Face of the Enemy
That 2008 film "The Day the Earth Stood Still" was fairly good.
But it was RUINED with the casting of some of the actors, notably Keanu Reeves.
I have never seen a good movie featuring Keanu Reeves.
Keanu Reeves has ruined every production that I have seen featuring him.
The Matrix might have been a good work but he RUINS it and now it's just a joke.
His casting as Klaatu is the greatest blunder ever in the history of cinema.
Casting Jennifer Connelly is the best presence I can think of in that production.
Kathy Bates is a solid actor. But her role, from the little I know of her public facade, real or phony, makes it seem cliche. Mainstream actors who try to cultivate a persona of anti-establishment, anti-government just make me think they're cowards. As with Yip-yap dogs and their owners, with their egotistical and over-inflated sense of importance, they just make a lot of noise when they're terrified by anything that moves.
John Cleese is another solid actor, but as Professor Barnhardt? That's just dumb and uninspired.
I would watch it more often if not for the ridiculous presence of Keanu Reeves and that stupid kid. I'll probably never watch again The Matrix for similar reason. Too stupid.
I was very entertained last night watching the first episode of Amazon Prime's "The Boys".
One reason I like it is because most of the actors are mostly unknown to me. And they deliver performances as good or better than the known actors, which are few. Karl Urban is a known actor and his performance is superb. Elizabeth Shue is a known actor and her performance meets expectations but she leaves me feeling disappointed overall. I have to wonder how much production value was lost because they had to pay for a name.
"Homelander" is possibly the best character of the production so far. Satire is effort wasted on the majority of the dim-wits out there. But I liked it. His hand gesture at the end of the first episode reveals to me the depth of his character.

50 years ago, NASA announced selection of The Group 7 astronauts, pilots transferred from the Manned Orbital Laboratory Program, a joint project of the U.S. Air Force & the National Reconnaissance Office. 50 Years Ago: NASA Group 7 Astronaut Selection
On Aug. 14, 1969, NASA announced the selection of seven new astronauts. The Group 7 astronauts were pilots transferred from the US Air Force’s Manned Orbital Laboratory (MOL) Program that was cancelled on June 10, 1969. The MOL was a joint project of the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) to obtain high-resolution photographic imagery of America’s 1960s Cold War adversaries. After the cancellation, NASA invited the younger (under 35) MOL pilots to join its astronaut corps at the Manned Spacecraft Center, now the Johnson Space Center in Houston. The selected pilots were:

In addition to the seven selected as astronauts, an eighth MOL pilot, Lt. Colonel Albert H. Crews, USAF, was assigned to MSC’s Flight Crew Operations Directorate. Prior to his MOL training, Crews was a pilot for the X-20 Dyna-Soar Program, an early USAF experimental lifting body vehicle cancelled in 1963.
The MOL Program had envisioned a series of 60-foot-long space stations in low polar Earth orbit, occupied by 2-man crews for 30 days at a time, launching and returning to Earth aboard modified Gemini-B capsules. Externally similar to NASA’s Gemini spacecraft, the MOL version’s major modification was a hatch cut into the heat shield that allowed the astronauts to access the laboratory that was located behind the spacecraft without the need for a spacewalk. While MOL astronauts would carry out a variety of experiments, the primary payload intended to fly in the laboratory was a telescope with imaging systems for military reconnaissance. The imaging system was codenamed Dorian and carried the Keyhole KH-10 designation. Its primary mirror was 72 inches in diameter, designed to provide high resolution images of targets of military interest. To reach their polar orbits, MOLs would launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base (AFB) in California atop Titan-IIIM rockets. Construction of Space Launch Complex-6 (SLC-6) there had begun to accommodate that launch vehicle but was suspended when the program was cancelled. The pad was later reconfigured to launch Space Shuttles on planned polar orbit missions.

Today, I am signing into law, S. 202, which designates the newly-completed Federal Judiciary Building in Washington, D.C. as the "Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building." It is fitting that a building which houses the work of more than 2000 judicial employees be named after a man who dedicated more than six decades of his life to public service in the judicial arena. Leading the legal arm of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Thurgood Marshall worked tirelessly for more than a quarter century to dismantle racial segregation in all manner of human endeavor. His twenty-nine victories before the U.S. Supreme Court serve as a reminder to the American people of our individual potential to have a dramatic impact in our service to others.
Marshall brought the same fervent commitment to social equality to his work as an appeals court judge, the Solicitor General of the United States and Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. His insistent vision for America is a legacy which I hope we will cherish and strive to fulfill.

The namesake for Lassen might have rescued me and the pilot of an F-4 I was flying with in Vietnam after we were shot down by enemy fire. Or maybe I was flying that helicopter that rescued the downed pilots. I don’t know. I find some details about his experiences that make me wonder if I was part of all that. If the ship DDG-82 was planned to reflect my commissioning from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1982, then it stands to reason the namesake of USS Lassen, a Medal Of Honor recipient, would also connect to me somehow. I noted that Lieutenant Lassen was awarded the Medal Of Honor for heroism observed on 6/19/68, during the Vietnam War.

As for space shuttle flight STS-82, which I believe was scheduled to point to my graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1982, the commander of STS-82 was born 11/14/56.
The pilot of STS-82 was born 3/24/57 and I have calculated the connection of his birth to 9/2/65 and 5/28/82. The date 92/65 was what I think was my first day at Princeton University. The date 5/28/82, was the offical graduation of U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1982, or so I assume.

Railroad tracks
There are railroad tracks, according to the map, near the point on the map that is labeled Stampede Pass.
Today I have been thinking that a post-1994 version of Kerry Burgess arrived to talk to Tom Reagan just an hour before the flight and told him that he must make the flight because there were extraterrestrials in space nearby that were monitoring the flight and the flight itself was of no consequence to the them but the event was more of a handshaking event among my group and that group. Tom Reagan had encountered that Future Kerry Burgess before, in the year 1987, and the Future Kerry Burgess showed him, with amusement, his drivers license identification card that was from Washington State and that was issued after the year 2000. That detail was especially interesting because Tom Reagan materialized on the summit of Stampede Pass and he showed up well over one day after the crash had occurred although to him the transition was almost instantaneous and even his wristwatch still showed the time relative to before he materialized after the crash. Before he left for the flight, Tom Reagan took a intravenous blood sample from the hand of that future Kerry Burgess and sent it courier to a special laboratory where he was conducting research and during the flight one of the scientists that works at the lab for Tom made an emergency call to Tom while he was the pilot of the L-1011 Stargazer aircraft and told him, not knowing where the blood came from, that Tom had found the key to the vaccine they were trying to create. The aircraft was destroyed a short while later because saboteurs had infected the aircraft's computer with a computer virus.
