Read before those comments about "Neuromancer" in the mainstream-media: it's not "filmable" they bray
From what I have read so far that notion is completely ridiculous.
Everything I have read has been done before in other productions.
The descriptions I have read could be probably created by first-year art-students.
No, those people bleating about "unfilmable" are probably the same class of non-tech-savvy dim-wits that think their iPhone has photographic-film inside it. The Film Fairies exit the USB port at night when those iPhone dim-wits are asleep and transport over and back from a Fotomat kiosk booth in the parking-lot of a JC Penney shopping mall. Now they have "film" on their iPhone.
Those "unfilmable" dim-wits are not capable of understanding the story. All they hear are buzzwords they do not understand. They cannot grasp its "filmability" because it all comes down to the fact they just do not understand it.
"Neuromancer" on Appletv is probably going to be entertaining and probably very interesting.

Appletv has made some very good productions and there is not much else that I have found interesting in several years, produced for either screen.
Viewing again recently some of the episodes of "See" I was thinking that Alfre Woodward would be brilliant as "Mother Abagail"
If anyone ever finds an adaptation of Stephen King's "The Stand" that is finally a good adaption then it will probably have to come from Appletv. So if they are doing all this just for my attention then that's what I think. Still don't know what the hell everything else is about.
People in this present day probably don't understand what a "dead channel" looks like. Other than a black screen. That's about all you get from a digital-tuner.
While back, purchased a smaller screen digital-tv on Amazon. An Insignia label, features an installed Fire TV component I didn't really want. All I wanted was the broadcast antenna jack. Have a good antenna tv but wanted a smaller tv and the price was right. Used it for a couple days and then the squealing started and picture scrambled. All I can guess is that Fire TV component is crashing or something. Boxed it up and was going to return it. Nope. Must be taken directly to a UPS store and I don't have a car. Never considered it might be defective when I purchased it on Amazon. Put it in a storage closet, had another idea to check for resolving the problem, untried presently. Anyway, in this day and age, as far as I know, about the closest anyone can get to "tuned to a dead channel". Thought about going back to my notes from year 2017, other stuff will probably defer that examination.
Want to read more "Neuromancer", causes me more work and forces me to make more blog-posts here on my blog, burying all these genius observations of mine.

An adaptation of a revolutionary science-fiction book previously considered “unfilmable” finally has a trailer, promising fans “the next chapter”.
Apple TV’s Neuromancer is based on the 1984 cyberpunk classic by author William Gibson. Set in a near-future dystopia, the story follows a computer hacker enlisted into a crew by a powerful artificial intelligence and a traumatised former soldier to complete a high-stakes heist.
The first official trailer for the show was released at Comic-Con on Sunday (26 July), and it showed off what looks to be another cult hit for the streamer, as well as a release date of 22 January 2027.
British star Callum Turner takes centre stage in the neon-soaked trailer, in which his character Henry Case can be heard saying: ”I’m the best console man around – I steal data in cyberspace,” before being transported through a trippy digital matrix.
Ten episodes were ordered in February 2024 from showrunner Graham Roland, whose previous credits include cult hits Lost and Fringe, and director JD Dillard.
The complex nature of the experimental novel, which often confounds new readers, has led many to believe an adaptation would have been too challenging to pull off. But for those wondering if Gibson had approved it: the 78-year-old writer is on hand as executive producer and creative consultant.
There’ll be more eyes on Neuromancer than ever before, thanks to the casting of Turner, an actor whose profile has risen considerably in the last year. Turner recently married pop star Dua Lipa and is a hotly tipped contender to become the new James Bond.
He leads the series as computer hacker Case alongside rising star Briana Middleton, Mark Strong, Clémence Poésy, Emma Laird, Peter Sarsgaard and Dane DeHaan.
The initial teaser trailer, released earlier this month, didn’t give much away, but it set up the vibe of the ready-made cult hit. It shows a computer monitor emblazoned with the opening words of the novel: “The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.”
The teaser’s description enigmatically states: “42 years ago, William Gibson introduced the world to Neuromancer. Now, the next chapter is loading.”
This could mean that the series will be going beyond the pages of Gibson’s source material, which is part of the Stream trilogy. However, the plot description remains loyal to the book: “A hacker and an assassin are thrust into a web of high-stakes crime as they take aim at a corporate dynasty.”
Should the show become a success for the streamer, the other two novels in the series – Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive – could also be adapted.

Apple TV's Neuromancer finally has a release date, along with a fast-paced first look at the highly anticipated cyberpunk series.
As revealed during the Apple TV panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Neuromancer will come to the streaming service on Friday, January 22, 2027.
Showrunner and executive producer Graham Roland gave fans a few more details on what they can expect from the first-ever screen adaptation of William Gibson's genre-defining novel, explaining why now is the perfect time to bring it to life.
"42 years ago, this book felt like true science fiction," Roland said. "Gibson famously coined the term 'cyberspace' to describe a digital space where people in the book go to to escape and interact [with each other], and he did all that before the internet existed.
"He wrote about the collision of artificial intelligence and human intelligence before artificial intelligence existed. Now, we’re living in a world 40 years later where these things are a part of our everyday lives. It's an appropriate time to revisit the text, to put it in a new light now that these things are here."
Roland also shed some light on what it's been like working with Callum Turner, who plays the book's central character and resident console cowboy, Case. Notably, Roland said that Turner has a big love for Neuromancer, and confirmed that this series is focused on Case.
"He wrote about the collision of artificial intelligence and human intelligence before artificial intelligence existed. Now, we're living in a world where these things are part of our everyday lives."
"Everyone came with a deep love of the source material," he said. "He read the book, dove into his character. Case is an atypical protagonist. He's a criminal, rough around the edges, he’s a survivor. In the book, there's no mention of his family, he’s kind of an orphan, doing out of an instinct of survival, desperation. Callum threads that needle. He's able to play the dangerous part of Case, inhabit the humanity and charisma. One of the things that's very important is that this is Case’s story, you’re following him. The charisma needs to carry you for 10 episodes."
While Turner wasn't physically present at the Comic-Con panel, he did send a video message, which glitched out and eventually lead to a teaser of the show.
"We're building something special with Neuromancer," Turner said. "[Gibson] didn’t just give us cyberspace, he helped us define the entire cyperpunk genre. This is just your first access point."
The trailer, which is now live on YouTube, shows a good look at Briana Middleton as Molly with her mirror eyes and deadly fingernails that earn her the moniker 'razorgirl,' the cyberpunk setting of the story, and, of course, Mark Strong as Armitage. It's dark, gritty, and intense.
This is the latest big reveal for Neuromancer after Apple TV+ shared a first look at the series with a 25-second clip two weeks ago. In the clip, someone (presumably Case) pushes a button on a retro computer console. The camera then pans up to a TV screen, which displays the words 'Ashpool-1' and the opening line of Gibson's novel: "The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel."
Gibson himself is executive producer of the show alongside Roland, JD Dillard, and Jennifer Haley. Dillard directed the first three episodes of the series, two of which will premier on Apple TV starting January 22, 2027. Episodes drop weekly on Friday through March 19, 2027. There are ten episodes in all.
