' orbits are constantly changing: their origins are in the outer solar system, and they have a propensity to be highly affected (or perturbed) by relatively close approaches to the major planets. Some are moved into Sun-grazing orbits that destroy the comets when they near the Sun, while others are thrown out of the solar system forever.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_and_Jill_%28song%29
Jack and Jill is a classic nursery rhyme of Western culture.
There are many modern versions of it (many of them parodies), all sharing the same first rhyme:
Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.
Possible origins
In Norse mythology, Hjúki and Bil, a brother and sister (respectively) who, according to Gylfaginning manuscript, were taken up from the earth by the moon as they were fetching water from the well called Byrgir, bearing on their shoulders the cask called Saegr and the pole called Simul.
In Shakespeare's "Mid Summer Night's Dream" at the end of act three, it is said:
Jack shall have Jill;
Nought shall go ill;

Warship was an extremely popular British television drama series produced by the BBC between 1973 and 1977.
The series dealt with life on board a Royal Navy warship, the fictional HMS Hero. It was mainly filmed aboard the Leander-class frigate 'HMS 'Phoebe.
The originator of the idea for the series and main script editor was a serving Royal Navy officer, Ian Mackintosh. HMS Hero was - quite intentionally - portrayed as being captained by three very diverse officers in the series. Leading cast members included (portraying the Captain): Donald Burton as Commander Mark Nialls, a high flying young officer (in the first two seasons), Bryan Marshall as Commander Alan Glenn, a former Fleet Air Arm fighter pilot (for the third season) and Derek Godfrey as Captain Edward Holt, a former nuclear submariner, (in the fourth and final season). Other actors in the series included John Lee, Andrew Burt, Don Henderson, Norman Eshley, James Cosmo and David Savile.
Four series were produced, with 45 episodes made in total, which became cult TV viewing in Britain, Ireland and Australia.

HMS Phoebe (F42) was a Leander-class frigate of the Royal Navy (RN). She was, like the rest of her class, named after a figure of mythology. She was built by Vickers on the Tyne. She was launched on the 19th December 1964 and commissioned on the 15th May 1966.
Phoebe was used for the filming of the popular Warship BBC drama during the 1970s, set on board the fictional HMS Hero.

Royal gun salutes are fired to mark special occasions on certain days of the year. On these days salutes are fired from locations in London (and authorised stations in the United Kingdom) and the Union Jack is hoisted on government buildings.
Most royal gun salute days proceed as follows: the King's Troop of the Royal Horse Artillery makes a mounted charge through Hyde Park, sets up guns and fires a 41 gun salute. Then, later that same day, the Honourable Artillary Company fires a 62 gun salute at the Tower of London.
Accession Day Gun Salutes: celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the thrown, there is a 41-gun salute at 12:00 in Hyde Park and a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London, held at 13:00.
When: 6th February, however, gun salutes are not fired on Sundays, so if the 6th falls on a Sunday, the salute will take place the next day.
Where: Hyde Park (opposite the Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane) and the Tower of London
Station: Hyde Park Corner and Tower Hill
Queens Birthday Gun Salutes: celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's birthday, there is a 41-gun salute at 12:00 in Hyde Park and a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London, held at 13:00.
