So, I've have established clearly that my official United States Navy documents as Kerry Burgess indicate I began on 03/24/1990 separation leave from active duty United States Navy.
I have described the memories I still have in my conscious mind of visualizations of that final day.
My enlistment did not end officially until 05/14/1990 but I had almost 2 years vacation time saved up and I used it all at the end of my enlistment. Since I would not be returning to a US Navy base, I was separated and on leave beginning 03/24/1990. I still had an official United States Navy identification card but I was ordered to return it by postal mail after 05/14/1990.
The point here is to describe my theory that the day I can visualize leaving the now-defunct Charleston Naval Station, South Carolina, flinging my uniform hat from the overpass after I drove through the main security checkpoint of the base, was the day Friday 03/23/1990.

I have documented often that the calendar date 3/24/1990 is listed in my official United States Navy documents as the day I began Separation Leave for my US Navy enlistment and subsequent Honorable Discharge.
I documented that the calendar date 3/26/1990 must have been the first day of my civilian employment with Ketterman's in Greenville South Carolina.
That was the job where I worked as a computer technician.
I had a sleeping dream with the past day or couple days associated with my activities in that employment.
That job was a computer maintenance contract for First Federal Savings and Loan based in Greenville.
The most challenging work was keeping the bank's automatic teller machines operating.

Birth Name Audie Leon Murphy
Audie Murphy became a national hero during World War II as the most decorated combat soldier of the war. Among his 33 awards was the Medal of Honor, the highest award for bravery that a soldier can receive. In addition, he was also decorated for bravery by the governments of France and Belgium, and was credited with killing over 240 German soldiers and wounding and capturing many more.
Cagney Productions paid for acting and dancing lessons but was reluctantly forced to admit that Murphy--at least at that point in his career--didn't have what it took to become a movie star.

His postwar life wasn't all roses, however. He suffered from what is now called Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) but was then called "combat fatigue", and was known to have a hair-trigger temper. He woke up screaming at night and slept with a loaded M1911 .45 semi-automatic pistol nearby. He was acquitted of attempted murder charges brought about by injuries he inflicted on a man in a bar fight. Director Don Siegel said in an interview that Murphy often carried a pistol on the set of The Gun Runners (1958) and many of the cast and crew were afraid of him.
