§ 1505. Further review
(a) Subsequent Review.— The Secretary concerned shall conduct subsequent inquiries into the whereabouts and status of any person determined by the Secretary under section 1504 of this title to be in a missing status.
(b) Frequency of Subsequent Reviews.— The Secretary concerned shall conduct inquiries into the whereabouts and status of a person under subsection (a) upon receipt of information that may result in a change of status of the person. The Secretary concerned shall appoint a board to conduct such inquiries.
(c) Action Upon Discovery or Receipt of Information.—
(1) Whenever any United States intelligence agency or other element of the Government finds or receives information that may be related to a missing person, the information shall promptly be forwarded to the office established under section 1501 of this title.
(2) Upon receipt of information under paragraph (1), the head of the office established under section 1501 of this title shall as expeditiously as possible ensure that the information is added to the appropriate case file for that missing person and notify
(A) the designated missing person’s counsel for that person, and
(B) the primary next of kin and any previously designated person for the missing person of the existence of that information.
(3) The head of the office established under section 1501 of this title, with the advice of the missing person’s counsel notified under paragraph (2), shall determine whether the information is significant enough to require a board review under this section.
(d) Conduct of Proceedings.— If it is determined that such a board should be appointed, the appointment of, and activities before, a board appointed under this section shall be governed by the provisions of section 1504 of this title with respect to a board appointed under that section.

Did I really command STS-82 as my final space shuttle mission to date?
I wonder if I created that dialog in the 1996 "Independence Day" about how "Hiller" would not get to fly the space shuttle if he married a stipper because I was planning to launch my final mission to date on 2/11/1997. But the dialog I think is about Kerry Burgess and how he was going to marry a woman who worked as a stripper. I had a consistent and extensive line of thought recently that the woman is Lindsay Dawn Mackenzie but then I looked her age and she seems too young. Her age could be wrong though and to make her look a couple years younger.

I was thinking later that as Thomas Reagan, I was introducing Kerry Burgess to women that my talent agency represents and Mackenzie was one of the women he was dating. I have no idea why this all contradicts my memory.
But then, yes, I do understand: I don't have the true memory of Kerry Burgess because I am not Kerry Burgess. I am living the life of a version of Kerry Burgess that I constructed from his real life and from a cover story I created for him. It is no different than these other people I write about, just that Kerry Burgess did not have a public persona.

She is from Britain, too, I vaguely recall reading a long time ago. That would make sense that I would set up Kerry Burgess with her around the time of the 1994 "Princess Caraboo" and especially important the film "Timecop" that premiered the same day and with his wife's confusion about why he looked older than he should. I also recall that Mackenzie started off as a "Page 2" girl which is something about a newspaper in Britain that has a photo at different times of a woman with her bare chest exposed and so that makes even more sense.

I have been having some thoughts lately that the Roberts was actually hit by a torpedo in April 1988. Then I started to wonder why they didn’t fire more to finish it off. But then I thought that maybe they expected the mines to finish it off. They timed the attack with the Roberts entering the minefield. I also think I was on the Roberts at the time and that would explain a lot. I wrote about a “memory” I have of being in Gitmo back in 1985 while the Taylor was down there for shakedown. I wrote about a large metal buoy that was floating near that island where the Navy used to store anchor chain. I have these vague thoughts of being thrown around in a Boston whaler I was in by myself one night while the rest of the guys were on the nearby island, where we were having a party. I was thrown around in the boat because I hit that big metal buoy. Then I have some “memories of towing it in to the island. I think the boat represents that I was on the
Roberts at the time of the explosion. The memory of my towing the buoy may represent those thoughts I have described of towing the unexploded mines away from the Roberts so they wouldn’t drift into it and sink it. But I am confused as to whether I towed them away while swimming, with a rope tied to me and the mine, which would actually explain other thoughts, or whether I used the Roberts motor whaleboat to tow away the mines. Those whaleboats are mostly fiberglass as I recall, but the machinery is all metallic of course, and I think there are miscellaneous metallic pieces on it. Maybe I did both as the reports I read indicate there were three mines floating nearby after the explosion. I am thinking I towed them off to a safe distance where they could be detonated with a rifle from a hovering helicopter. I also need to think more about that day we were out boating in the bay at Gitmo. I have been “remembering” a lot of details from that time, but
I am not sure what it means. We had a small flotilla of whalers and one large pontoon boat crossing the bay heading towards that island. I remember I had the beer in my boat. One of the other boats wanted some beers so I was throwing beers into their boat as we sped across the bay. At one point, I threw a beer and it was impaled on the other boats anchor. At another point, we couldn’t get the pontoon boat started again after we made landfall on the coast of the other side of the bank and had to fire a flare to notify the marina to send out a power boat to tow it back across the bay. I also remember some very specific, but confusing thoughts a long time ago that I was on the Roberts when it hit the mine and then I was on the Wainwright for Operation Praying Mantis. It made no sense and seemed just random thoughts. But I am wondering if it is true. I am thinking though that the Wainwright actually represents the USS Chandler and I was in charge of a
SEAL platoon embarked on the Chandler. In my “memory,” the SEALs didn’t have to go aboard the GOSP but I am wondering if that is true.

I guess not. I could have sworn that I wrote about how the scene of Wesley Snipes characters firing a shot at that one US Marshal who is later killed in that 1998 film made me think of that line of thought. I was standing in that lobby and the fugitive came back down the stairwells and I saw his legs and I knew he had a gun but I could not recognize him and we fired about the same time and I killed him while he hit me in the shoulder. I could have sworn I recorded in my journal about being transported out in the ambulance.

WASHINGTON - Former Playboy playmate Anna Nicole Smith, who made her fame as a topless dancer, diet-pill hawker, reality-TV star and the bankrupt widow of a Houston oil tycoon, will get her day at the U.S. Supreme Court.
The high court, which begins its new term next week, agreed Tuesday to hear Smith's appeal in the bitter dispute over the fortune of her late husband, J. Howard Marshall II.
Marshall, one of Texas' wealthiest men, married Smith in 1994, a year after she was named Playmate of the Year. He was 89; she was 26. The two had met three years earlier, when Smith was working at a Houston topless club.
Since Marshall's death from pneumonia in 1995, Smith has been locked in an ugly fight with his son, E. Pierce Marshall, over millions of dollars she claims her late husband promised her.
But the issue before the Supreme Court is not nearly as sexy as the saga so far.
In a case to be argued next year and decided by summer, the justices will decide only one question: When can federal courts hear claims that are also involved in state probate proceedings?
"He is not going to give up," Margulies said of Pierce Marshall. "So Anna Nicole and her bevy of contingency-fee attorneys should not be counting their money just yet."

Spirit shot and transmitted a picture yesterday to show the position of its robotic arm. "The arm is exactly where we expected," said Jennifer Trosper, mission manager at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif. It is still extended in the same position as when the rover developed communication and computer problems on Jan. 22. A mineral-identifying instrument called a Moessbauer spectrometer, at the tip of the arm, is positioned at a rock nicknamed Adirondack.
Engineers have been carefully nursing Spirit back toward full operations for the past week. They are sending commands today for the rover to begin making new scientific observations again, starting with panoramic camera images of nearby rocks. Today's commands also tell the rover to send data stored by two instruments since they took readings on Adirondack last week -- the Moessbauer spectrometer and the alpha particle X-ray spectrometer, which identifies the chemical elements in a target.
"We know we still have some engineering work to do, but we think we understand the problem well enough to do science in parallel with that work," Trosper said. Several attempts to get a full trace of data related to the rover's problem have only partially succeeded. The engineers might choose to reformat the rover's flash memory in the next few days.

Ex-stripper's love worth $88 million, judge rules

SANTA ANA, Calif. — A federal-court judge awarded former Playboy centerfold Anna Nicole Smith more than $88 million of her late multimillionaire husband's estate yesterday, finding she truly loved the 90-year-old Texas oil tycoon though his fortune was the "central facet" of their romance.
The ruling is the latest action in a legal soap opera that has bounced between courts in California and Texas for six years.
The case centered on the former stripper's claim that her husband, J. Howard Marshall, promised to leave her half his fortune and on whether Marshall's son and sole heir, Pierce Marshall, tried to swindle her.
Judge David Carter agreed with Smith — to a point. He ruled she was entitled to half of the investment income he earned during their brief marriage, plus $44 million in punitive damages because of her stepson's "willful, malicious" plot to deceive her.
On June 27, 1994, the day Smith married a man she called "Paw Paw," J. Howard Marshall was 89 years old. He died 14 months later.
