Biological warfare

Biological warfare (BW) — also known as germ warfare — is the deliberate use of disease-causing biological agents such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, or biological toxins, to kill or incapacitate humans, animals or plants as an act of war. Biological weapons (often termed "bio-weapons" or "bio-agents") are living organisms or replicating entities (viruses) that reproduce or replicate within their host victims.

Biological weapons may be employed in various ways to gain a strategic or tactical advantage over an adversary, either by threat or by actual deployment.

LONG BEACH, Calif. —

Bill Gates set a conference abuzz when he opened a jar of mosquitoes onstage to make a point about malaria prevention.

"There's no reason only poor people should have the experience," the billionaire co-founder of Microsoft said at the TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) conference Wednesday in Long Beach.

Audience members including technology leaders laughed nervously as the insects swarmed across the auditorium. Gates assured them that the bugs were not carrying malaria.

Capt. Kirk: [to communicator] Kirk to Enterprise.

Scotty: Enterprise, Scott here, sir.

Capt. Kirk: [talking like a Chicago mobster] You got Krako on ice?

Scotty: Aye, he's here. Mad enough to chew neutronium, but behaving himself.

Capt. Kirk: OK, baby, cool him until I flag you.

Scotty: Flag me?

Capt. Kirk: [normal voice] Keep him there until I send for him.

[as mobster]

Capt. Kirk: We're gonna make some old-style phone calls from this locale. So you locate the man on the other end of the blower and give him a ride to this flop.

Scotty: What?

Capt. Kirk: [normal] Find the man on the other end of the phone, and transport him to these coordinates.

[as mobster]

Capt. Kirk: Can do, sweetheart?

Scotty: Can do, captain.

Episode No. Season 4, Episode 20

US airdate March 20, 2009

Galactica and a crew of volunteers undertake one last mission against the Cylons led by John Cavil, while destinies are fulfilled.

Adama orders Kara Thrace to make a blind jump, but Thrace thinks about the music her father played, the music that Hera wrote to her. Recalling the mathematical associations she tried to discern from the music, Thrace realizes the music works as a series of FTL coordinates.

She punches in the coordinates into the navigation computer and jumps the ship.

Saul notes that while vital systems are still online, Galactica's structural members--its back--are broken. The ship will never jump again. Wherever they are, they're stuck.

"Where have you taken us, Kara?" Roslin asks, as the scene changes to an exterior shot to show the battlestar flying over a gray, rocky moon.

But is not just a moon...Galactica has arrived at the moon of Earth...another Earth, this one with the continent of Africa in prominent view.

The coordinates that Thrace enters, 1123 / 6536 / 5321

12980 = 1123 + 6536 + 5321

From 3/4/1959 ( date hijacked from me:my birth date UK ) To 9/16/1994 ( date hijacked from me:premiere US film "Timecop" ) is 12980 days

Quotes

Archibald: All well and good. All well and good, to be sure. But what's to do? How does one occupy his time?

Beechcroft's Reflection: Too much of a good thing?

Archibald: I wouldn't say that.

Beechcroft's Reflection: But you're thinking it. Bored to death, aren't you?

Archibald: Well, let's just say that, let's just say that I am temporarily somewhat accessible to suggestions as to how to occupy my time.

Beechcroft's Reflection: Let's face it. You are bored to tears. Solitude is one thing but loneliness, loneliness is quite another.

Archibald: Loneliness nothing. I despise people. I loathe them. And I, Archibald Beechcroft, have done away with them. For good and all, mind you.

Beechcroft's Reflection: For good and all. Thought about any alternatives?

Archibald: Alternatives to what?

Beechcroft's Reflection: Alternatives to this. You're bored! You don't have idea one how to occupy your time. People are bad enough but inactivity is even worse. How about it?

Archibald: Oh, don't talk nonsense, please. I'm content. I'm honestly and truly content for the first time in my life. I've rid myself of the worst scourge there is. The populace.
