http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paternity_fraud
Paternity fraud
Paternity fraud is the term introduced by fathers' and men's rights activists for paternal discrepancy or a non-paternity event, in which a mother names a man to be the biological father of a child, particularly for the purpose of collecting child support (also referred to as child maintenance), when she knows or suspects that he is not the biological father.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_testing
Parental testing
Parental testing is the use of genetic fingerprinting to determine whether two individuals have a biological parent-child relationship. A paternity test establishes genetic proof whether a man is the biological father of an individual, and a maternity test establishes whether a woman is the biological mother of an individual. Though genetic testing is the most reliable standard, older methods also exist including ABO blood group typing, analysis of various other proteins and enzymes, or using human leukocyte antigen antigens. The current techniques for paternal testing are using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and restriction fragment length polymorphism.
DNA testing is currently the most advanced and accurate technology to determine parentage. In a DNA parentage test, the probability of parentage is 0% when the alleged parent is not biologically related to the child and the probability of paternity typically greater than 99.9% when the alleged parent is biologically related to the child.
The U.S. Department of State and USCIS provide information concerning the DNA parentage test request for immigration purposes.

That right, Mr. Cole?
That's about the size of it.
We did it ourselves.

Flight Of The Intruder (1991)
You took an oath, Mr. Cole.
You, too, Mr. Grafton.
You took an oath
to defend the constitution
and obey the orders of
the officers appointed over you.
It's the same oath that every
officer in the navy has taken
for damn near 200 years.
And during all that time,
the military has
obeyed the civilians
over the elected government.
Now, they might not
have always been right
or wise or even smart,
but they were elected.
Any other way, and the United
States would be nothing more
than another two-bit
military dictatorship.
Why did you do this, Cole?
An officer
with your fine record?
Did you think you were going
to win the war?
Frankly, sir, I think
we're going to lose this one.
But I do love the work.
Mr. Cole, you may find
that amusing, but we don't.
Gentlemen, this is our country
you're messing with.

Sad News: IEET Affiliate Len Sassaman Has Died
Posted: Jul 5, 2011
Thirty-one years old, Len was an Affiliate Scholar of the IEET since 2010. He was an internationally acclaimed cypherpunk and privacy advocate, a PhD candidate at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium, and a researcher with the COSIC research group. Suffering from depression, Len ended his own life on July 3, 2011.
Len SassamanLen worked on privacy enhancing technologies and anonymous communication systems such as the open source Mixmaster remailer software. He worked for Network Associates on the PGP encryption software, was a member of the Shmoo Group, a contributor to the OpenPGP IETF working group, the GNU Privacy Guard project, and often appeared at technology conferences like DEF CON. He was the cofounder of CodeCon along with Bram Cohen, coauthor of the Zimmermann-Sassaman key-signing protocol, and was an organizer of the protests following the arrest of Dmitry Sklyarov.
Recounting their early work together on crypto-systems, Len’s friend Pablos Holman said that they were “reimagining our world, riddled with cryptosystems that would mathematically enforce the freedoms that we treasured. Anonymous remailers to preserve speech without fear of retribution; onion routers to ensure nobody could censor the internet; digital cash to enable a radically free economy.”

THE REGISTER
Cryptographer Len Sassaman, RIP
CodeCon founder remembered
6 Jul 2011 at 10:48, Andrew Orlowski
Obituary Len Sassaman, a cryptographer and security researcher of high repute, has died aged 31. Sassaman maintained the Mixmaster remailer and he contributed to various other privacy projects, including OpenPGP. He also co-founded the annual CodeCon conference with Bram Cohen. He was security researcher and doctoral student at the Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven.
Len was a friend and roommate in San Francisco, in the year following the dot.com crash. The Register's West Coast Bureau at the time was wherever I happened to be – Len provided a mascot.
It was a dire time for bright programmers. It got even worse after 9/11. Bram had been turned down for a job at Google because he didn't have a degree. Neither did Len. The pair persuaded Jamie Zawinski to open his DNA Lounge club during the day over one weekend, and invited practical demonstrations of working code from interesting people.
"Conferences cost a ridiculous amount of money, and hackers are treated like dirt," said Bram. That was the first CodeCon, and it was Len's energy and enthusiasm that pulled it together.
He'd already helped organise the campaign to free Dmitry Skylarov, a Russian cryptography student jailed at the request of Adobe after a demonstration of eBook security.
I had assumed Len was in his late twenties or early thirties; he was so widely read, and psychologically astute. I was shocked to learn he'd just turned 21.
He introduced me to the cypherpunks at one of their regular meetups at Stanford. I introduced him to Robert Anton Wilson, the author of the Illuminatus trilogy, and his favourite author.
One beautiful autumn afternoon, we drove in Len's sports car at breakneck speed down from Golden Gate Park to Aptos, where Wilson lived. The car's already overturned once, he said, but don't worry about speeding tickets. He showed me a Get Out of Jail Free card, which he assured me would work magic.
Some brilliant people are irritated by dumb questions. I learned a lot from Len, who was always a patient explainer. We were last in touch a year ago, when he was enraged at the entrapment of Bradley Manning. Len realised I hadn't met his wife Meredith, and renewed an invitation to Leuven.
They say when you turn 30, you realise how trivial conversations have been. And when you turn 40, you stop giving a flying fuck about how you should appear. Len's best years were ahead of him, and his departure is a terrible loss.
Leonard Harris Sassaman will be laid to rest on Saturday, 9 July, at noon at the De Jacht cemetery in Heverlee, Belgium. There will be a graveside ceremony and the public is invited

A history of people misidentifying Satoshi Nakamoto
By Kevin Collier Mar 7, 2014, 7:40am CT Last updated Mar 7, 2014, 7:45am CT
Bitcoin enthusiasts and gawkers alike reeled from Newsweek's report that founder Satoshi Nakamoto, widely believed to be a pseudonym for one or multiple programmers, was actually, really, just a guy, actually named Satoshi Nakamoto: a 64-year-old family man living outside of Los Angeles, as math-savvy as Bitcoin's creator would have to be, who shyly avoided the limelight once it became clear he'd created a monster.
But hold up. In no uncertain terms, that man told the Associated Press later that evening that no, he was not the man everyone's looking for, and he first heard about the digital currency when Newsweek came knocking. (To be fair, the real Satoshi, who clearly wants his privacy, would maybe say something like that.)
Either way, this just means mainstream press is just the latest to engage in Bitcoin's oldest, most maddening endeavor: speculating and refuting possible Satoshis. Speculation has ranged so widely that I'm not even going to pretend this is comprehensive history, or that the cited sources are the first time they appeared anywhere on the Internet. Instead, it's a loose one, a mere cornucopia of fake Satoshis that people believed in at one point or another.
Nov. 1, 2008
Bitcoin and Satoshi came on the scene together when a paper called Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System appeared on a cryptography listserv, signed with his name. "None of the list’s veterans had heard of him," Wired wrote three years later. "Google searches for his name turned up no relevant information; it was clearly a pseudonym."
March 15, 2013
A commenter on bitcointalk.org named rpietila produced either the saddest or creepiest theory: that Satoshi was Len Sassaman, a Belgian systems engineer who committed suicide July 3, 2011, about six months after the last known communication from Satoshi. Maybe the CIA was involved, rpietila suggested.

Roy Lee Johnson, 93, a retired admiral who commanded the U.S. Pacific Fleet during a critical period of U.S. military escalation in Vietnam, died March 20 in Virginia Beach, Va. On Aug. 4, 1964, he gave orders to two U.S. destroyers to return fire on North Vietnamese torpedo boats in the Gulf of Tonkin. Three days later, Congress passed the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, giving President Johnson authority to escalate U.S. involvement in Vietnam.

Event Horizon (1997)
I purchased a while back a copy of the DVD of this 1997 film but I am just now this morning watching it. I think again about how I have tried again to remember specifically when I saw it when it premiered in the theatre in 1997. I can only now recall that I used to think I could remember when I saw it in the theatre. Now all I have is the knowledge that I feel certain I saw it when it premiered in the theatre. I guess that not being able to recall specific details associated with seeing it in the theatre is not really that hard to understand. But I just feel that I should remember something about going to see it in the theatre.
That production represents the Hell that waits for anyone that does not accept salvation. My brother Tom fought in 1976 the battle that would create the capability for anyone to even be given the chance for salvation for the evil that has visited this planet Earth and that has been here even before humans had developed as a life form on this planet. I fight the second battle. A delaying action. I wrote this paragraph almost an hour before I made my observations, as detailed here, about 9 May 2003. I just assumed there would be an association with 9 May 2003 but I had no kind of assumption about what it would associate with. The only new association I had reviewed before writing any of this was 3 March 2003. I've got it paused now about the 01:01:00 point and I am not certain but I do not think the film ever establishes why the "gateway" opened for "Justin." Maybe it does explain that, but I have been thinking since then the he has the power to cause it to open, and if that is true, I don't think the film does confirm that notion, other than something that could have happened to any of them. I sat here and watched it and I thought to myself that it only opened because he was standing there in front of it.

XLII President of the United States: 1993 - 2001
Statement on Signing the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994
October 13, 1994
I am pleased to sign into law H.R. 995, the "Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994."
Today there are members of the National Guard and Reserve, including Coast Guard Reservists, on active duty supporting operational missions. As their Commander in Chief, it is timely for me to sign a bill that will clarify and strengthen their right to return to the civilian positions they held before going on active duty without any loss of seniority, status, or pay.
The "Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994" revises, improves, and clarifies the existing veterans reemployment rights statute, which was first enacted in 1940. Since that time, a confusing and cumbersome patchwork of statutory amendments and judicial constructions have made the law difficult for employers to understand.
Among other changes, H.R. 995 extends coverage for the first time to the Coast Guard and Public Health Service Reserve components.
It also entitles service members to continued health insurance coverage under their employer's plan for up to 18 months of military leave and makes explicit the rights of reemployed service members under their pension plans.
My Administration is committed to enforcing the reemployment rights of service members. This Act is key to the achievement of that goal.
WILLIAM J. CLINTON
The White House, October 13, 1994.
NOTE: H.R. 995, approved October 13, was assigned Public Law No. 103-353.
