I have this distinct memory, an artificial memory or a converted memory, of two people, husband and wife, who lived just north of Clemson South Carolina, who were wanting me to invest with them in the purchase of a local company that produced and sold bags of ice to grocery stores and convenience stores in the region there in the western side of upstate South Carolina. For a while, I have been thinking that one guy had become known to United States federal authorities as a communist sympathizer.
When was that time I was over at their house and they were making that pitch to me? In the context of my artificial memory, that would have been 1992.
I didn't make any kind of investment with them and they eventually stopped talking to me about it.
