Adrien-Marie Legendre
French mathematician
Adrien-Marie Legendre, (born September 18, 1752, Paris, France—died January 10, 1833, Paris), French mathematician whose distinguished work on elliptic integrals provided basic analytic tools for mathematical physics.
Little is known about Legendre’s early life except that his family wealth allowed him to study physics and mathematics, beginning in 1770, at the Collège Mazarin (Collège des Quatre-Nations) in Paris and that, at least until the French Revolution, he did not have to work. Nevertheless, Legendre taught mathematics at the École Militaire in Paris from 1775 to 1780. In 1782 he won a prize offered by the Berlin Academy of Sciences for his effort to “determine the curve described by cannonballs and bombs, taking into consideration the resistance of air

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA
Our History
Founded in 1801, then-South Carolina College flourished pre-Civil War, overcame postwar struggles, was rechartered in 1906 as a university and transformed itself as a national institution in the 20th and 21st centuries.
South Carolina College, est. 1801
The Palmetto State established South Carolina College — the precursor to the University of South Carolina — on Dec. 19, 1801, as part of an effort to unite South Carolinians in the wake of the American Revolution. South Carolina's leaders saw the new college as a way to promote "the good order and harmony" of the state.

I might have created that image on the cover of this album. I have specific "memories" of manipulating a photo to create something like that image.

There's a booklet in the cover of the CD of Duran Duran "Greatest." On one of the pages is someone that almost looks like me. He doesn't look exactly like me but I think all my "memories" of what I looked like at that age are actually of another person.

The are sound effects in Duran Duran's "New Moon On Monday" that seems familiar. One part sounds like mortar rounds exploding in the distance. After I thought of that, I started thinking that some other sounds sound like machine gun fire, but not quite. The mortar round effect seems more realistic while the machine gun fire isn't as realistic.
JOURNAL ARCHIVE: 04/09/07 10:24 AM
There is one "thumping" sound at 3 minutes, 4 seconds, that seems the most realistic.
JOURNAL ARCHIVE: 04/09/07 10:24 AM
Could those sound effects be from recordings I made during the Falklands War? I even hear what sounds like jets streaking over head. The machine gun was probably heavily modified so it would be so recognizable.

I wonder if this song could represent my thoughts of being in ground combat while the Moon is in the overhead sky, reminding me I was once out there on its surface, and wondering about the point of this fight.

Well, I finally gave up trying to find a reference in my offline journal I am not even certain I ever made.
Perhaps 'irony' is how I value the images I capture now from a cheap camera I didn't want to purchase back then, those years of 2007 and 2008 and into 2009.
I sat there many hours on the roof-top deck in the evenings at The Vermont in downtown Seattle and I remember very well the day the US Navy Flight Demonstration Team was practicing over Seattle.
One day I was up there and a woman I doubtfully half-suspected was a zombie commented about the one Blue Angels jet "never" flew that close over our location. I saw the pilot clearly pass by us. I commented to her something about how I was going back below because of something about getting sunburned, out there in the bright sunlight.
Checking just now the Seafair website the Blue Angels fly over in August so I am guessing that day on the rooftop deck of The Vermont there just as The Space Needle towered over us was in August 2008. I might have recorded that in my journal but I really have no idea.
