[first lines]

Spencer Olham: There wasn't always a war with the Centauri, but in my lifetime it's all I've ever known. By the year 2050, six years after the first attack, we'd lost so many things. We'd lost the sky to electromagnetic domes, to shield the Earth from frequent air raids increasing in intensity. We'd lost the uncovered cities that the government forgot. We'd lost democracy to global leadership. We didn't expect peace anymore with the Centauri, because we came to see that peace wasn't their goal. Their goal was Earth. The ultimate land war, with no boundaries.

Subject: Career Opportunities with the CIA

Yahoo! HotJobs Featured Employer: Central Intelligence Agency

The Truth About CIA Opportunities

Some people believe that choosing a career with the CIA means they'll never see their friends and family again. Or, that they'll never make it through our stringent security clearance process unless their background is stellar. Though some of our roles do require a great deal of tact and confidentiality, these myths do not reflect what life is truly like at the CIA. The fact is, we offer a wide range of opportunities that make an important contribution to the security of our nation - from Administrative roles, to Science and Technology, to information Analysis, to Languages, to Clandestine. So, you can participate in any number of professional areas and know that you're making a difference for America.

Diversity at the CIA

On the international stage, the CIA is the eyes and ears of America and, at times, its hidden hand. Collecting intelligence that matters. Providing relevant, timely and objective analysis. Preempting threats or achieving United States policy objectives at the direction of the President through covert means. All of these activities require a workforce that reflects the talent, values and demographics of our nation - the most diverse nation on the planet. It is through the contributions of the individual expertise, dedication, perspectives and cultures of all of our professionals that we are empowered to achieve our mission objectives. Your unique qualities can become one of our most valuable assets to ensure the national security of the United States and protect our American life and ideals.

The Agency's inclusive environment challenges every member of our work force to possess and maintain the highest level of personal and professional integrity; to work effectively with others as part of a team; to be innovative and take calculated risks; to adapt to an ever-changing environment; to take responsibility and be personally accountable for all that they do; and to continuously seek to improve themselves. So, while you're working with smart, focused people from all types of backgrounds, you are expected to expand your mind. Look deeper. Understand more. And realize your unlimited potential.

You can make your individuality work for you by joining the Central Intelligence Agency, in an environment that enables you to perform your best work on a united team committed to meeting today's and tomorrow's Intelligence challenges.

Tomorrowland (2015)

It's a jet pack. Obviously.

You made this yourself?

Athena, what are you doing here?

Did you or didn't you?

- What?

- Did you make this yourself?

Yeah.

Why?

I guess I got tired of waiting around for someone else to do it for me.

Does it work?

Sure. Yeah. Mostly. Just doesn't really, you know, technically... fly.

But if it did, "You know,"technically fly," what would its purpose be? How would your jet pack make the world a better place?

Can't it just be fun?

Tomorrowland (2015)

Mr. Walker, please tell me you can do better than "fun."

Anything's possible.

I don't know what that means.

If I was walking down the street, and I saw some kid with a jet pack fly over me, I'd believe anything's possible. I'd be inspired. Doesn't that make the world a better place?

Well, I suppose it would. If it worked. Unfortunately, it does not. And if it doesn't work, it has no purpose at all. Thank you for your time, Mr. Walker.

- But I can make it work!

That's the spirit. Until then, young man, have fun.

She Couldn't Say No (1954)

Plot Summary

As usual with most of the RKO films from this era "presented" by RKO-owner Howard Hughes, the PCA number is usually 500-1000 digits lower than the one from other studios being released at the time, indicating it was released a year or more after it was completed. This one finds heiress Corby Lane (Jean Simmons) coming to a small Arkansas town to play Santa Claus because, when she was a small child traveling with her impoverished father, the townspeople saved her life by donating money needed for medical treatment. She meets and falls in love with "Doc" Sellers (Robert Mitchum), an easy-going doctor who enjoys fishing and the unhurried pace of the town. Corby's gesture of handing out money and lavish gifts to the citizens backfires when, after it has been publicized, the town becomes the destination of every wayward traveler and fortune seeker.

Before I awoke just now, I dreamed that I was inside a house that must belong to me and that I have not been to in a long time and that seems to have been vacant all this time. I do not remember any specific details about the house I was in but a central element of the dream was that I was sitting inside a large walk-in safe and I do know from the dream that the safe belonged to me. I cannot remember all the details surrounding my presence in that safe but I do remember thinking something about how I must have transfered all the contents of that safe to some other location. The reasons for transfering the contents of the safe to another location seemed obvious to me in the dream and seemed to be associated with my current state of mind, in that I was protecting information that is important to me. But then the thought occurred to me, perhaps by that mysterious and unseen narrator I used to puzzle over before I understood I have amnesia, that I should look closer at the filing cabinets there inside the safe. So I did look closer and while I cannot visualize any details of those filing cabinets, I do remember that I pulled a file folder from one of the shelf and began to study it. At the very instant I began to study it, I noted it had a photo on the cover that was of my wife Phoebe and me. While I can still visualize the two of us in that photo, I have no recollection of the two of us together as we were in that photo. We seemed to be outside somewhere and I guess at a lake or a beach because we seemed to have on swimming attire. I was extremely excited to see the two of us together in that photo and I started running around inside the house to show it to people that were in there. I do not remember who all were those people but there were several and they all seemed to be scattered around the house and they were taking naps. There were two people in particular I wanted to see that photo and I cannot remember those two people but they seemed to be long-time friends of mine and I remember something vaguely about a friend from the 2nd grade although I don't understand that because I never actually went to the second grade or to any level of elementary school or grade school or high school and instead the cover story was that I was in a private school which was true in a sense because I was attending Princeton University and University of Oxford. So anyway, I was very excited about the photo of Phoebe and me together and I showed it to those two people and they both agreed that the photo was of my wife Phoebe and me together and I guess the photo was from the mid-1980's to early 1990's.

Hey, Spence, who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you?
You know who this is?
You know who this is?
Who are you?
Good. You've come around.
I've been waiting on you.
You'll be thankful
for those drugs.
Spencer Olham was a genius.
At 15 he'd mastered differential and integral calculus.
Harvard, M.I.T.
Ph. D. in biochemical
engineering
Cavendish Laboratory,
top subatomic physicist
and all by the age of 23.
Outstanding.
No military record.
Father, John Olham, fighter
pilot, distinguished service.
Ship went down
in historic Z-12 dogfight.
MIA case
until they found his body
at a Centauri P.O.W. camp.
He'd been flayed alive.
Young Spencer was
eight years old.
Spencer Olham was a driven man.
I'm not happy about losing him.
And when I'm not happy,
nobody's happy.

You got piss-drunk.

Well, she told me, Nelson.
I never brought it up;
I forgave you.

Memories...
senses, knowledge-
you pilfered them all.
But there was one thing you couldn't take
from Spencer Olham.
Do you know what that is?
"When the solution is simple
God is answering," I quote...
Einstein.
I know who said it.
I want the answer.
Can God give you the answer?
What was it you couldn't take
from Spencer's dead body? Hmm?
His soul.
I forgave you,
you son of a bitch.
Gentlemen, let's get started.
That's right, let's get started.

Hathaway's a bit on the slow side, isn't he?
Oh, too bad, he's a little dim!
Hey, I got a joke for you.
Here's my joke for the day:
Knock, knock.
Who's there?
Hathaway.
Hathaway, who?
Hathaway
the real target.
You thought it was
the Chancellor.
Fatal error.
Trigger phase activated.
Countdown, 30 seconds:
Tick, tock.
Tick, tock.
Tick, tock.
Tick, tock...
"When the solution is simple
God is answering!"
Strap him in the Vivisec.
Tick, tock.
Tick, tock.
Tick, tock. Tick, tock.
