Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II: I suppose that is some consolation.

[ sound of bagpipes playing ]

Title card: London, 2 May 1997

[ clock ticking ]

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II: Good morning.

Her Majesty's staff: Shall I draw the curtains?

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II: Yes, please. So, did you stay up all night?

Her Majesty's staff: Yes, ma'am.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II: And was it as expected?

Her Majesty's staff: Yes, ma'am. Mr. Blair, by a landslide.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II: Oh, I see.

Television announcer: They've stopped the traffic completely for Tony Blair's first day of power in London.

One day when I was in the gulag in Pioneer Square, there was a choir that came in and performed down in the cafeteria. It must have been a Tuesday because I think we had that weekly house meeting that day and they were still in there. I think they started during the dinner meal. It may have been around last Christmas. I remember thinking they had sure traveled a long ways to be there. Were they not from Princeton University??!!

JOURNAL ARCHIVE: 9/28/2006 6:56 PM
I think it was this group. Whoever they were, they were very good.

I see there is also a Chamber Choir, so it might have actually been that group.

My role in this operation was over when I walked out of Microsoft on 2/4/2004. The Navy should have brought me when I communicated with that Navy HR person in email a few weeks or months later.

Instead, I just got more knives in my back, obviously.

JOURNAL ARCHIVE: 03/21/07 3:47 AM
The date 2/6/2004 was 1139 days. Every one of those days a reminder that I live in a country of cowards.

I'm going to pin my Global War On Terrorism Medal to Karl Rove's corpse.
