Episode Summary
The discovery of an outpost, left behind by the Ancients in the most unlikely of places, leads a new Stargate team to the distant Pegasus galaxy. Once there, they discover a planet of humans being decimated by a terrible alien race know as the Wraith.

United States Air Force major SHEPPARD: So some people have the same genes as these Ancients. (He walks around the Chair.)
BECKETT: The specific gene is very rare, but on the whole they look very much like we do. In fact they were first. We're the second evolution of this form, the Ancients having explored this galaxy for millions of years before ... Major, please don't.
(Sheppard has started to sit down in the Chair.)
SHEPPARD: Come on -- what are the odds of me having the same genes as these guys?
(As he sits down, the Chair immediately lights up and reclines. Both he and Beckett stare in amazement.)

Vladimir Mikhaylovich Komarov (16 March 1927 – 24 April 1967) was a Soviet test pilot, aerospace engineer and cosmonaut. In October 1964, he commanded Voskhod 1, the first spaceflight to carry more than one crew member. He became the first cosmonaut to fly in space twice when he was selected as the solo pilot of Soyuz 1, the first manned test flight of a new spacecraft. A parachute failure caused his Soyuz capsule to crash into the ground after re-entry on 24 April 1967, making him the first human to die in a space flight.

This gets even more ridiculous to me with each and every passing day.
The only reason - THE ONLY REASON! - I still make these references is because that supposed "fact" came to my mind out of the blue when I was still being treated with drugs by the United States Veteran's Affairs hospital in Seattle.
For many years after that point I was almost convinced I was actually NOT Kerry Burgess and that I was instead some person named Thomas Ray. A few months later I began thinking that the world-famous actress Phoebe Cates was my wife, the wife of me, and I was someone named Thomas Reagan.
I can pinpoint in my notes the precise instant all this stuff started. Before that, nothing. Nothing about all this stuff. ANYWHERE! This stuff was NOWHERE in my life before that day in May 2006 when I was still being treated by the VA hospital.
Only because of those thoughts that seemed to suddenly and inexplicably appear in my mind did I start to document this compelling pattern.
I have NO IDEA where I learned any of these details. As I have written, I started to imagine some sort of divergence point in the month of July in 1989. After that I seemed to live two lives.
Nowadays I would gladly just dump all this stuff from my mind but I just can't let it go.

ASHDOWN, ARK. ASHDOWN, Ark. (AP) _ A 21-year-old man who was absent without leave from the Marine Corps has been charged with capital murder in the shooting deaths of his parents and younger brother, whose bodies were found in their fire-gutted home, authorities say.
Marine Cpl. Thomas Dewayne Dinger was arrested about 1:20 a.m. today when he showed up at the house on foot, wearing a backpack and carrying a fishing rod, said Prosecutor Jim Bob Steel.
State police and Little River County deputies were at the house three miles south of Ashdown because members of the Ashdown Volunteer Fire Department had discovered three bodies when they responded to a fire call late Tuesday, Sheriff Dallas Keller said.
The sheriff identified those killed as James Thomas Dinger, 41; his wife, Shirley Dinger, about 40; and their 14-year-old son, Brian Dinger.
According to Keller, Dinger told police his younger brother was shot first, in a bedroom, with a .22-caliber pistol, and then Mrs. Dinger was shot with the pistol. Their bodies were found inside the house.
The sheriff said the senior Dinger was wounded with a shotgun outside the house as he arrived home from work for a painting contractor, and then was shot several times with the pistol.
An empty gasoline can was found atop the 14-year-old's body in the bedroom, the sheriff said, adding the house had apparently been set afire shortly after the elder Dinger was shot.
Steel said Dinger was being held in the county jail at Ashdown, and an arraignment was scheduled today.
Neither Steel nor Keller knew where Dinger had been stationed with the Marine Corps. Officials said he had been AWOL for about 10 days.
Steel said Dinger told authorities he had been planning to leave home yesterday and turn himself in to Marine officials.
''We figure the argument was over him leaving,'' Keller said. ''His daddy said he was going back.''

Those-those forensic experts and-and their equipment, they were looking for a traditional lead slug.
That's why they never found the bullet.
Because it wasn't made of metal.
(chuckles softly) Glass bullets.
Say again? I was shot at with a glass bullet.
Similar idea to what sky marshals use on airplanes so that they don't pierce the fuselage.
Wouldn't that still leave gunshot residue on Dawson's body? Well, not if he shot at me with an air-powered gun.
See, these bullets, they're designed to shatter on impact, but they can be lethal in the hands of the right shooter.
