Now, furrow your brows and think about this for a moment, you little donkeys of mediocrity.

Look at how those mainstream media bastards are working overtime to create a record of the stuff I have been blogging about.

Look at how hard they are working to create a mainstream media record.

But they are saying nothing to me.

That is a hardcore permanent record being created there.

Jake: What the hell is this?

"Imagine"

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

The American Presidency Project

Jimmy Carter

XXXIX President of the United States: 1977 - 1981

Death of John Lennon Statement by the President.

December 9, 1980

John Lennon helped create the music and the mood of our time. His spirit, the spirit of the Beatles—brash and earnest, ironic and idealistic all at once—became the spirit of a whole generation.

In the 1960's, John Lennon and the Beatles captured the imagination of the world. Their greatest success came when they conquered America; and in recent years, it was in America that John Lennon chose to live, because he valued the atmosphere of freedom and ferment he found here. His work as an artist and musician was far from done, but in the songs he composed, both in partnership with Paul McCartney and in his own right, he leaves an extraordinary and permanent legacy.

I know that I speak for many millions of Americans when I say that I am saddened by his death, and distressed by the senseless manner of it. It is especially poignant that John Lennon has died by violence, though he had long campaigned for peace.

Beck: I don't know if you've heard yet but a new administrator arrived here last night. A contractor provided by Jennings & Rall. He'll be taking over most of my administrative duties. I just thought I'd give you the heads-up.

Jake: Why?

Goetz: Sheriff.

Beck: Jake.

Goetz: Thanks for coming by.

Jake: What the hell is this?

Goetz: I was afraid our little misunderstanding might come up.

Beck: Mr. Goetz has already informed me of your previous run-ins.

Jake: Yeah? Did he tell you about the massacre he and his men carried out in Rogue River? Did he give you a head count on how many he murdered in New Bern?

Beck: What I heard is that a sanctioned government contractor attempted to enter this town and you opened fire on him, killing one of his men.

Jake: Yeah, that's what he told you.

Goetz: Major, let me have a word with Jake.

Eric: I'll be right here.

Goetz: This is a brand-new building, and this is my new office. In that office is a desk. And on that desk is a folder, the Jennings & Rall corporate dossier for Jake Green. Let me try to put it in perspective for you, Jake. You had a very interesting period of employment with J&R. Especially Safa, Iraq. Remember Safa? You've heard stories about me. Think you know who I am. I wonder what the people of Safa must think about you.

I wasn't flying it very well though because it kept hitting the walls and doorway.

On this day 1980… John Lennon shot dead

8 December 2008

The world came to a stand still on 8 December 1980 as the newspapers reported that John Lennon had been shot to death outside his New York apartment.

The gunman later turned out to be Mark David Chapman, who shot Lennon in the back four times (the fifth shot missed) in the entrance hallway of the Dakota, in a sick twist, Lennon had kindly autographed a copy of Double Fantasy for Chapman earlier that same night.

Lennon was pronounced dead on arrival in the Emergency Room at the Roosevelt Hospital at 11:15 pm and on the following day, (9 December 1980), his wife, Yoko Ono, who had witnessed the horrific scene, issued a statement: "There is no funeral for John. John loved and prayed for the human race. Please pray the same for him. Love, Yoko and Sean."

On the night of his death, a crowd gathered outside the Dakota apartment building but Ono sent word that their singing kept her awake and asked that they re-convene in Central Park the following Sunday for ten minutes of silent prayer.

Intel Exec Stands By Testimony

November 11, 1998 By Andrew Zajac, Tribune Staff Writer.

WASHINGTON — Intel Corp. executive Steven McGeady, under cross-examination Tuesday in the Microsoft antitrust trial, acknowledged that Intel blundered when it developed multimedia technology for a soon-to-be-replaced version of Microsoft's Windows operating system. But he refused to yield on his contention that the technology was shelved because of Microsoft's threats.

A Microsoft lawyer spent the afternoon attacking McGeady as a poorly-informed malcontent in an attempt to undo his testimony that Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates threatened to withhold vital support for Intel microprocessors unless Intel ceased development of multimedia software known as native signal processing, or NSP.

The thrust of McGeady's testimony was that even Intel, which shares dominance of the personal computer world with Microsoft, was not immune from bullying when Microsoft perceived incursions on its turf--any software connected to Windows.

McGeady's testimony is considered especially significant because unlike other government witnesses to date, he represents not a competitor, but a Microsoft partner--and one of the high-tech world's most powerful forces. Intel microprocessors are the brains of more than 80 percent of the world's desktop computers, and like Microsoft, the company is being sued by federal regulators for abuse of its market power.

McGeady testified that consumers were hurt by Intel's decision to sideline NSP because it delayed the availability of software that improved the clarity of pictures and sound delivered over the Internet on Windows-based computers.

He also said Microsoft would have damaged the openness of the Internet by adding proprietary elements, called extensions, to the basic language of Web pages, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).

His notes of a November 1995 meeting quote a Microsoft official as saying the company planned to "kill HTML by extending it."

Hawkins: What did the prints turn up?

Beck: nothing. Came back classified. Top secret.

Hawkins: Mason or John Doe?

Beck: Both. I'm gonna call DHS, must be some sort of mistake.

(Hawkins stops him)

Hawkins: It is not a mistake.

Beck: Get your hand off the phone.

Hawkins: Okay. But you don't realize that you just stepped on a land mine?

Beck: What are you talking about?

Hawkins: Two subjects, both reclassified profiles. One killed the other, and it's a professional hit and she has avoided capture for months despite a full-scale manhunt. Come on, major. You're not hunting a terrorist. You're hunting a spook. You see those profiles? They would not be locked for any reason other than a former involvement with a covert agency.

Beck: There are plenty of valid reasons for a terrorist file to be sealed.

Hawkins: Yes, but your orders are to kill on sight, aren't they?

Beck: My orders are my orders.

Hawkins: Well, they want you to find her and kill her before you figure out what it is you're involved in. You call your bosses and you tell them that you are even onto a scent of it, and they will remove you from the situation. Or worse.

Beck: Get me Valente on the conference now.

Hawkins: Ask him if Sarah Mason ever worked for the government.

Beck: Step out.

Hawkins: You just ask him. Because he will either say yes and explain her involvement in your investigation, or he will say no. If he says no, then understand, you have just stumbled into a government conspiracy that will stop at nothing to protect itself.

(Police Department)

Jimmy: About three months ago, we found this John Doe. Broken neck, buried out in the woods near Tookany Creek.

Hawkins: Wasn't hard to figure out that Sarah Mason was probably the perp.

Beck: What makes you think that?

Hawkins: Well, look at his neck. It's snapped clean. Whoever did that knew what they were doing.

(Mayor's office)

Eric: I've been pushing all morning with the Army. No one can do anything about Goetz. It's like he's completely above the law.

Jake: Goetz isn't. Ravenwood is. Listen to me. Things might get ugly around here quick so there's something you should know. Ravenwood is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jennings & Rall. It's their own private army. And anything, anything that Jennings & Rall does is judged by a different set of rules.

Eric: Well, I'm afraid to ask, but how do you know this?

Jake: I told you I'd done some work overseas hauling supplies while I was gone?

Eric: Yeah, you mentioned it.

Jake: I was working for Jennings & Rall. Hold on. Hold on. listen. One day in Iraq, our convoy was ambushed. A couple of our guys were killed. We had no rules of engagement and we had seen the village they fell back to, so we just... We just went in and we started shooting. After it was done, there were six gunmen dead along with four bystanders. One of them was a 12-year-old girl. The only reason I tell you this, is because there were no repercussions, none. The army had no authority over us, the police didn't. Most of the guys, they just went back to their jobs. The company? The company wanted it quiet, so it was. Do you understand? Do you understand who we're dealing with? These guys, they don't answer to anybody.

Eric: Jake, this isn't Iraq.

Trish: Mr. Green--

Eric: But Goetz, Goetz murdered dozens of innocent people in Rogue River, and then in New Bern. And if we hadn't fought him off here, he would've done the same to us.

Trish: Mr. Green, look. Officially-- Officially, my answer is that Ravenwood personnel can only do their jobs if they're insulated from these kinds of complaints. But unofficially, my answer is that the J&R policy that protects Ravenwood is inexcusable. It's one thing about this company that I don't understand and I wish I could change, but I can't. Jake: They're gonna say that they got no idea who I am.

Darcy: And how long till he comes to get you? Until he realizes Sarah's dead and you've got the bomb? And his reputation is riding on this mission. He'll never stop Rob. We gotta get the kids. Baby, we gotta go, now.

Hawkins: I've been undercover on this case for months... but now you've been plastering Sarah Mason's picture all over town... I mean, it's not like it's a lost cat we're looking for here, major.

Beck: I ran your name through the FBI database. There's no record of an Agent Robert Hawkins.

Hawkins: No, there wouldn't be. Well, not in Cheyenne's FBI database.

Beck: Why not?

Hawkins: I haven't registered with Cheyenne. And I don't think that I will. You see, my bosses still work in Columbus. They're the ones who sent me to find Sarah Mason. And when I do find her, they're the ones I'm handing her over to.

Beck: The Cheyenne government isn't a state of mind, Mr. Hawkins. On this side of the river, it is the law. You obstruct it for the benefit of another nation, we call that treason.

Hawkins: Right now, I am much more interested in catching a terrorist than I am in playing politics. And I think you are too, right? And if your current methods are any kind of indication, you can use my help.
