"of a terrible year"

Fighting with my so-called Smart TV and it's finicky internet connection, or maybe Amazon is just really crappy today, working on a blog note, I was reminded of this group.

I can't tell you how often I listened to this CD in the early 1990s in my apartment in Greenville South Carolina.

I am thinking again that my memories, those "artificial and symbolic" musings from earlier in my behemoth blog, of Greenville South Carolina and First Federal, actually represent my theory they represent my day's off, my theory that my active conscious memory of the early 1990s represents about maybe only 20 days per year. All the other days of those years are still invisible to my conscious mind.

THE SUNDAYS

"Here's Where The Story Ends"

People I know, places I go
Make me feel tongue tied
I can see how, people look down
They're on the inside

Here's where the story ends

People I see, weary of me
Showing my good side
I can see how, people look down
I'm on the outside

Here's, where the story ends
Ooh here's, where the story ends

It's that little souvenir, of a terrible year
Which makes my eyes feel sore
Oh I never should have said, the books that you read
Were all I loved you for
It's that little souvenir, of a terrible year
Which makes me wonder why
And it's the memories of the shed, that make me turn red
Surprise, surprise, surprise

Crazy I know, places I go
Make me feel so tired
I can see how people look down
I'm on the outside

Here's, where the story ends
Ooh here's, where the story ends

It's that little souvenir, of a terrible year
Which makes my eyes feel sore
And who ever would've thought, the books that you brought
Were all I loved you for
Oh the devil in me said, go down to the shed
I know where I belong
But the only thing I ever really wanted to say
Was wrong, was wrong, was wrong

It's that little souvenir, of a colorful year
Which makes me smile inside
So I cynically, cynically say, the world is that way
Surprise, surprise, surprise, surprise, surprise

Here's, where the story ends
Ooh here's, where the story ends

There is also Millersylvania State Park where I completed all those marathons. I completed 5 down there in a year’s time, starting with the Christmas Marathon. I believe the first one was in December 2001 and the last one was the Christmas Marathon again in December 2002.

The Stand - The Complete & Uncut Edition

Chapter 38

George McDougall lived in Nyack, New York. He had been a teacher of high school mathematics, specializing in remedial work.

Now that everyone was gone, he still jogged. Every day. For hours. It was only when he was jogging, concentrating on nothing more than the thud of his tennis shoes on the sidewalk and the swing of his arms and his steady harsh respiration, that he lost that feeling of impending madness.
