The Cage

JOURNAL ARCHIVE: 9/1/2006 12:44 PM
I have been thinking that I was on the ground after the Osirak strike and one of the F-15s landed to pick me up. I’ve been thinking too that I had to use crutches all the time because of the injuries from STS-1 a few weeks earlier. The F-15 pilot was going to put me in the backseat with the crewperson, but I couldn’t sit there due to my injuries so as a result, I took the pilot’s seat and flew the aircraft.

I was once temporarily paralyzed from the waist down after a hard landing, aggravating the injury from a few weeks earlier from another hard landing in a parachute, from the F-16 Falcon fighter jet I had to eject from. My captors thought I was permanently paralyzed so they did not have any security watching me. After about a day or two, what turned out to be a pinched nerve in my back subsided and I slipped away and floated down a river until the rescue team found me, which was possible because my captors had left all my pilot survival gear on a chair on the other side of the hospital room I was in.

Look up, I look up at night

It is my theory, which I believe is reasonable, that I own the “Star Trek” franchise and that I have owned it since its creation, along with the “Battlestar Galactica“ franchise. I might be the owner of ABC’s “Lost” television series as well, among my other holdings.

I was watching this episode of “Star Trek” this morning and I noticed that woman had a noticeable hump on her back when they revealed her true form. That might be why Microsoft-Corbis put that woman with the name similar to Kosovo near me at Microsoft. I remember that my manager was trying to talk me into going out with her. That woman at Microsoft with the hump on her back wasn’t blonde but she might have been the closest match Microsoft-Corbis could find. Precisely why they were doing that, I do not know.

SPOCK: There is no survivors' encampment, Number One. This is all some sort of trap. We've lost the Captain. Do you read?

(Pike wakes to find himself in a cell with a transparent wall blocking his escape. He tests it's strength, and notices other similar occupied cells. There's a fanged ape, a giant bird and other scary shadows. The three aliens arrive)

PIKE: Can you hear me? My name is Christopher Pike, commander of the space vehicle Enterprise from a stellar group at the other end of this galaxy. Our intentions are peaceful. Can you understand me?

(the aliens communicate with their minds, not voices)

TALOSIAN: It appears, Magistrate, that the intelligence of the specimen is shockingly limited.

MAGISTRATE: This is no surprise since his vessel was baited here so easily with a simulated message. As you can read in its thoughts, it is only now beginning to suspect that the survivors and encampment were a simple illusion we placed in their minds.

PIKE: You're not speaking, yet I can hear you.

MAGISTRATE: You will note the confusion as it reads our thought transmissions.

BOYCE [OC}: Boyce here.

PIKE: Drop by my cabin, Doctor. (Boyce enters with bag) What's that? I didn't say there's anything wrong with me.

BOYCE: I understand we picked up a distress signal.

PIKE: That's right. Unless we get anything more positive on it, it seems to me the condition of our own crew takes precedent. I'd like to log the ship's doctor's opinion, too.

BOYCE: Oh, I concur with yours, definitely.

PIKE: Good. I'm glad you do, because we're going to stop first at the Vega Colony and replace anybody who needs hospitalisation and also. What the devil are you putting in there, ice?

BOYCE: Who wants a warm martini?

PIKE: What makes you think I need one?

BOYCE: Sometimes a man'll tell his bartender things he'll never tell his doctor. What's been on your mind, Chris, the fight on Rigel Seven?

PIKE: Shouldn't it be? My only yeoman and two others dead, seven injured.

BOYCE: Was there anything you personally could have done to prevent it?

PIKE: Oh, I should have smelled trouble when I saw the swords and the armour. Instead of that, I let myself get trapped in that deserted fortress and attacked by one of their warriors.

BOYCE: Chris, you set standards for yourself no one could meet. You treat everyone on board like a human being except yourself, and now you're tired and you

PIKE: You bet I'm tired. You bet.
