James Otto Richardson (18 September 1878 – 2 May 1974) was an admiral in the United States Navy who served from 1902 to 1947. As Commander in Chief, United States Fleet (CinCUS), he protested against the redeployment of the Pacific portion of the fleet forward to Pearl Harbor, believing that a forward defense was neither practical nor useful, and that the Pacific Fleet would be the logical first target in the event of war with Japan, vulnerable to air and torpedo attacks. He was subsequently relieved of command in February 1941.

James Otto Richardson was born in Paris, Texas, on 18 September 1878. He entered the U.S. Naval Academy in 1898 and graduated with the Class of 1902.
In June 1939, Richardson went back to sea as Commander, Battle Force, U.S. Fleet, with the temporary rank of Admiral. Beginning in January 1940, he was Commander in Chief, U.S. Fleet, holding that position during a stressful period marked by the fleet's forward deployment to Pearl Harbor. Relieved by Admiral Husband E. Kimmel in February 1941
Admiral James O. Richardson died on 2 May 1974.

I always suspected something like this was the case. The new issue of Texas Monthly delves into the long neglected story of George W. Bush less than stellar military career in the Texas Air National Guard. The Texas Monthly lays out the surprisingly complicated mechanizations that led to the Junior Bush landing this plumb spot in the T.A.N.G.
That George W. got special treatment at a time when draftees were likely to end up slogging through the jungles of Viet Nam shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to anyone who knows how America routinely gives special treatment to the offspring of the 1%.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. - Scientists gathered Sunday to plan how to find and divert killer asteroids before they hit Earth with the force of thousands of atom bombs, a calamity that would doom much life on the planet.
While the chances of a major asteroid striking the Earth are extremely small, so many people would be killed that any individual's chances of dying this way are mathematically greater than perishing in an airline crash, researchers say.
"One of these objects could be a real threat to our long-term existence on Earth," said planetary scientist Eleanor Helin of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. "It only takes one event to wipe us out."
"We're talking about almost unbelievable widespread death and destruction," with half Earth's people starving after the planet's climate and farming are disrupted by the impact of a mile-wide asteroid, said David Morrison, space science chief at NASA's Ames Research Center in Mountain View.
Helin and Morrison were among more than 160 planetary scientists, astronomers and engineers who registered for the International Conference on Near-Earth Asteroids, which ends Wednesday.
The meeting is sponsored by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and The Planetary Society, a non-profit group with 120,000 members worldwide.

Project Gutenberg, in full Project Gutenberg Literary Archive Foundation, a nonprofit organization (since 2000) that maintains an electronic library of public domain works that have been digitized, or converted into e-books, by volunteers and archived for download from the organization’s Web site: www.gutenberg.org. The project got its start on July 4, 1971, when Michael Hart, a student at the University of Illinois, began typing the U.S. Declaration of Independence into the school’s computer system for distribution free of charge. He soon followed with the works of William Shakespeare and the Bible. Thus began Project Gutenberg, the oldest digital library. The copyright on any book published before 1923 expired no more than 75 years later, at which point it entered the public domain. Any work published between 1923 and 1977 retains its copyright for 95 years. The copyright on any work published in later years expires 70 years after the author’s death or 95 years after publication in the case of a corporate work.
Over the next 20 years, Hart transcribed about 100 books before the spread of the Internet allowed for a vast international expansion in interest. The project grew to include hundreds and then thousands of volunteers around the world, and Hart took on more administrative duties, including fund-raising to maintain a Web site. The number of public works scanned (beginning in the 1990s) or transcribed steadily grew: to 1,000 (1997), 10,000 (2003), 20,000 (2006), and 40,000 (2011). In addition, dozens of “mirror” Web sites were created around the world, where the e-books were also stored and available for downloading. All works are available in plain text, using simple ASCII characters with limited typography and no images, though versions in HTML (hypertext markup language) or Adobe Systems Incorporated’s PDF (portable document format) exist for some works.

I remember when this miniseries premiered on television in December 2003. I was stressed out about people following me but I enjoyed my work as an Application Development Consultant in Microsoft Premier Support. I had a very interesting project going on around that time that I hoped would lead to a job in the Visual Basic product team and I was using Microsoft.Net with Visual Basic to convert Microsoft Word documents to a different format. The customer had a lot of files to convert and there was a lot of detail associated with my efforts to automate the conversion process. The software I crafted would convert as a batch the documents and would not require users to do any manual conversions, which was a feature the customer requested.

I was thinking for an extended period over several days about how the portal opened into the basement of that house, which wasn't really a basement unless you looked at the house from the front because the house was on a sharp incline and from the front of the house it appeared to be a two-story house but if you walked down the slope to the back of the house then the basement appears as the bottom of a three-story house and the basement level opens onto a patio under the deck that is attached to the main level above the bottom level.

Over the course of several days, I had a line of extended thought that sounds very similar to this. It was when I was writing about that "Cylon Projection" one time recently. I was imagining that a portal not unlike the "Monolith" would appear and when I stepped through it I would be transported to that house I "remember" owning in Greer, SC. I couldn't leave the house because it was the only physical location in that dimension and I was physically transported from this environment to that environment in some other dimension and I would have to step back through the portal to work here in this environment but it was a good diversion where I could relax and even eat better food on a regular basis.

I'm not sure how long this has been rattling around in my brain, but I just now realized an old memory has been trying to surface, but not sure for how. When it first became a clear thought again, I remembered a time when I commented to someone about the moon landing. I've never been a moon-landing-conspiracist, so it seems like a stupid memory, in that I felt stupid for thinking that the moon landing was a hoax. Then I just remembered telling Theda why I thought the moon-landing-conspiracies were stupid. But anyway, I have the memory of disputing the moon landing because I asked someone about how they could have photographed Armstrong taking that first step, because who set up the camera to capture it? In my memory, I would think that was a stupid question because it was most likely remotely deployed. Now, today, I am thinking that is not so much a memory, as it is an important. It is a question to make me think. It could mean that I was the one to set up that camera and record Armstrong take the first step of a man on the moon, recorded after a boy stepped onto the moon and set up the camera.

The plot element in "Midway," I think, of "Captain Garth" and his son, represents me, in terms of my youth, but also in terms of my experience.
I know I haven't watched that movie in the past 10 years, but if I am not mistaken, "Captain Garth" is killed and his son is wounded by a fire in his fighter plane, but I think he survived.
Charleton Heston was probably selected specifically for that role, as some kind of connection to me, probably for the same reason as for "Planet of the Apes."

I have been thinking that I told Phoebe, in 1975, when she wanted to know what was wrong with me, that I was afraid I wasn't going to graduate because I was failing a class and I was feeling down. I have been thinking that is based on how I was failing to successfully navigate through the simulations we had created for the comet.
I saw all these people and I knew they were going to die if I failed.

I wonder I was a captive in the so-called Hanoi Hilton during the time between Apollo 16 and Apollo 17.
I have been thinking that the reason for one of the Apollo 17 Challenger astronauts holding onto the flag has something to do with my captivity in Hoa Loa Prison.
The though also occurs to me that I was a captive there more than one time. I was going in there by letting myself get captured by the North Vietnamese so I could provide medical treatments to the POW's. I have been thinking that is the basis for the scene in "Midway" where Charlton Heston wants the other officer to look into something for him and he indicates it is for his son. I have been thinking that John McCain's father asked me to let myself get captured so I could treat his son, who was in poor physical condition and was not getting proper medical treatment.

Mixed in here somewhere could be details that only they would recognize, assuming that it has something to do with me going into the Hoa Loa Prison by letting myself get captured. I was thinking about that after that "Lost" episode with the person wearing an oxygen mask after jumping out of a low-flying helicopter. I have been thinking I did that so the enemy would think I had been shot down while flying a supersonic fighter jet and so they would throw me in with the group John McCain was in.

Eugene Cernan at the beginning of this television movie talking about how he called the Moon "home" for 3 days and then he went on to say that it was science-fiction, which reminds me of something I heard from him in the recent "When We Left The Earth" episodes. Other dialog establishes how one astronauts father was born around the time of the Wright Brothers and could barely believe that his son went to the Moon, while that astronauts 5-year-old son had no problem with believing it. Was Cernan refering to how he was an actor and also a qualified astronaut who was employed by NASA to protect classified information on a matter critical to national security and that does not necessarily represent his personal experience? Or is he an actor and astronaut who is pretending to be the actor and astronaut who did not make the space flights he is known to have made?
One reason is that there were people who actually wanted to see the comet hit the Earth and to let the Earth burn and that is why they had me in their gunsights so often. I would have been taken off the program after more than one attempt to kill me but the deciders decided I was probably the only person who had a chance of succeeding in my mission to divert the comet and I needed all the training time in space that I could get.
Then after my mission was successful and I returned to Earth, I decided to remain in the military

They trained me well to gain attention to detail in the roles I was posing as.

The astronaut on the left is 21 units tall and the astronaut on the right is 25 units tall. The left shadow is 23 units and the right shadow is 32 units at least, but I wonder if the terrain is affecting those shadows.
