"American Idol"

I looked at space shuttle flight STS-51-B because it was the 17th launch of the space shuttle. I turned 17 years old on 3/3/1976 and spent that entire year in space. I think this is supposed to be a 3-3-4 clue. The time from when I turned 17 years old to the launch of the 17th flight of the space shuttle was 3344 days.

The pilot of that 17th flight then flew on STS-33 and then on STS-44. That also creates a pointer to the '33' and '44' in that 3344.

President Gerald Ford

176 - Remarks on Awarding the Congressional Medal of Honor to Four Members of the Armed Forces.

March 4th, 1976

Medal of Honor recipients and their families, distinguished Members of the Congress, Secretary Rumsfeld, Secretary Middendorf, Secretary Reed, members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, ladies and gentlemen:

We are gathered here today to honor four Americans for exceptional military gallantry in the service of our Nation. All four of these men distinguished themselves above and beyond the call of duty. I deeply regret that one of the awards, to the late Captain Lance P. Sijan, of the United States Air Force, is posthumous. The other three, Rear Admiral James P. Stockdale, United States Navy; Colonel George E. Day, United States Air Force; and Lieutenant Thomas R. Norris, United States Naval Reserve, are here with us today.

As I noted earlier for reference: Lance Sijan the Medal of Honor recipient that President Ford indicated was not there to accept the award. Sijan was 6168 days old when I was born. The day I was 6168 days old was 1/21/1976. That is the day I recognize that I landed on the planet Mars.

I assume it was after I left Mars and before that 3/4/1976 ceremony, I hit a meteor storm that turned my flight into a one-way mission to the comet. I would only have enough oxygen left to make it to the Jupiter moon Callisto after I diverted the comet on 7/4/1976. I discovered I could manufacture oxygen on Callisto though and I was able to make it back home.

Lance Peter Sijan (April 13, 1942 – January 22, 1968) was a United States Air Force officer and fighter pilot. He was awarded the Medal of Honor, the United States' highest military award, for his selflessness and courage in the face of lethal danger.

For his bravery, Captain Sijan was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, the United States' highest military decoration. On March 4, 1976, President Gerald Ford presented Captain Sijan's Medal of Honor to his parents, Sylvester and Jane.

I recognize the date 7/2/1976 as when I intercepted the comet and set to work at diverting it. The procedure to divert the comet actually occurred on 7/4/1976, after I had traveled away several million miles from the comet.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_and_Jill_%28song%29

Jack and Jill is a classic nursery rhyme of Western culture.

There are many modern versions of it (many of them parodies), all sharing the same first rhyme:

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.

Possible origins

In Norse mythology, Hjúki and Bil, a brother and sister (respectively) who, according to Gylfaginning manuscript, were taken up from the earth by the moon as they were fetching water from the well called Byrgir, bearing on their shoulders the cask called Saegr and the pole called Simul.

In Shakespeare's "Mid Summer Night's Dream" at the end of act three, it is said:

Jack shall have Jill;
Nought shall go ill;

0.334 year after 6/7/1976. That name Taylor Hicks also reminds me of USS Taylor FFG-50 and Hicks Road in Ashdown, AR. In my artificial and symbolic memory, I lived on Hicks Road and then my first assignment in the U.S. Navy fleet after leaving that home on Hicks Road was the USS Taylor FFG-50.
