As I was trying to go to sleep last night, in what would turn out to be another restful night, I got out of bed to write down something else. I wondered if that period when I was in school from Feb. 1986 to June 1987 actually a time when I was missing. I have had many thoughts that I was shot down in Africa and had to make a long journey to return. Not sure if I was a captive. Maybe I was captured by locals at some point, but managed to escape and continue trying to get back. I was thinking a while back about a book I read a long time ago that is somewhat similar. The thing is, I wonder if I actually read the book or whether the memory of reading the book with a similar story line to my experiences was implanted in memory to deflect my memories of those actual events.
anyway, I'm not sure about the timeline because the Stark was hit in May 1987 and I am not certain what that incident even means to me. Was the Stark transfering me back to another ship or a port? I don't know. But it certainly is good to get a good night's sleep again. But they are keeping me in this limbo so they can steal as much of this story as possible.

"What we have here, General, is a binary solution set." The colonel responded like a true mathematician. "Choice one, we maneuver the birds and risk the fuel loss. Choice two, we don't maneuver the birds and risk having them taken out. Once they close to fifty miles, they can achieve intercept and negate our bird in as little as five minutes. Maybe faster. Five minutes is only the best we've observed them to do. Sir, you have my recommendation." The colonel had a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Illinois, but that was not where he'd learned to back generals into corners.

One day when I was in the gulag in Pioneer Square, there was a choir that came in and performed down in the cafeteria. It must have been a Tuesday because I think we had that weekly house meeting that day and they were still in there. I think they started during the dinner meal. It may have been around last Christmas. I remember thinking they had sure traveled a long ways to be there. Were they not from Princeton University??!!

NAIROBI, KENYA - A U.S. Navy destroyer helped sailors retake control of their vessel Tuesday in a deadly battle with pirates after the North Korean-flagged ship was hijacked in the piracy-plagued waters off Somalia, the American military said.
Robertson, the 5th Fleet spokesman, said coalition ships fired on and sank two pirate skiffs tied to the Golden Nori on Sunday night.
A Navy photo showed one of the skiffs burning after being hit by a gun aboard the USS Porter, a guided-missile destroyer.
Robertson could not confirm CNN reports that the Japanese tanker was filled with highly flammable benzene. But, she said, "We were aware of what was on the (Golden Nori) ship when we fired."

Hope faded Thursday of finding 11 missing offshore workers alive as the sun set on a second day of searching and the massive drilling rig that exploded into flames late Tuesday night sank into the Gulf of Mexico.
With the fire doused and the rig submerged, the Coast Guard launched a sweeping effort to clean up petroleum spewed into the water and seal off a well at the sea floor that may have still been leaking oil.
As it did, investigations began and questions continued to swirl about the cause of the accident at the Deepwater Horizon, a half-billion-dollar rig owned and operated by Swiss-based Transocean that was under lease to BP.

§ 2388. Activities affecting armed forces during war
(a) Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully makes or conveys false reports or false statements with intent to interfere with the operation or success of the military or naval forces of the United States or to promote the success of its enemies; or Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully causes or attempts to cause insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty, in the military or naval forces of the United States, or willfully obstructs the recruiting or enlistment service of the United States, to the injury of the service or the United States, or attempts to do so— Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.
(b) If two or more persons conspire to violate subsection (a) of this section and one or more such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each of the parties to such conspiracy shall be punished as provided in said subsection (a).
(c) Whoever harbors or conceals any person who he knows, or has reasonable grounds to believe or suspect, has committed, or is about to commit, an offense under this section, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.
(d) This section shall apply within the admiralty and maritime jurisdiction of the United States, and on the high seas, as well as within the United States.

§ 2382. Misprision of treason
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States and having knowledge of the commission of any treason against them, conceals and does not, as soon as may be, disclose and make known the same to the President or to some judge of the United States, or to the governor or to some judge or justice of a particular State, is guilty of misprision of treason and shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than seven years, or both.
