In that racketeering production "Battlestar Galactica" television series episode I reference below, there is dialog in the following episode about a dying battery. They follow the signal in the "Revelations" episode to the nuked planet Earth, devoid of life and that is the first planet Earth, with this planet Earth being given that name in the final episode, and "Kara Thrace" says she has found the signal for the emergency distress beacon of what turns out to be her spacecraft with supposedly her dead body in it, and there is dialog about how she can't pinpoint the exact location because the battery in the emergency beacon must be growing too weak to transmit. That episode with the dialog about the weak battery did not premiere until 16 January 2009.
I was walking on the sidewalk over the Battery Street tunnel almost everyday back in the year 2008 and I didn't even know that. I only knew that recently when I looked at it on the map.

I just woke up from a nap and I am not certain how I was asleep. About 3 hours I guess. I remember it was still dark outside. Anyway, in the dream I had just before I woke up, I woke up and I was in the back of that red 1967 Ford pickup I have written about. I find myself thinking my wife was back there with me and asleep too but after waking up and pondering the dream, I am not certain that was her. I cannot visualize that woman but I can visualize one certain detail, which is puzzling and vague, about her outline or silhoulette that makes me think that woman was not really my wife. In the course of the dream, it does not matter though. So in the dream, I woke up and I noted two items in the bed of the truck. One was a power drill. The other was some kind of jacket similar to those light jackets I wear today. The cord of the power drill was wrapped all around something; perhaps the jacket and there is something about that I cannot remember. I find myself thinking that there must have been a soaking rain while I was asleep because the jacket is soaking wet and everything else in the bed of the truck appears to be wet from the rain. So at some point, I tried to start the engine of the pickup, which is puzzling because I was in the cargo bed. I cannot actually remember seeing me trying to start the engine so I do not know how I was doing it but I vaguely recally turning some kind of switch and I guess that switch was in the cargo bed. So I turned the switch and I was not too surprised that the engine would not start and that the battery was dead. The engine turned over a couple of times but then the battery died before the engine started. I looked behind the truck and I noted the was a long hill behind the truck so I was going to roll the pickup down the hill and jump start it. Before I could though, I saw the pickup pull out from where it was parked with me in the cargo bed, seeemingly alone by now although I am not certain but there was nothing else about that woman to indicate she was my wife, and I noted that Adam Carolla was behind the wheel. I can vaguely visual where we had been parked and it was on that street in front of the QFC that is now closed that I used to go to that is nearby and over by the Key Arena. The observation about the hill works for the physical location, although as with the next hill, the hills are steeper and longer in my dream. So I don't know how Adam Carolla has got the pickup moving but apparently he is going to try the same thing in terms of jumpstarting the engine by getting it moving down another hill that is ahead and to the left of where we had been parked in front of the old QFC building. The first hill I had noted would be that cart path that seems to be the property of the Key Arena while in my dream, it was a regular city street. So at some point, I am thinking that the people in the cab with Adam Carolla, as there seems to be more than one, can hear me but they are talking among themselves and I don't think they can hear me. So I am looking through the back window of the pickup and I see that Adam Carolla has gained enough speed to get the engine started but it looks as though he is not going to stop soon enough to keep from hitting the rear end of a police car. I can visualize the rear tires of that pickup at this point in the dream so that could mean the tires were screeching. I also think that was a Seattle City police car, judging by the color and certain other details I could see. So he is not going to stop in time so he swerves to the left into the turning lane that goes into some parking lot and I do not recognize the surrounding, unless it is somewhere in Redmond, and apparently he hopes that the left turn signal will illuminate in time so they can swerve into the parking lot. Judging by the dialog among Adam Carolla and the passengers, the light does not illuminate but they manage to swerve into the parking lot anyway ahead of the traffic in the other lane. The reaction from the passengers and Adam Carolla might be the result of them seeing the police lights turning from that police car in response to Adam Carolla traffic infraction and apparently they were anticipating getting a traffic ticket. At this point in the dream, I seem to be just sitting in the back of the truck and no one is paying attention to me and the Seattle cop walks up to Adam Carolla and there is some dialog and I hear someone say, "I am still going to need to see your license, Ray." I am not certain who said that though, although I could see that Adam Carolla was holding out his drivers license through the window for the Seattle cop. I also do not think that dialog was directed at me but at Adam Carolla, who apparently, based on dialog I have listened to on his radio program, has a friend named Ray. I am not certain who is his friend Ray, but at one point from the dialog on his radio program, I thought he was a monkey. So anyway, that was the end of the dream and I note that the woman was again in the cargo bed with me, if she had ever left, and I do not know if she really was my wife and as with earlier scenes, I cannot actually visualize her.

Lithium is a chemical element with the symbol Li and atomic number 3.
Trace amounts of lithium are present in the oceans and in some organisms, though the element serves no apparent biological function in humans. Nevertheless, the neurological effect of the lithium ion Li+ makes some lithium salts useful as a class of mood stabilizing drugs. Lithium and its compounds have several other commercial applications, including heat-resistant glass and ceramics, high strength-to-weight alloys used in aircraft, and lithium batteries. Lithium also has important links to nuclear physics: the splitting of lithium atoms was the first man-made form of a nuclear reaction, and lithium deuteride serves as the fusion fuel in staged thermonuclear weapons.

Revelations (Battlestar Galactica)
"Revelations" is the twelfth episode in the fourth season of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. It first aired on television in the United States on June 13, 2008. The episode serves as the mid-season finale of the fourth season
The Cylons, led by D'Anna Biers (Lucy Lawless), decide to take Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) and the Colonial soldiers aboard the Basestar hostage to bargain for the secretive "Final Five" Cylons currently on the Battlestar Galactica. Before the departure of Admiral William Adama (Edward James Olmos) from the Basestar, President Roslin secretly orders him to attack and destroy the Basestar, in the event that negotiations between the Cylons and Humans go poorly. D'Anna asks initially that the four can leave at their own will, but after Tory Foster (Rekha Sharma) joins them, D'Anna reneges and starts to order the execution of her hostages. Adama subsequently passes along Roslin's order to his son and acting President Lee Adama (Jamie Bamber), who reluctantly agrees.
After Tory's defection, Colonel Saul Tigh (Michael Hogan) admits to his friend and commanding officer that he too is a Cylon in order to prevent what he sees as useless slaughter. Tigh even offers himself up to be airlocked as a bargaining chip. Horrified, Adama orders Tigh to be arrested. As Tigh is escorted away, Adama tears apart his office in a fit of rage and despair. Lee uses Tigh's life, as well as those of fellow Cylons Samuel Anders (Michael Trucco) and Galen Tyrol (Aaron Douglas), as leverage, but D'Anna refuses, at one point arming the Basestar's nuclear weapons. Gaius Baltar (James Callis), also a hostage, tries to reason with D'Anna.
Kara "Starbuck" Thrace re-inspects the Viper fighter she was piloting in the third season finale "Crossroads" after being requested to by Tigh, Samuel, and Tyrol, and discovers a hidden signal being received by the fighter. She halts the execution of Tigh, and explains to the Galactica's crew that she presumes the signal originates from Earth. Though everyone agrees that it is unlikely, D'Anna and Lee form an alliance to find Earth.

Edward James Olmos ... Admiral William Adama
Having accomplished its mission, the rebel Cylon Basestar joins the Colonial fleet. D'Anna Biers distrusts their former enemies and makes it quite clear that she will execute President Roslin and all of the others from the Colonial fleet hostage unless the four of the Final 5 in the fleet are allowed to leave and go to the Basestar. Acting President Lee Adama realizes that if he lets the four go to the rebel ship, nothing will prevent D'Anna from simply jumping away and leaving them behind. A tense stand-off ensues with both sides threatening to destroy the other with their nukes. Tory Foster goes to the Basestar on the pretense of taking Roslin her medication. Saul Tigh finally tells the Admiral the truth and soon the other two are known. Starbuck meanwhile notices an anomaly in the navigation system of the pristine Viper she brought back to the ship. She believes it is a signal from Earth.

Chilling details of a Seattle flight revealed
Powerless airliner barrels to landing
By JAMES WALLACE
P-I AEROSPACE REPORTER
The 185 passengers on an American Airlines 757 en route from Seattle to New York had no way of knowing the serious trouble their jet was in last month when the pilots switched to backup battery power because of a problem that occurred soon after takeoff.
Those batteries supply power to the plane for only about 30 minutes. But nearly two hours later, with the jet in cruise flight over Michigan, the electrical systems in the cockpit and, then, the cabin began to fail because the batteries were drained.
Without power, the plane's intercom went out and a flight attendant had to pass a note under the cockpit door to communicate with the crew.
As Flight 268 made an emergency landing at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, vital systems to control the jet were not working, including some wing flaps. When the jet touched down, the engine thrust reversers did not work to slow the Boeing 757-200 and it barreled down the runway, leaving a long trail of skid marks as the pilot pushed hard on the brakes to try to stop.
The jet did stop, finally, with all three main landing gear intentionally off the side of the pavement in the grass and the nose of the plane only 100 feet from the end of the blast pad pavement, which extends some 397 feet past the departure end of the runway.
Although none of the passengers or seven crew members was injured, the full story of what happened on that Sept. 22 flight from Seattle was not known until this week, when the National Transportation Safety Board released a preliminary report.
John Nance, an aviation safety expert in Tacoma and noted aviation author, said Friday that commercial jetliner pilots know the backup batteries will last only about 30 minutes. He was not familiar with the NTSB findings in this case, but he said he does not believe the pilots would have continued on with the flight if they had realized they were flying only with battery power.
"They could not have known," he said. "I just can't imagine they knew they were on battery power and would have elected to continue with the flight."
An American Airlines representative was not available for comment late Friday.
The NTSB preliminary report gave this account of what happened:
At some point after taking off from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the plane experienced an apparent electrical problem and pilots used a reference handbook to troubleshoot. They turned the standby power selector to the "BAT" position, the safety board said.
The handbook states that the battery will provide power for about 30 minutes.
"The airplane system stabilized with several items inoperative and the captain contacted maintenance technical support and subsequently elected to continue the flight on battery power," the safety board said.
The flight crew then reviewed procedures for recharging the main battery.
"With the standby power selector in the BAT position, as selected by the flight crew, the main battery provided power to the hot battery bus, the battery bus, the AC standby bus and the DC standby bus," the safety board said. "In addition, the main battery charger was not receiving power and thus the battery was not being recharged. When main battery power was depleted, all four of the aforementioned buses became unpowered."
About an hour and 40 minutes after the pilots switched to battery power, with the plane over western Michigan, cockpit instruments began to fail.
The pilots decided to turn around and land at O'Hare.
The public address system in the cabin went out, as did the interphone that allows the flight attendants to communicate with the pilots.
"A flight attendant wrote a note and slipped it under the cockpit door to inform the flight crew of their communication problems," the report said.
After the crew informed the flight attendants the plane was diverting to O'Hare, a flight attendant walked through the cabin to explain what was happening to each passenger.
As a precaution, the pilots declared an emergency before landing.
"As the airplane neared the runway on final approach, the flight crew discovered that the elevator and standby elevator trim systems were inoperative. The captain then assisted the first officer on the flight controls and the approach to land was continued. The systems required to slow the airplane on the runway appeared to indicate normal, and with the elevator control issues the flight crew did not want to perform a go-around to land on a longer runway. Pitch control of the airplane was difficult so the flight crew elected to stop the flap extension at 20 degrees. The touchdown was smooth despite the control issues, however, the thrust reversers and spoilers did not deploy. The captain attempted to manually deploy the thrust reversers, but still was not sure if they deployed. The captain was concerned about the brake functionality and accumulator pressure so he made one smooth application of the brakes, which did not 'perform well.' Due to obstructions off the end of the runway, the captain elected to veer the airplane off the left side of the runway into the grass."
The report noted that as the plane landed some 2,500 feet down the runway, witnesses heard "loud pops."
"Skid marks from the left main gear were evident near the point of touchdown and 165 feet further down the runway skid marks from the right main gear were present. These skid marks were visible for the entire length of the runway up until the airplane departed the pavement."
After the 757 came to a stop, the flight crew was not able to shut the engines down with either the fuel cutoff valves or by extending the fire handles, the safety board said. The engines were subsequently shut down by depressing the fire handles.
The safety board will eventually issue a final report and could make safety recommendations to the Federal Aviation Administration. Meanwhile, the incident remains under investigation by the safety board, the FAA and American Airlines.

NTSB Identification: CHI08IA292
Scheduled 14 CFR Part 121: Air Carrier operation of American Airlines, Inc. (D.B.A. American Airlines)
Incident occurred Monday, September 22, 2008 in Chicago, IL
Aircraft: BOEING 757, registration: N197AN
Injuries: 192 Uninjured.
This is preliminary information, subject to change, and may contain errors. Any errors in this report will be corrected when the final report has been completed.
On September 22, 2008, at 1342 central daylight time, a Boeing 757-223, N197AN, operated by American Airlines as flight 268, diverted to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) due to electrical system anomalies. During the landing on runway 22R (7,500 feet by 150 feet), the airplane veered off the left side of the runway resulting in minor damage to the landing gear. There were no injuries to the 2 flight crew, 5 flight attendants, or 185 passengers. The domestic passenger flight was being operated under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 121. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and an instrument flight rules flight plan was filed. The flight originated from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), Seattle, Washington, at 0802 pacific daylight time, with an intended destination of the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York, New York.
While en route the flightcrew received an AIR/GRD SYS message, an illumination of the standby power bus OFF light, and several advisory and status messages on the engine indicating and crew alert system (EICAS). The flight crew then referenced the quick reference handbook (QRH) regarding the AIR/GND SYS message. The flight crew then followed the procedure referenced in the QRH for STANDBY BUS OFF by turning the standby power selector to the BAT position. The QRH procedure also referenced that, "The battery will provide bus power for approximately 30 minutes." The airplane systems stabilized with several items inoperative and the captain contacted maintenance technical support and subsequently elected to continue the flight on battery power. The flightcrew then reviewed the MAIN BATTERY CHARGER procedure referenced in the QRH.
Approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes later, while in cruise flight, the battery power was depleted at which time several cockpit electrical systems began to fail. The airplane was over western Michigan and the captain elected to turn around and divert to ORD. Also, the flight attendants discovered that public address (PA) and the cabin/cockpit interphone systems were inoperative. A flight attendant wrote a note and slipped it under the cockpit door to inform the flight crew of their communication problems. A short time later, the cabin crew was informed that they were diverting to ORD. One of the flight attendants then walked through the aisle informing the passengers of the unscheduled landing at Chicago.
