I wonder why I "remember" that civilian tech rep we called Animal that worked with us sometimes on the Wainwright. I don't "remember" the names of the other civilian tech reps. I asked Animal to settle a debate with someone else, Molck I think, where I was telling him that electrical ground was not the same as a zero volt signal.

SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT

People are talkinn 'bout people
I hear them whisper, you won't believe it
They think we're lovers kept under covers
I just ignore it, but they keep saying
We laugh just a little too loud
We stand just a little too close
We stare just a little too long
Maybe they're seeing something we don't, Darlin'.
Let's give them something to talk about
Let's give them something to talk about
Let's give them something to talk about
How about love?
I feel so foolish, I never noticed
You'd act so nervous,
Could you be falling for me?
It took a rumour to make me wonder
Now I'm convinced I'm going under
Thinking 'bout you every day
Dreaming 'bout you every night
Hoping that you feel the same way
Now that we know it, let's really shoe it, Darlin'.
Let's give them something to talk about
Let's give them something to talk about
Let's give them something to talk about
How about love, love, love, love?
Let's give them something to talk about
A little mystery to figure out
Let's give them something to talk about
How about love, love, love, love?

These lyrics remind me of the Oingo Boingo songs that released about a year later and I wonder if that is something I did on purpose because I was almost killed on 5/9/1985. I always here those lyrics as "the poison summer" and that makes me think of when my wife was caring for me after I was injured on 5/9/1985 and then it is again in 1986 when I was missing in Africa. I am not certain whose relationship the song is supposed to refer to other than just the general popularity of songs about the loss of a loved one. And as I think of other details about that time period I wonder often whether it was my work that predicted my future or whether it was the Microsoft Terrorist Organization that used my work to shape their violence into my future. Which ever one it is that notion is the reason I am here right now at this very moment and why I have been here for over a decade.

Don Henley - The Boys of Summer lyrics

Nobody on the road
nobody on the beach.
I feel it in the air: The summer's out of reach.
Empty lake
empty streets
the sun goes down alone.
I'm driving by your house though I know you're not home.
But I can see you
your brown skin shining in the sun

You got your hair comb'd back and sunglasses on
baby.
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone.
I never will forget those nights
I wonder if it was a dream.
Remember how you made me crazy
remember how I made you scream
And I don't understand what happened to our love

But baby
I'm gonna get you back

I'm gonna show you what I'm made of
I can see you
your brown skin shining in the sun

I see you walking real slow and you're smiling at ev'ryone.
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone.
Out on the road today I saw a deadhead sticker on a cadillac.
A little voice inside my head said:
Don't look back
you can never look back.
I thought I knew what love was
what did I know?
Those days are gone forever
I should just let them go but:
I can see you
your brown skin shining in the sun

You got that top pulled down and that radio on
baby.
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone.
I can see you
your brown skin shining in the sun

You got your hair slick'd back and your wavarers on
baby.
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone.
