"And you're gonna regret"

I had my mind scrambled and I have had to live away from Phoebe for over 9 years just to catch these terrorists in control of Microsoft-Corbis. Do you really think I am just fucking around with you people?

Maybe you can explain why you have such an interest in my activities while I am an official federal undercover operative.

070516-N-0975R-001 JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (May 16, 2007) - The legendary Charlie Daniels Band performs a free concert aboard Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C. This concert, viewed by several thousand service members and their families, was a tribute to the local Wounded Warriors Barracks located at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and was part of the “Spirit of America Tour.” U.S. Navy photo (RELEASED)

In my artificial and symbolic memory, I can "remember" that I wanted to be a drummer during elementary school, but I never did it. I can "remember" playing on a drum set at a church we went to, but I was never very good at it. I "remember" a kid named Larry House who was a drummer during elementary school and I "remember" him carrying around his drum set.

I have a very clear "memory" of me sitting in a hotel room in Portland, Maine, with a guitar, while I was wearing a plaid shirt with a t-shirt underneath that proclaimed "ass kicking Southern rock." I was there in that hotel room while the USS Taylor FFG-50 was in drydock in the Bath, Maine, shipyards.

Charles Edward "Charlie" Daniels (born October 28, 1936 in Wilmington, North Carolina) is an American musician famous for his contributions to Country, Southern Rock, and Jazz music.

Daniels, a talented singer, guitarist, and fiddler, began writing and performing in the 1950s. In 1964, Daniels co-wrote "It Hurts Me", a song which Elvis Presley recorded. He worked as a Nashville session musician, often for producer Bob Johnston, including playing on three Bob Dylan albums during 1969 and 1970, and recordings by Johnny Cash and Leonard Cohen. Daniels recorded his first solo album, Charlie Daniels, in 1971 (see 1971 in country music). His first hit, the novelty song "Uneasy Rider", was from his 1972 second album, Honey in the Rock, and reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 1974, Daniels organized the first in a series of Volunteer Jam concerts based in or around Nashville, Tennessee. Except for a three-year gap in the late 1980s, these jams have continued ever since.

In 1975, he had a top 30 hit as leader of the Charlie Daniels Band with the Southern Rock self-identification anthem "The South's Gonna Do It Again". "Long Haired Country Boy" was also a minor hit in that year.

"
The Devil Went Down to Georgia" is a country song written and performed by the Charlie Daniels Band and released on their 1979 [1] album Million Mile Reflections. The song is written in the key of D minor. Vassar Clements originally wrote the melody an octave lower, in a tune called "Lonesome Fiddle Blues". Charlie Daniels Band moved it up an octave and put words to it. The song's verses are closer to being spoken rather than sung. Satan's and Johnny's performances are played as instrumental bridges during the song.

Song:
The Devil Went Down to Georgia Lyrics

The devil went down to Georgia
He was lookin' for a soul to steal
He was in a bind
'Cause he was way behind
And he was willin' to make a deal

When he came upon this young man
Sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot
And the devil jumped
Up on a hickory stump
And said boy let me tell you what

I guess you didn't know it
but I'm a fiddle player too
And if you care to take a dare I'll make a bet with you

Now you play a pretty good fiddle, boy
But give the devil his due
I'll bet a fiddle of gold
Against your soul
'Cause I think I'm better than you

The boy said my name's Johnny
And it might be a sin
But I'll take your bet
And you're gonna regret
'Cause I'm the best there's ever been

Johnny rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard
Cause hell's broke loose in Georgia and the devil deals the cards
And if you win you get this shiny fiddle made of gold
But if you lose the devil gets your soul.

The devil opened up his case
And he said I'll start this show
And fire flew from his fingertips
As he rosined up his bow

Then he pulled the bow across the strings
And it made a evil hiss
And a band of demons joined in
And it sounded something like this

[Instrumental]

When the devil finished
Johnny said well you're pretty good old son
Just sit right in that chair right there
And let me show you how it's done

He played Fire on the Mountain
Run boys, run
The devil's in the House of the Rising Sun
Chicken in a bread pan picken' out dough
Granny does your dog bite
No child, no

[Instrumental]

The devil bowed his head
Because he knew that he'd been beat
And he laid that golden fiddle
On the ground at Johnny's feet

Johnny said, Devil just come on back
If you ever wanna try again
I done told you once you son of a bitch
I'm the best there's ever been

And he played Fire on the Mountain
Run boys, run
The devil's in the House of the Rising Sun
Chicken in a bread pan picken' out dough
Granny does your dog bite
No child, no

[Instrumental to end]
