And then there was the time she broke into my apartment when I was sleeping. That was 91 I think, early on when we were dating. I was still living in Taylors, SC, nearby my job in Greenville. I remember I had been feeling very jumpy back then, I don't know why. I had a good job, I had a nice duplex apartment, it was a nice neighborhood. But I was worried about someone sneaking in while I was asleep. I had the doors rigged to make noise to wake me up. Apparantly she was able to pry the lock on the back door and I woke up with her standing next to me in my bed. The door trap had worked, but all it did was scare her, I didn't hear it because I had drank a lot of beers and passed out drunk.
It was actually after all these experiences that I decided on a better strategy to women. First, I was going to be a lot more selective about who I dated.

If I am a neurosurgeon, among my other qualifications, that would explain some artificial and symbolic memories I have of explaining to Ken Bennett that time in 1995 or 1996 how brain cells work. I was describing axions and dendrites and I think it started in response to something he said about memories. He said he believe that everyone retained every single detail about every thing they have seen through their eyes and I countered that couldn't be true, for one reason, because brain cells only live for about 25 years. I also feel that is a dumb notion about how all that information is stored in the memory but I can't remember how I know that. I went on to describe axions and dendrites at that point and how that those neurons form the brain.

I wonder if I actually interviewed for that temp job with Microsoft Charlotte in 1995. I was thinking yesterday about a conversation I had with a guy that worked in the lockbox and that bank where I maintained the check imaging and sorting machines. He was telling me that he had just or was about to graduate from college with a computer science degree. I was surprised that after all that education, he was just learning what was a Graphical User Interface. Anyway, I was telling him about my interview with Microsoft and that I figured out the answer to a tough question they gave me. Later I would watch the movie “Die Hard 3” and realize they must have got the question from that movie. There was the part with the water bottles.

Organized crime
Organized crime or criminal organizations are groups or operations run by criminals, most commonly for the purpose of generating a monetary profit. The Organized Crime Control Act (U.S., 1970) defines organized crime as "The unlawful activities of ... a highly organized, disciplined association...".
In order for a criminal organization to prosper, some degree of support is required from the society in which it lives. Thus, it is often necessary to corrupt some of its respected members, most commonly achieved through bribery, blackmail, and the establishment of symbiotic relationships with legitimate businesses. Judicial and police officers and legislators are especially targeted for control by organized crime via bribes.

A racket is an illegal business, usually run as part of organized crime. Engaging in a racket is called racketeering.
Several forms of racket exist. The best-known is the protection racket, in which criminals demand money from businesses in exchange for the service of "protection" against crimes that the racketeers themselves instigate if unpaid (see extortion). A second well known example is the numbers racket, a form of illegal lottery.
Traditionally, the word racket to describe a business is based on the example of the "protection racket" and indicates that the speaker believes that the business is making money by selling a solution to a problem that it created (or that it intentionally allows to continue to exist), specifically so that continuous purchases of the solution are always needed. Example: in a protection racket, a representative from the racket informs a storeowner that a fee of X dollars will be required every month for protection money, though the "protection" that is provided comes in the form of the racket itself not causing damage to the store or its employees.

Captain Video and His Video Rangers
Captain Video and His Video Rangers was an American science fiction television series. It was broadcast on the DuMont Television Network, and was the first series of its kind on American television. It aired between June 27, 1949 and April 1, 1955.
Set in the distant future, the series followed the adventures of a group of fighters for truth and justice, the Video Rangers, led by Captain Video. The Rangers operated from a secret base on a mountain top. Their uniforms resembled US Army surplus with thunderbolts sewn on.
The Captain had a teen-age companion who was known only as the Video Ranger. Captain Video received his orders from the Commissioner of Public Safety, whose responsibilities took in the entire solar system as well as human colonies on planets around other stars. Captain Video was the first adventure hero explicitly designed (by DuMont's idea-man Larry Menkin) for early live television. "I TOBOR" the robot was an important, semi-regular character on the program, and represents the first appearance of a robot in live televised science fiction
