Al Gore invents NASA.
So the whole thing goes that if I *do not* or *cannot* go backwards in time to deliver the message that you are doomed to Hell guaranteed then maybe you are redeemed.
That reasoning would follow that I am immortal for until at least after I have delivered the message from the future to the past.

I think deers represent anything I got up close and personal too. In that case, unlike a lot of others, the deer just stood there and looked at me. That means it was probably something stationary. The other targets had legs that they used as soon as they saw my gun up close. The squirrels, thinking of first impressions, represent distance targets, not unlike distant aircraft, that are small, fast, elusive.

That day I remember getting into the middle of a swamp with snakes dropping out of trees all around me must be from some battle. They were everywhere. I had seen plenty of snakes in my day, usally lying right in front of my path, but this one day was just insane. This one place I used to go squirrel, down in this heavily wooded creek in a valley was just crazy with snakes, but the squirrel hunting was the best around. I figured that was probably why the hunting was so good, because no one wanted to get in there with the snakes. Anyway, there at the end of that really bad day, I had to cross over this submerged wooden bridge. I couldn't even see the bridge because the water was so dark. I could just see myself dropping through the bridge into the water below, where it was writhing with snakes. The snakes represent either, or both, AAA flak or missiles. Marginally, there is some symbolism with Sidewinders, but these were cottonmouths. Maybe that is the distinction, they were just as deadly as Sidewinders, but were a different type.
There was good hunting in the front yard, they were red squirrels and I enjoyed those the most, but there wasn't many of them and that section of woods wasn't very expansive. In the back yard, with the creek and valley, there was a lot of room to explore, but there was only gray squirrels back there.
It was in the woods in front of the house that I figured out that if I swept away the leaves from a small area where my feet which be, I wouldn't have to wait as long for the red squirrels to start moving again. Before that, they always heard my feet rustling the leaves and wouldn't move.
Sometimes I would see a squirrel, gray I think, hopping around the tree in our front yard, but they usually stayed away.
We used to go to Sonic every day for lunch when I was in high school.

Space Station Funding Is Safe, Officials Say : Congress: Despite rumors of cuts, lawmaker and Clinton aide confirm that the President will seek full $2.25 billion for project during the next fiscal year.

WASHINGTON — Despite rampant rumors that the Clinton Administration plans dramatic cuts in NASA's space station program, a senior Texas congressman said Vice President Al Gore assured him Friday that the controversial project will be fully funded next year.
The announcement by Rep. Jack Brooks (R-Tex.), whose district includes the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Johnson Space Center, capped a day in which congressional and aerospace industry sources had said they were expecting severe cuts in the $30-billion program to build an orbiting space laboratory.
A highly placed official in the Clinton Administration confirmed Brooks' announcement, saying the President will ask Congress for $2.25 billion for the space station when he unveils his budget for the 1994 fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1. That is the full amount that NASA initially had sought. "Brooks' number is right," the source said.
Clinton was more equivocal when he was asked about the space station before a meeting with congressional leaders Friday afternoon. "Tune in Wednesday," he said, referring to his address to a joint session of Congress next week.
The future of the space station is crucial to California's beleaguered aerospace industry, which has more than $5 billion riding on the project.
California is home to two of the project's three prime contractors--McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Co. of Huntington Beach and the Rocketdyne Division of Rockwell International in Canoga Park--and about 60 subcontractors. Together the companies hold station contracts worth more than $5 billion and employ more than 4,200 workers involved in the project.
The space station's latest roller-coaster ride began last week, when Leon E. Panetta, director of the Office of Management and Budget and a longtime station opponent, suggested to Clinton that he terminate the program to help reduce the budget deficit. Both Clinton and Gore backed the project during the presidential campaign.
Panetta's move, which was instantly leaked to the press, touched off an intense lobbying effort by members of Congress who support the space station and have fought the station's critics on Capitol Hill for the last two years.
Aerospace industry sources insisted Friday that Panetta and NASA Administrator Daniel S. Goldin earlier this week worked out a plan to cut the 1994 budget for the space station to $1.3 billion, a funding level that would have crippled the program. Under the terms of the deal, station funding would not have risen above that level through the end of the decade.
Several industry sources said they believed that Goldin, appointed last year by former President George Bush, cooperated in Panetta's plan to cut station funding in an effort to keep his job under Clinton. Goldin was not available for comment Friday.
"It's manifestly not enough to put together the station they've been talking about," said John E. Pike, director of the space policy project for the Federation of American Scientists. "You can't build the station with that money."
However, Panetta apparently was overruled by Gore, who has championed the development of new American technology.
Cutting the space station budget to $1.3 billion would have forced NASA to dramatically reduce the space station's scientific capabilities and would have further delayed the project, according to independent space analysts and aerospace industry officials.
The station's stated mission is to conduct life-science and micro-gravity research--studying how humans react to long exposure to weightlessness and how industrial materials can be processed in space.
The latest approved plans for the orbiting laboratory call for two, 22-foot-long modules--one for living and one for experiments--to be suspended on a 300-foot metal truss about 200 miles above the Earth. Solar panels attached to each end of the truss would provide power to run the station.
The station would be launched, piece by piece, aboard a series of space shuttle flights beginning in November, 1995, and would be ready to accommodate a full crew of four astronauts by the year 2000.
That design would cost about $30 billion through the end of the decade, NASA has estimated. The General Accounting Office, however, has suggested that the figure would be $40 billion. The European Space Agency and space agencies in Japan and Canada have agreed to contribute $8 billion to the effort.

Archivist Gave Bush Control of Tapes, Will Run His Library

WASHINGTON — The archivist of the United States, who signed an Inauguration Day agreement that gives former President George Bush extensive control over White House computer tapes, announced Friday that he will run the Bush presidential library center.
Don W. Wilson said he will be leaving the National Archives on March 31 to become executive director of the George Bush Center at Texas A&M University. He was hired by Bush's son, George W. Bush, and William H. Mobley, president of Texas A&M, said Rene A. Henry, executive director of university relations at the school.
On Jan. 20, Wilson and Bush signed an document that permits "Bush or his designee" to review all of the material on the computer tapes before anyone is allowed access to it. The tapes are in the custody of the National Archives.
The White House had sought to destroy the tapes before a private group filed suit to block the move.
"George Bush shall retain exclusive legal control of all presidential information, and all derivative information in whatever form, contained on the materials," states the agreement, disclosed Friday by the National Security Archive. The non-profit organization filed the suit that led to a court order blocking destruction of the tapes.
The material on the tapes includes millions of electronic messages of the National Security Council on a host of subjects from the Ronald Reagan and Bush administrations--including the Iran-Contra affair.
The agreement Wilson and Bush signed "in effect overrides the Presidential Records Act and the Federal Records Act" governing access to White House records of former presidencies, said Tom Blanton, the private group's executive director.
Blanton said the agreement is "even worse" than Richard M. Nixon's 1974 arrangement with the General Services Administration, in which Nixon attempted to set up personal control over records of his tenure. Nixon's effort led to passage of the Presidential Records Act, which vested control of such material in the National Archives.
Regarding the Bush-Wilson agreement, "we see parallels with the Nixon agreement and we're concerned about it," said Page Miller, director of the National Coordinating Committee for the Promotion of History.
Wilson said the criticism is unfounded. He emphasized that under federal law, the President "must have a say" in who has access to the tapes, because some of that material is presidential records. There's "a mixture" of National Security Council records and presidential records on the tapes and "nobody can say for sure; you have to determine what is there," Wilson said in a telephone interview.

Some time later I was riding along about 15 miles per hour on a bicycle trail in Redmond, Washington, and as I passed between two people walking in the opposite and the guy on my right side leaned in and shouldered me as I passed by him. The impact was much too great for it to be an accident. The force of the impact knocked me upright, knocked my shoe out of it clipped pedal, and knocked my hand on the handlebar. Even with that impact, I still managed to avoid crashing although I did veer abruptly into the othe side of the lane which would have caused another cyclists to run into me if one had been about to pass me at the time which happened often along that straight stretch. I believe it was only my excellent bicycle-handling skill that kept me from crashing and that the person who shouldered me was deliberately trying to cause me to crash while I was traveling at a high-speed. I dropped my bicycle onto the other side of the bicycle trail and I turned around to see that the male who shouldered me was approaching me when my back was to him and I was about to stomp him into the pavement but he stopped walking just before the point I was going to use physical force to subdue him. I yelled at him for a few seconds and he did not make any further aggressive moves so I started thinking they might have staged that event around me because they had hidden cameras somewhere. The purpose would have simply to record me using physical force to subdue the aggressor without showing the video of him leaning in and shouldering me with the intent of inflicting on me serious bodily harm. There wasn't much else I could do and so, especially considering that I was then, as I am now, tasked with the primary duty of observing the criminal activity around me, so I continued riding my bicycle back to my apartment in Redmond and I considered filing a report at the Redmond city police department but I had already lost confidence in the local police force of the cities in King County after my car had been stolen in Bellevue in 2001. I filed a police report but found that 3 days later that the car was sitting on the lower level of the parking garage because the thieves could not get it started and the police had obviously not even gone down there to look around. Earlier I had caught an employee of the apartment complex using a key to unlock my apartment and to enter my apartment at a time when they did not think I would be in my apartment.

Persian Gulf War
Early on the morning of January 17, 1991, a massive U.S.-led air offensive hit Iraq's air defenses, moving swiftly on to its communications networks, weapons plants, oil refineries and more. The coalition effort, known as Operation Desert Storm, benefited from the latest military technology, including Stealth bombers, Cruise missiles, so-called "Smart" bombs with laser-guidance systems and infrared night-bombing equipment. The Iraqi air force was either destroyed early on or opted out of combat under the relentless attack, the objective of which was to win the war in the air and minimize combat on the ground as much as possible.

A few nights ago, I dreamed of being out on a two-lane highway. The pavement was nice and smooth and new-looking, perfect for long-distance bicycling. But in this dream, I was jogging, or maybe walking fast, I'm not sure. It was some kind of competition perhaps. I think the central element of the story was that I was ahead of something or somebody. The only other person I saw was my deceased step-brother. I was moving along the highway and had just climbed up a steep portion of the road that was a switchback section going up a hill. I was at some kind of plateau that then went along under the ridge of the hill. It looked sort of familar, with the uniform tree height telling me that it had probably been logged at one time. My step-brother was acting normal in this dream, as if he was still alive. But he was trying to catch up with me, I guess. I didn't feel like he was chasing me, but yet that seems to be an element of the story. At one point, he was talking to himself and I could hear him and he mentioned a name but I can't remember now what he said. In the last part, he was approaching a fire on the shoulder of the road that apparently I had started, some kind of camp fire. I recall that there was another person there, but I can't visualize that person, it is more of a presence. Not so much an apparition or anything like that, just an unidentified person. I remember thinking during the last part of the dream as I looked at the fire, which was still in sight, that I could use it to stay warm because I was feeling cold.

The Fireside Chats
President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who took office in early 1933, would become the only president in American history to be elected to four consecutive terms. He would lead his nation through two of the greatest crises in its history—the Great Depression of the 1930s and World War II (1939-45)—and would exponentially expand the role of the federal government through his New Deal reform program and its legacy. From March 1933 to June 1944, Roosevelt addressed the American people in some 30 speeches broadcast via radio, speaking on a variety of topics from banking to unemployment to fighting fascism in Europe. Millions of people found comfort and renewed confidence in these speeches, which became known as the “fireside chats.”
During the 1930s, well before the advent of television, some 90 percent of American households owned a radio. Seeing the potential of mass media to communicate directly and intimately with the public, Roosevelt would give around 30 total radio addresses from March 1933 to June 1944. The topics he spoke about ranged from domestic issues such as the economic policies of the New Deal, drought and unemployment, to Europe’s battle with fascism and American military progress in Europe and in the Pacific during World War II.

Roosevelt was not actually sitting beside a fireplace when he delivered the speeches, but behind a microphone-covered desk in the White House. Reporter Harry Butcher of CBS coined the term “fireside chat” in a press release before one of Roosevelt’s speeches on May 7, 1933. The name stuck, as it perfectly evoked the comforting intent behind Roosevelt’s words, as well as their informal, conversational tone. Roosevelt took care to use the simplest possible language, concrete examples and analogies in the fireside chats, so as to be clearly understood by the largest number of Americans. He began many of the nighttime chats with the greeting “My friends,” and referred to himself as “I” and the American people as “you” as if addressing his listeners directly and personally.

LAFORGE: This is going to sound pretty wild. Somehow, we've entered what seems to be a temporal causality loop. We think we're stuck in a particular fragment in time, and we've been repeating that same fragment over and over again.
TROI: Is this what's causing our déjà vu?
CRUSHER: Yes, but it's more than that. In déjà vu, you only think you're repeating events. We actually are.
LAFORGE: Our theory is this. Every time the loop begins again, everything resets itself, and starts all over. We don't remember anything that happened before, so each time through the loop, we think it's the first.

DATA: There is evidence of some sort of disaster aboard the Enterprise, severe enough that the Captain ordered all hands to abandon ship. I have isolated three segments of the recording that are crucial.

LAFORGE: Worf refers to a distortion. If this were a temporal distortion, and if we were close enough to it, it's possible that a large enough explosion might've ruptured the space-time continuum. We collided, exploded, then got stuck in this repeating loop of time.
PICARD: If you're right, perhaps we could escape the loop by avoiding the collision.
LAFORGE: That's our guess.
WORF: Maybe we should reverse course.
RIKER: For all we know, reversing course may be what leads us into the crash.
PICARD: No. We can't afford to start second guessing ourselves. We'll stay on this course until we have reason to change it. But let's do everything we can to avoid the collision.

In the foundations of mathematics, Russell's paradox (also known as Russell's antinomy), discovered by Bertrand Russell in 1901, showed that the naive set theory created by Georg Cantor leads to a contradiction. The same paradox had been discovered a year before by Ernst Zermelo but he did not publish the idea, which remained known only to Hilbert, Husserl and other members of the University of Göttingen.
According to naive set theory, any definable collection is a set. Let R be the set of all sets that are not members of themselves. If R is not a member of itself, then its definition dictates that it must contain itself, and if it contains itself, then it contradicts its own definition as the set of all sets that are not members of themselves. This contradiction is Russell's paradox.

Heinrich Focke, a German professor who created the Focke-Wulf airplane company, also began working on helicopters in the 1930s. Like Louis Bréguet, he performed research on the problems of control of rotary winged flight and built a scale model helicopter in 1932, before Bréguet flew his craft in 1933. But four years passed before Focke was to build a full-scale version of his model.
In 1936, Focke, in cooperation with another German named Gerd Achgelis, developed the Focke-Achgelis Fa 61 (often called the Focke-Wulf 61). The Fa 61 used the fuselage and engine of a training biplane known as the Focke-Wulf Stieglitz. The Stieglitz was a popular two-cockpit aircraft that had already earned the Focke-Wulf company an international reputation. Focke and Achgelis kept the open aft cockpit of the Stieglitz. They removed the wings and replaced them with two large three-bladed rotors mounted on tubular steel outriggers on either side of the fuselage. The outriggers were connected to the forward fuselage of the aircraft. This configuration made the Fa 61 look superficially like an autogyro with two rotors instead of one. But the airplane's propeller blades were shortened, and the propeller provided no power for forward flight as with an autogyro's forward propeller. However, the propeller still served as a cooling fan for the 160-horsepower (119-kilowatt) Siemens-Halske Sh14a radial engine, which powered the two rotors through a complicated system of gears and shafts.
Like Bréguet, Focke solved the torque problem by using two rotors turning in opposite directions. But the Fa 61's control system was much more robust. If the pilot pushed the control stick forward and backward, he could tilt the rotor discs forward and backward together, causing the aircraft to move in the desired direction. By moving the stick sideways, the pilot could increase the angle of the blades on one rotor and reduce it on the other to control the roll of the craft. The rudder pedals tilted the rotors forward and backward in opposite directions to control yaw. The Fa 61 had excellent stability and control and was capable of hovering, going straight up and down, and forward and backward.
The Fa 61 was registered D-EBVU and made its first free flight on June 26, 1936, piloted by the Focke-Achgelis test pilot, Ewald Rohlfs.
