Prowler

“Deep Impact” was in May 1998 and “Armageddon” was in July 1998. If my memories of that time are true, I was also stressed out about the environment at my apartment in Whitehall Estates around that time in 1998. I’ve written about those jets flying a lot over my apartment as they were landing at the Charlotte airport. I was talking with Tina Mason one day on my phone and the noise was so loud she couldn’t even hear me talking. They used to make all that noise when I was asleep too. I have written about a similar problem in Memphis when I lived at Lincoln On The Green. It is possible in Charlotte that was slowly slipping away and then one day I was gone. I found details about Kerry Burgess around me and I decided that was who I was. I was probably developing that identity as some kind of undercover identity as I routinely went undercover as an employee of the DIA. I must have been in the Navy Reserves as the time, I was thinking today, and that is why Laura Mason was telling me she was a Commander in the Navy Reserves and was an aircrewman, although some thought she was pilot, on the EA-6B Prowler.

That’s why Microsoft put Wally Simpson in there to work with me; they were warning me that Microsoft knew I was the former CO of the USS Cole. The Cole’s namesake had been a musician in the military and that was why Microsoft had Wally Simpson tell me he had a music degree. Microsoft did something similar earlier by assigning Laura Mason as my mentor. She told me she was a Commander in the USNR and a crewman on an EA-6 Prowler. Microsoft was trying to tell me they knew I was a Commander in the USN

The meeting with the seemingly annoyed group manager happened when I stated that I wanted to be a level 64. I was confused because Taverner had been talking to me about "big money" and I didn't understand why it hadn't happened yet. And I remembered that conversation between the three of us about a year later. Tavener had just shown me that "priceless" video and he was trying to get me to recant about my complaint. He was telling me that he was trying to get a job as a manager in another group and my complaint was obstructing his plans. He told me that all the people that would report to him in the new group were "like Sharon" and judging by the _expression on his face, that was supposed to be some kind of inducement to me, as in it would be favorable to me. But that made no sense, why the hell would I want to work with a group of Sharon's when one was enough? Then I realized he was saying they were level 64's and he would hire me into that group as a level 64 if I would recant. Coincidentally, it was something our director did about the levels in our group that reminds me of something else. When our Director decided to reveal all of our levels, and thus our salary ranges, in the Global Address List, it reminded me of the time when I worked for Molck and the insurance guy revealed my salary to my coworkers. I wonder if the Director of my group knew what had happened and wanted to add that kind of chaos into our group because he had a lot of overpaid deadwood at the higher levels. Sharon was also the one that told our Director that her name sounded like "big yellow tits." I don't think she like it very much when I said I was surprised she said that to him. That was early on after I moved into the group. I was sitting in the second cubicle I had been in on that floor, I thought of it as a "sky box"

I haven't had any more thoughts about Sarajevo, which seems unusual I thought today. Some possible explanations are that I wasn't in Sarajevo, I am not supposed to remember anything about Sarajevo, or I'm not ready to remember Sarajevo.

Pentagon Aide Quits; Warnings Ignored, He Says

By ELIZABETH BECKER and STEVEN LEE MYERS

Published: Thursday, October 26, 2000

A Pentagon intelligence analyst resigned one day after terrorists bombed the destroyer Cole in Yemen, protesting that his superiors had ignored his warnings of an imminent threat to American forces in the region, senators and defense officials said today.

The resignation of the analyst -- who monitored terrorist threats in the region for the Defense Intelligence Agency -- raised new questions on Capitol Hill about whether the Pentagon and intelligence agencies could have done more to avert the attack on the Cole, which killed 17 sailors and wounded 39 on Oct. 12.

The analyst, identified as Kie C. Fallis, had not warned of a specific threat against the Cole or of an attack in Yemen, defense officials said.

Rather, they said, he concluded from intelligence reports that there was a strong possibility of an attack and that military commanders had not done enough to protect American forces in the region.

Senior Pentagon officials testified today during House and Senate hearings that at times became contentious. And officials also disclosed that American intelligence agencies had issued two other warnings of a terrorist attack in the region -- one the day before the Cole was bombed, the second hours afterward.

The Central Intelligence Agency issued a general warning on Oct. 11 that an attack on ''U.S. interests and Jewish tourists'' in the region was likely, one senior government official said. The second warning, issued by the National Security Agency, was more specific, citing the possibility of an attack based on the movement of a suspected terrorist in Yemen, according to a senior defense official.

Lethal Weapon 4 (1998)

[while the "Human Tank" is bearing down on them]

Martin Riggs: Here's what we're gonna do! Take your clothes off!

Roger Murtaugh: What the hell for?

Martin Riggs: What for?

Roger Murtaugh: Yeah!

Martin Riggs: Okay, you run, Flame-O here turns and sees you in your undies, it distracts him - I know it'd distract me - and that's when I shoot!

Roger Murtaugh: Shoot what?

Martin Riggs: The valve on that napalm tank!

Roger Murtaugh: You're gonna hit that itty-bitty valve before he shoots me?

Martin Riggs: Maybe.

Roger Murtaugh: *Maybe*?

:04:41
Not now, Riggs.
Just hit the damn valve!

:04:43
Also, flap and make noises like a bird.

:04:46
Flap my arms? Why?

:04:48
It'll distract him more.
I need him to turn.

:04:52
-On 2!
-We always go on 3.

:04:53
No time for 3. 2!

:04:55
-What about 1?
-Okay. 1, 2, go!

:04:57
I don't want to die in my underwear!

:05:01
Why are you waiting?
Shoot the bastard!

:05:38
Riggs, you think that bird thing helped?

:05:42
I just wanted to see if you'd do it.

:05:47
Cute shorts.

:05:51
Go spit!

:05:54
I'll buy you a doughnut.

:05:56
Don't hug me when I'm naked.

:05:58
You're ashamed of your butt?

:32:00
Will you sit down?
We're dinosaurs headed for extinction.

:32:04
Speak for yourself.

:32:06
We're making way for the new police:

:32:08
Guys with guns and psychology degrees,
like Butters out there.

:32:17
Biter has a psychology degree?

:32:19
-More like a psycho degree.
-Times have got to change.

:32:22
I once got shot by a hot-rodder
with a zip gun.

:32:25
That's how far back I go.

:32:28
You wanted to see us?

:32:30
Some things don't change.

:32:32
-Here we go.
-The department lost its insurance.

:32:35
All the damage you've done,
they can't get a new one...

:32:38
...while you two still run around.

:32:42
They can't fire you either.

:32:44
So, they're promoting you.

:32:49
-Lieutenant!
-There's no open lieutenant spots.

:32:52
So the chief used his special privilege,
making you captains.

:32:57
-Better.
-Captain!

:32:59
Time was when this would send me over
the falls. I'm getting old.

:33:04
What do we do now?

:33:06
Captain shit!

:33:07
-Hang out.
-Take long lunches.

:33:10
Yell, "Riggs, Murtaugh,
I'm the captain. "

:33:13
"Chief's shitting bricks! "

:33:15
You finished?

:33:16
Can you stay out of trouble?

:33:19
Absolutely.

:33:21
-Captain Riggs!
-Captain Murtaugh!

:33:31
You want your badges?
Let me see those sergeant badges.

:33:35
Throw them over here.

:33:39
This is the most painful
experience of my life.

:33:42
-Now get out!
-Thank you, Captain.

:33:44
Thank you, Captain.

:33:47
Enough with the "Captain" shit!
Get out of here!

:33:50
After you, Captain, I insist!
"O Captain! My Captain! "

:33:54
-Captains outrageous!
-News travels fast.

:33:56
Get a break from real police work.
Play golf, tennis....

:34:00
They got brown rings
Around their noses

:34:04
Now that you're captains,
come up in the chopper.

:34:07
-Not for me.
-I'll take a rain check.

:34:09
-If you change your mind, call us.
-He's down-to-earth.

Rice and some fish to eat.
Lousy deal for 35 grand a head.

:17:16
Where'd they get that kind of money?

:17:19
Didn't. Got to work it off from
the snakeheads, the smugglers.

:17:23
-They sell them as cheap labor.
-Sell them?

:17:25
Like slaves.

These must be the lucky ones.

They'll claim asylum. Say they were
persecuted, like everybody else.

We'll send them packing.

so I push him.

:18:12
I knock him over.
We're in the water.

:18:15
I pull because he can't swim.
I got to save him.

:18:18
There's that kid.
What's his name? Bissel?

:18:21
-It's a food.
-Burger!

:18:24
No, Biscuits or something.

:18:26
He always kisses my ass,
gives me coffee and shit.

:18:29
Sergeant Riggs, Sergeant Murtaugh.
What are you doing here?

:18:32
-That's a long story.
-You're all wet!

:18:35
-You need a blanket?
-I'm fine.

:18:37
-Somebody get this man a blanket now!
-Yes, sir!

:18:41
-Get this body out of here.
-What do we got here?

:18:44
Step back, step back.

:18:48
Shit!

:18:49
He's dead.
He's fucking dead!

:18:52
-Shit!
-What?

:18:53
This is how he wanted
to come to America?

:18:56
Was he in the killing section?

:18:58
This guy's been shot four times!

:19:01
At close range, like he was executed!

:19:04
He was executed.

:19:05
By the crew.

:19:07
People get killed left, right
and center in this town!

:19:12
Now we import victims?

Gangbangers kill each other,
no problem!

occupational hazard!

:19:20
But just a normal guy?
What did he ever do to anybody?!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Sarajevo

Siege of Sarajevo

The Siege of Sarajevo is the longest siege of a capital city in the history of modern warfare. Serb forces of the Republika Srpska and the Yugoslav People's Army besieged Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from April 5, 1992 to February 29, 1996 during the Bosnian War.

After Bosnia and Herzegovina had declared independence from Yugoslavia, the Serbs, whose strategic goal was to create a new Serbian State of Republika Srpska (RS) that would include part of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, encircled Sarajevo with a siege force of 18,000 stationed in the surrounding hills, from which they assaulted the city with weapons that included artillery, mortars, tanks, anti-aircraft guns, heavy machine-guns, multiple rocket launchers, rocket-launched aircraft bombs, and sniper rifles. From May 2, 1992, the Serbs blockaded the city. The Bosnian government defence forces inside the besieged city were poorly equipped and unable to break the siege.

It is estimated that nearly 10,000 people were killed or went missing in the city, including over 1,500 children. An additional 56,000 people were wounded, including nearly 15,000 children. The 1991 census indicates that before the siege the city and its surrounding areas had a population of 525,980. There are estimates that prior to the siege the population in the city proper was 435,000.

Body of missing woman found in Burien

A Lynnwood-area woman who vanished five days before her 33rd birthday was found dead Monday in a wooded area of Burien.

Nicole Pietz was reported missing Jan. 29. Her body is believed to have been in the neighborhood, about two blocks west of South 144th Street and Des Moines Memorial Drive South, for at least a week
