Wainwright

Here's the weirdest thing.

I finally decided to note it, non-contiguously, here in my journal for only one reason.

The reason is because I feel there will be - - - - something.

My theory is that the divergence point is some time after 19 July 1989.

I have memories of those days after that point but - - - of precisely how many days?

Between the days of 19 July 1989 and 01 January 1990, I am wondering now, I might have only 10 memories in my mind. My brain might be locking out all the others.

David Lightman: Joshua called me.

McKittrick: [incredulous] David, computers don't call people!

David Lightman: [shrugs] Yours did.

But then here's Jim Shea. I know for certain Jim was not on the ship in late 1989.

Right, Right. Those include 1988. Jim was still there in 1988. He and I still rented that apartment in Charleston off-base up to after Hurricane Hugo. They let us out of our lease after the hurricane, Jim told me. I can still visualize myself driving around in Columbia after we returned to port. I don't think Shea was still in the USN at that point. That point was about 2 months after 19 July 1989 and that point was about 6 months before I returned to the United States from overseas and was waiting discharge from the US Navy. I still remember going to that bar where Jim Shea worked when I returned to the States. Sometime then or soon after is when he told me about the job at First Federal.

So, you see, that tells you something.

That tells you something, GOTCHAS!

The thing is I can never recall wearing a shirt with that kind of lettering on it. I don't know what that lettering say but I recall never wearing anything like that. And I have been thinking to myself about how I would likely remember such a detail because life aboard ship was annoying to me. There wasn't enough room for my personal space, I remember feeling annoyed.

So I looked closely at that photo and I think, yeah, maybe that is me. There is something about the hand that seems familiar.

That's Mogge for certain. If that's me then I'm not so sure.

I just can't get past the shirt.

AND SO ANYWAY I noted earlier the divergence point in 1989. Is that one of those details that will rise up sometimes and strike at me?
