I found it somewhat humorous but slightly annoying when I saw a car commercial with a real celebrity (reminds me of Shelley's Among the stars that have a different birth by virtue of them knowing why people are following them) racing away from paparazzi while he is also taking pictures of them with his camera.

I had dream that seemed to be just a few minutes before I just woke up. I can remember the details well and visualize it well but I feel there are important details I don't now remember. The detail I do remember now is that Phoebe was expecting me to meet her somewhere and I was feeling bad because I was sitting somewhere else looking at a clock and nothing that I was supposed to be there 10 minutes ago. I can visualize her sitting in some kind auditorium and she had an empty seat next to her, waiting for me. I guess that was a long time ago because she was there with her parent but I can't visualize them. I was just about to wake up and I had the strongest sense to get up and send her an email to tell her I could not find a way to get there to her but then I realized it was all just a dream and that I didn't know how to contact her anyway. I was also thinking to myself that was not the first time I had found myself in such a dilemma.

Bill, thank you very much. And Bob Herbold, thank you for inviting me to come here today. (The next comment refers to the former Army officer who is now in MS training) I had mixed emotions about you leaving the military and coming to work here. (Laughter.) I might also point out that we have some seats that say, "Reserved for the Cohen staff," that anyone who does not want to stand up can use. Though I like the notion of having standing room only -- (laughter) But if you'd like to have a seat, we have plenty of room up front.

Coming to the Microsoft campus was something of a unique experience, as we landed in a big helicopter and I was commenting that they probably think this is "Red Dawn" -- (laughter) -- or an invasion by aliens, coming in this large helicopter.

But I always think, when I go to a campus, of my oldest son when he graduated from Bowdoin College so many years ago. He always told me about the story of the most popular professor on campus. He was popular -- he was a religion professor -- but he was popular because he always asked the same question every year on the final exam -- (laughter) -- "Discuss the wanderings of St. Paul." And the students, of course, loved him because they would wait until the final couple of days, they'd cram and they'd ace the exam the next day. Except my son's final year, when all the students walked into the classroom, they sat down, and they looked at the exam question and, you know, you could see the hands started to shake, butterflies, some became ill, and they all walked out of the room within about three or four minutes, totally dispirited, except for one student, who sat there and wrote and wrote and wrote.

The question on the exam was, "Discuss the meaning of Christ's Sermon on the Mount." And so the student took the full three hours to fill out his blue books. He finally handed them in to his professor and he walked out the center aisle with what Mark Twain would call the "calm confidence of a Christian holding four aces." (Laughter.)

And the professor looked down at the exam book and it said, "To the experts I leave the meaning of Christ's Sermon on the Mount. As for me, I should like to discuss the wanderings of St. Paul." (Laughter.)

The son of poor Texas sharecroppers, Audie Murphy became a national hero during World War II as the most decorated combat soldier of the war. Among his 33 awards was the Congressional Medal of Honor, the highest award for bravery that a soldier can receive. In addition, he was also decorated for bravery by the governments of France and Belgium, and was credited with killing over 240 German soldiers and wounding and capturing many more.

Murphy had tried to enlist in the army in his native Texas, but was rejected because he was too young. With his sister Corinne's help, he falsified his age to appear to be old enough, tried again and was accepted this time.

Audie Leon Murphy (June 20, 1926 (?) – May 28, 1971) was a highly-decorated American soldier who served in the European Theater during World War II. He later became an actor, appearing in 39 American films, and also found some success as a country music composer.

In 27 months of combat action, Murphy became one of the most highly decorated United States soldiers of World War II. He received the Medal of Honor, the U.S. military's highest award for valor, along with 32 additional U.S. and foreign medals and citations, including five from France and one from Belgium.

Murphy's successful movie career included the extremely popular To Hell and Back (1955), which was based on his book of the same name (1949). He also starred in an impressive 39 Hollywood films. He died in a plane crash in 1971 and was interred, with full military honors, in Arlington National Cemetery. Audie Murphy's grave site is the second-most visited grave at Arlington, after that of President John F. Kennedy.


After the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, Murphy (then just 15 years old) tried to enlist in the military, but the services rejected him for being under age. In June 1942, shortly after his 16th birthday his sister Corrine adjusted his birth date so he appeared to be 18 and legally allowed to enlist, and his war memoirs, To Hell and Back, maintained this misinformation, leading to later confusion and contradictory statements as to his year of birth. Murphy was accepted into the United States Army, at Greenville, after being turned down by the Marines and the paratroopers for being too short (5 feet 5.5 inches (166.4 cm)) and of slight build. He was also turned down by the Navy for being slight of build.[unreliable source?] He was sent to Camp Wolters, Texas, for basic training and during a session of close order drill, passed out. His company commander tried to have him transferred to a cook and bakers' school because of his baby-faced
youthfulness, but Murphy insisted on becoming a combat soldier. His wish was granted: after 13 weeks of basic training, he was sent to Fort Meade, Maryland for advanced infantry training.

RACKETEER INFLUENCED AND CORRUPT ORGANIZATIONS

Ensign urges Clinton to quit

WASHINGTON -- Rep. John Ensign, R-Nev., thinks President Clinton should resign rather than face possible impeachment.

"I came to that conclusion recently, and frankly it's because of what he put his whole Cabinet through and what he has put the country through," Ensign said Thursday, becoming the first member of the Nevada delegation to call for Clinton to quit. "He has no credibility left."

At a Jan. 23 meeting between Clinton and Cabinet officers the president denied allegations of a sexual relationship with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Cabinet members rallied behind the president after the meeting, telling the media they did not believe the allegations. Since then the president has admitted to an "inappropriate relationship" with the young woman.

"Think about it. He sent taxpayer-paid staff out to lie for him, and that is a misuse of office," Ensign said.

WASHINGTON -- Republican Sen. John Ensign said today his parents paid the family of his mistress $96,000 in April 2008, as she and her husband were ending their employment with him.

In a statement issued this afternoon, Ensign said his parents made the gifts "out of concern of the well-being of the longtime family friends during a difficult time."

Earlier today an ethics group that has sought probes of Ensigns reported severance payment to Cynthia Hampton asked for a Department of Justice criminal investigation into the matter.

Ensign said his father, a Las Vegas casino mogul, and mother gave payments of $12,000 each to Cynthia Hampton, her husband, Doug, and two of the couple's children.

Ensign said today he has no plans to resign and intends to continue his work despite ongoing questions about his affair.

Sen. John Ensign today acknowledged an extramarital affair with a member of his campaign staff.

The affair took place between December 2007 and August 2008 with a campaign staffer who was married to an employee in Ensign's Senate office.


Ensign read a brief prepared statement Tuesday afternoon at the Lloyd George Federal Building in downtown Las Vegas in which he expressed regret and took no questions.

"I came back home to Nevada to come forward to explain to the citizens of our state something I was involved in about a year ago. Last year I had an affair. I violated the vows of our marriage. It is absolutely the worst thing I have ever done in my life," Ensign said.

Sen. John Ensign today acknowledged an extramarital affair with a member of his campaign staff.

The affair took place between December 2007 and August 2008 with a campaign staffer who was married to an employee in Ensign's Senate office.


Ensign read a brief prepared statement Tuesday afternoon at the Lloyd George Federal Building in downtown Las Vegas in which he expressed regret and took no questions.

"I came back home to Nevada to come forward to explain to the citizens of our state something I was involved in about a year ago. Last year I had an affair. I violated the vows of our marriage. It is absolutely the worst thing I have ever done in my life," Ensign said.

A bomb goes off at the Gotham City World's Fair revealing a riddle which leads Batman and Robin to the Peale Art Gallery. The duo find out it's a trick from the Riddler who serves them subpeonas.

Batman must find out the Riddler's sceme or he must reveal his true identity. Robin finds two clues in the papers and they head to a diso where he unfortuneatly cannot get in. Batman's drugged by the Riddler's assistant, Molly.

Batman's drugged and Robin is tranquilliezed by the Riddler, who in turn tries to steal the Batmobile. The Riddler attempts to blow the Batmobile up after he kidnaps Robin. Batman races out to the Batmobile but in his incompacitated condition, he is forced to turn his keys over to the police.

The Riddler attempts to operate on Robin.
