As Laura Mason and Wally Simpson illustrated, among the other people around me those years at Microsoft, Bill Gates was very effective at peeling back my cover identity.

JOURNAL ARCHIVE: 11/30/07 6:05 AM

I had an odd dream, last night I think, that I associate with that programmed roll the space shuttle stack makes just after lift off.

In the dream, though, I had jumped off a bridge and the water was a very long ways down. I was absolutely certain I would survive the fall though and I was thinking to myself that I needed to take a large gulp of air just before I hit the surface because I was going to go far below the surface. But I was also preparing myself to pull my legs up to my chest after I went under the surface so that I would not go as far below the surface than if my body remained in a shape similar to an arrow. There was also something about someone waterskiing nearby behind a jet ski. It seemed that water skiier said something to me but I don't know how that was possible because he was so far off.

Episode # 109

Eric: Dad. The mercenaries from Rogue River, they followed us back. Now we have a checkpoint at the Tacoma Bridge, and I think we can defend it. But there's this plan to destroy it, and cut off the town.

Johnston: Gray Anderson?

Eric: Yeah, he's up there right now wiring it.

Johnston: Where are Jimmy and Bill?

Eric: Out there helping Gray. Dad, I'm alone on this one.

Johnston: Get your brother and stop them.

Eric: Jake is with them too.

Johnston: Then you stop them. Whatever it takes, you stop them.

Eric: Dad I...

Johnston: Whatever it takes.

(Tacoma Bridge)

Hawkins: How's it coming?

Jimmy: Just a few wires left.

Hawkins: Hurry guys.

Gray: Alright everybody! Keep it moving! We gotta keep up the pace. We gotta keep moving. We see that flare, it's going to be too late.

Eric: Can I borrow your truck? Please!

Gray: We don't have much time folks.

Encyclopædia Britannica

Norman Rockwell

Norman Rockwell, (born February 3, 1894, New York City, New York, U.S.—died November 8, 1978, Stockbridge, Massachusetts), American illustrator best known for his covers for the journal The Saturday Evening Post.

Rockwell, a scholarship winner of the Art Students League, received his first freelance assignment from Condé Nast at age 17 and thereafter provided illustrations for various magazines. In 1916 he sold his first cover to The Saturday Evening Post, for which in the next 47 years he illustrated a total of 322 magazine covers. From 1926 to 1976 Rockwell also illustrated the official Boy Scout Calendar. During World War II, posters of his paintings portraying the “Four Freedoms” were reproduced and distributed by the Office of War Information.

Rockwell was a careful craftsman with an ability to represent detail realistically. The subjects of most of his illustrations are taken from everyday family and small-town life and are often treated with a touch of humour. Though loved by the public, Rockwell’s work was dismissed by most critics as lacking artistic merit and authentic social observation.

Heather: And for you. Before we head over to the church, I'd like to make a toast to the blushing bride, and the banker boy.

Emily: Banker man!

JOURNAL ARCHIVE: Posted by H.V.O.M at 8:59 PM Tuesday, December 06, 2011

A few days ago I was thinking again about that day Tracie moved out of that house I owned in Greer South Carolina. I was trying again to remember the precise year that happened. I remember clearly that day. That was Martin Luther King Day. She had movers come to transport her furniture to her parents house where they lived near Central South Carolina. That must have been 1993. January 18 1993, according to the calendar I just looked at. That must have been the day. My notes are never really clear about that. But I can't see how it could have been later that 1993. My artificial memory records how we first went out on December 7,th 1991. I have been thinking the date we got married at the justice of the peace in that county she lived in was July 2, 1992. I am fairly certain the month and day was July 2nd. I think I have written that more than once over the past five or six years.

In her kind way of speaking, she told me I should get some help. She said she would too. That was the last time we have ever spoke in person. January 18 1993. I can still visualize looking out the windows of the front door of that house on that day.

Emily: There's nothing risky about him.

Heather: Exactly. To Emily and Roger. May they live happily together in eternal blandness. Never questioning their life. Never looking too closely. Never wondering if they weren't meant for something else.

Now, just like the present age, our pontificate is weighed down by ever so many cares, anxieties, and troubles, by reason of very severe calamities that have taken place and by reason of the fact that many have strayed away from truth and virtue. Nevertheless, we are greatly consoled to see that, while the Catholic faith is being professed publicly and vigorously, piety toward the Virgin Mother of God is flourishing and daily growing more fervent, and that almost everywhere on earth it is showing indications of a better and holier life. Thus, while the Blessed Virgin is fulfilling in the most affectionate manner her maternal duties on behalf of those redeemed by the blood of Christ, the minds and the hearts of her children are being vigorously aroused to a more assiduous consideration of her prerogatives.

3. Actually God, who from all eternity regards Mary with a most favorable and unique affection, has "when the fullness of time came"(2) put the plan of his providence into effect in such a way that all the privileges and prerogatives he had granted to her in his sovereign generosity were to shine forth in her in a kind of perfect harmony. And, although the Church has always recognized this supreme generosity and the perfect harmony of graces and has daily studied them more and more throughout the course of the centuries, still it is in our own age that the privilege of the bodily Assumption into heaven of Mary, the Virgin Mother of God, has certainly shone forth more clearly.

4. That privilege has shone forth in new radiance since our predecessor of immortal memory, Pius IX, solemnly proclaimed the dogma of the loving Mother of God's Immaculate Conception. These two privileges are most closely bound to one another. Christ overcame sin and death by his own death, and one who through Baptism has been born again in a supernatural way has conquered sin and death through the same Christ. Yet, according to the general rule, God does not will to grant to the just the full effect of the victory over death until the end of time has come. And so it is that the bodies of even the just are corrupted after death, and only on the last day will they be joined, each to its own glorious soul.

Episode # 109

(Tacoma Bridge)

Jake messes with the wires as a Humvee pulls up.

Jimmy: What does he think he's doing?

Hawkins: He's making a stand.

Jake: The bridge is wired. You just parked over a couple of pounds of dynamite Turn your trucks around or I blow it.

Goetz: We're on government orders, to collect food and medicine, for a refugee camp near the Rogue River.

Jake: Same government that ordered you to kill all of those people in the hospital?

Goetz: It's been a crazy few weeks. A lot of confusion out there. Just step aside, we'll take what we need, and be on our way.

Jake has a red dot on him.

Jake: Go ahead, give the order. If I go, you go. Something funny?

Goetz: Yeah. This whole thing.

I wish I had written down these dreams shortly after I awoke. I don't remember as much detail now. But I think that illustrates how I am sensing the difference between these foreign or manipulated dreams and what would be normal dreams. I think the foreign dreams stay with me longer.

Star Wars - Episode I The Phantom Menace

Has anybody ever seen a Podrace?
They have Podracing on Malastare.
Very fast, very dangerous.
I'm the only human who can do it.
You must have Jedi reflexes if you race pods.
Don't do that again.
You're a Jedi knight, aren't you?
- What makes you think that? - I saw your laser sword .
Only Jedis carry that kind of weapon.
Perhaps I killed a Jedi and took it from him.
I don't think so.
No one can kill a Jedi.
I wish that were so.
I had a dream I was a Jedi.
I came back here and freed all the slaves.
- Have you come to free us? - No, I'm afraid not.
I think you have. Why else would you be here?
I can see there's no fooling you, Anakin.
