One of the Killian memos is an official order to George W. Bush to report for a physical. The president never carried out the order.
On Aug. 1, 1972, Lt. Bush was suspended from flying status, due to failure to accomplish his annual medical examination. That document was released years ago. But another document has not been seen until now. It's a memo that Col. Jerry Killian put in his own file that same day. It says "on this date, I ordered that 1st Lt. Bush be suspended not just for failing to take a physical….but for failing to perform to U.S. Air Force/Texas Air National Guard standards."
He goes on: "The officer [then-Lt. Bush] has made no attempt to meet his training certification or flight physical."

Travel information has grown explosively on the Internet in recent months, making it easy to roam for days through this computerized world.
The World Wide Web, the user-friendly portion of the Internet that's loaded with photos and graphics, is the place to go. There are thousands of Web sites on travel, with more being added daily, ranging from those created by major corporations to quirky travel diaries by individuals.
Some of the Web sites are little more than ads
Adventures with Microsoft - Adventure-travel pioneer Richard Bangs is taking a group of intrepid rafters on an exploration of the remote Tekeze River in Ethiopia and will file reports to Microsoft's new on-line travel magazine "Mungo Park" (named after an 18th-century Scottish explorer of Africa). It's to begin on Sept. 3.

Mari Sandoz, in full Mari Susette Sandoz (born May 11, 1896, Sandoz post office, Sheridan county, Nebraska, U.S.—died March 10, 1966, New York, New York) American biographer and novelist known for her scrupulously researched books portraying the early American West.
Sandoz’s life as a student and teacher in rural Nebraska—a rigorous life that left her blind in one eye from a blizzard at age 13—prepared her to depict realistically pioneer and Indian life. She wrote almost 80 stories while in college, but her first success came when she was in her late 30s, with Old Jules (1935), a story of her father’s hard farm life.
Sandoz’s books include Crazy Horse (1942), a biography of the Sioux Indian chief; Cheyenne Autumn (1953), which concerns Indians leaving a reservation, to which they had been sent by the U.S. Army, in order to return home; The Buffalo Hunters (1954), which tells of the white settlers’ slaughter of bison and its social impact on the West; and The Battle of the Little Bighorn (1966). These works are praised for their accurate re-creation of character and historical events.
