A determined Soviet attack was under way, two regiments of MiG-23 interceptors rocketing through the sky toward them. The on-board controllers were calling for help. (a) Charges and Specifications.— Charges and specifications against an accused in a military commission under this chapter shall be signed by a person subject to chapter 47 of this title under oath before a commissioned officer of the armed forces authorized to administer oaths and shall state—

In addition to those song lyrics this morning, I do remember a scene from one of my dreams. I was in a house, I didn't recognize it but it was really fancy and I guess I didn't recognize it because I had never lived in any place like it, or something like that. I was moving across the floor passing a staircase and I had a blanket over me, with an opening at the front so I could see where I was going. As I was moving towards a hallway, a pair of feet appeared in front of me. I think it was my mother. I was trying to make it to the hallway because I was hunting a deer, which made no sense because I was inside, and the hallway gave me a perfect shot to a deer that was at the other end of the hallway. I don't remember what my mother said, if anything, but sometime around that point, I remember someone telling me I was clever. I don't remember anything else happening in the dream after that.

Antlers, Oklahoma
Antlers is a city in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma. The population was 2,552 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Pushmataha County.
Antlers was given its name due to the presence of large antlers, or the horns of bucks, nailed to nearby trees, ostensibly to mark the site of the spring. Its vitality caused a United States Post Office to be established at Antlers, Indian Territory on August 26, 1887. According to early settler—and probably first businessman—Colonel Victor M. Locke, Jr., a hunter was encamped at the site of the spring at present-day Antlers early one autumn and killed a “magnificent buck.” He nailed its antlers on a tree by the spring as a challenge to other hunters, who followed suit. Railroad officials later designated their new station stop as “Antlers” in recognition of this prominent local landmark.
American settlers from the United States lived in Antlers and surrounding areas at the pleasure and discretion of the Choctaw government. It afforded them no protections or government services of any kind, and during the 1890s the U.S. government acted to provide a minimal level of support. It established Recording Districts throughout all Five Civilized Tribes of the Indian Territory. Antlers became Record Town of Recording District #24, which covered almost all of present-day Pushmataha, Choctaw and McCurtain counties. American citizens living in this area now had the rudiments of a justice system available.
This 1905 map shows Recording District #24, one of several established in the Indian Territory during the 1890s by the Federal Government to provide a justice system for white residents. Antlers was judicial seat, and hosted a U.S. Court. District #24 extended all the way to the Arkansas border.To support the needs of a Record Town, a United States Court was established at Antlers. A large wooden courthouse was built to accommodate the justices, lawyers and courtroom facilities necessary, and Antlers became home to a small government outpost. During the waning days of the Indian Territory the Republican Party was in power in Washington, D.C., so the justices, sheriffs, deputies, and court clerks were all Republican. Local residents, being from former Confederate States, were almost all Democrats.
In order to prepare for Oklahoma’s statehood the U.S. Government surveyed and plotted every town of significance. Antlers was surveyed in 1901 and a townsite of 182 acres (0.74 km2) was mapped. Once the area was included in a state, residents could establish formal ownership of their homes and property.

The bombing in Oklahoma City was an attack on innocent children and defenseless citizens. It was an act of cowardice, and it was evil. The United States will not tolerate it. And I will not allow the people of this country to be intimidated by evil cowards.
I have met with our team, which we assembled to deal with this bombing. And I have determined to take the following steps to assure the strongest response to this situation:
First, I have deployed a crisis management team under the leadership of the FBI, working with the Department of Justice, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, military and local authorities. We are sending the world's finest investigators to solve these murders.
Second, I have declared an emergency in Oklahoma City. And at my direction, James Lee Witt, the Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, is now on his way there to make sure we do everything we can to help the people of Oklahoma deal with the tragedy.
Third, we are taking every precaution to reassure and to protect people who work in or live near other Federal facilities.
Let there be no room for doubt: We will find the people who did this. When we do, justice will be swift, certain, and severe. These people are killers, and they must be treated like killers.

You see, no one is carrying out my orders. These Al Qaeda forces that are in control of the United States military were going to destroy Seattle Washington with United States federal military weapons and then make that act appear in the mainstream media to have been ordered personally by me. But my orders are not being carried out because those orders have been prevented by person or persons. And since my orders are not being followed then what is the point of trying to make it seem that I was the one who personally ordered the attack? Nobody is doing anything I tell them to. Unless that is to cause some personal harm to my person. That is the only way my orders will be followed. Only if it is something that can cause some kind of harm to me personally and that will provide protection to the Al Qaeda forces, such as Robert Gates, that remain infested in the United States federal government.

WASHINGTON - The Air Force said Friday it would punish 70 airmen involved in the accidental, cross-country flight of a nuclear-armed B-52 bomber following an investigation that found widespread disregard for the rules on handling such munitions.
"There has been an erosion of adherence to weapons-handling standards at Minot Air Force Base and Barksdale Air Force Base," said Maj. Gen. Richard Newton, the Air Force deputy chief of staff for operations.
Newton was announcing the results of a six-week probe into the Aug. 29-30 incident in which the B-52 was inadvertently armed with six nuclear-tipped cruise missiles and flown from Minot in North Dakota to Barksdale in Louisiana without anyone noticing the mistake for more than a day.
The missiles were supposed to be taken to Louisiana, but the warheads were supposed to have been removed beforehand.
A main reason for the error was that crews had decided not to follow a complex schedule under which the status of the missiles is tracked while they are disarmed, loaded, moved and so on, one official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the record.
The airmen replaced the schedule with their own "informal" system, he said, though he didn't say why they did that or how long they had been doing it their own way.
"This was an unacceptable mistake and a clear deviation from our exacting standards," Air Force Secretary Michael W. Wynne said at a Pentagon press conference with Newton. "We hold ourselves accountable to the American people and want to ensure proper corrective action has been taken."
Newton said the flight in question resulted from an "unprecedented string of procedural errors," beginning with a failure by airmen to conduct a required inspection of the missiles before they were loaded aboard the B-52 bomber at Minot. The crew flying the plane was unaware nuclear warheads were on its wing, though it wasn't explained what role they played in the mistake.
Highest among those to be punished are four officers who were relieved this week of their commands, including the 5th Bomb Wing commander at Minot - Col. Bruce Emig, who also has been the base commander since June.
In addition, the wing has been "decertified from its wartime mission," Newton said.
Some 65 airmen have been decertified from handling nuclear weapons. The certification process looks at a person's psychological profile, any medications they are taking and other factors in determining a person's reliability to handle weapons.
The weapon involved was the Advanced Cruise Missile, a "stealth" weapon developed in the 1980s with the ability to evade detection by Soviet radar. The Air Force said in March that it had decided to retire the Advanced Cruise Missile fleet soon.

(a) Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully makes or conveys false reports or false statements with intent to interfere with the operation or success of the military or naval forces of the United States or to promote the success of its enemies; or Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully causes or attempts to cause insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty, in the military or naval forces of the United States, or willfully obstructs the recruiting or enlistment service of the United States, to the injury of the service or the United States, or attempts to do so— Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Hope faded Thursday of finding 11 missing offshore workers alive as the sun set on a second day of searching and the massive drilling rig that exploded into flames late Tuesday night sank into the Gulf of Mexico.
With the fire doused and the rig submerged, the Coast Guard launched a sweeping effort to clean up petroleum spewed into the water and seal off a well at the sea floor that may have still been leaking oil.
As it did, investigations began and questions continued to swirl about the cause of the accident at the Deepwater Horizon, a half-billion-dollar rig owned and operated by Swiss-based Transocean that was under lease to BP.

"Since there is a possibility that an imposter is using Oswald's birth certificate," Hoover wrote, "any current information the Department of State may have concerning this subject will be appreciated."
Argentina demanded that Israel return Adolf Eichmann, and then asked for reparations for Eichmann's seizure by Mossad agents in Buenos Aires. On August 2, the dispute was resolved by Israel keeping Eichmann, but acknowledging that Argentina's fundamental rights had been infringed upon.

Political decoy
A political decoy is a person employed to impersonate a politician, in order to draw attention away from the real person or to take risks on their behalf. This can also apply to military figures, or civilians impersonated for political/espionage purposes.
The political decoy is an individual who has been selected because of their strong physical resemblance to the person they are impersonating. This resemblance can be strengthened by plastic surgery. Often, such decoys are trained to speak and behave like their 'target'.

Impersonation of Oswald has featured in various John F. Kennedy conspiracy theories for decades, based on Oswald's apparent use of aliases and conflicting eyewitness accounts of Oswald's behaviour. The first such claim was made in Professor Richard Popkins' The Second Oswald, published in 1964.
Some conspiracy theorists cite an alleged Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) memo dated June 3, 1960, from J. Edgar Hoover, stating that "there is a possibility that an imposter is using Oswald's birth certificate."
In 2004, conspiracy theorist John Armstrong published a book entitled Harvey and Lee, which claimed to have identified a Lee Harvey Oswald double who had impersonated Oswald as part of an intelligence operation. Armstrong bases his claims on photographs which appear to show discrepancies in Oswald's physique and facial features. Armstrong cites contradictory eyewitness testimony from the Warren Report, placing Oswald in two different locations at the same time.
Armstrong has given lectures on his theory for years; however his Harvey and Lee theory lacks acceptance even among other conspiracy theorists.

Though Hoover denied any prior knowledge of Oswald or Ruby to the commission, the bureau had relationships with both men. In fact, "it later emerged that the FBI had no fewer than nine contacts with Jack Ruby, long before the assassination. He was even listed in the FBI files as a P.C.I. - Potential Criminal Informant." Ruby grew up in Chicago where he began working as a teenager for organized crime. He later traveled to Cuba on behalf of mob interests. Ruby knew major crime figures throughout the country, prominent Dallas businessmen, and many Dallas police officers.
On June 3, 1960, when Lee Oswald was living in the Soviet Union, Hoover advised the State Department, "There is a possibility that an impostor is using Oswald's birth certificate." When Oswald returned from Russia in 1962, the FBI monitored his activities. Despite Oswald's ostensible pro-Castro activities in New Orleans in 1963, he shared an office with a rabidly ant-Castro former FBI agent, Guy Bannister, a friend of Hoover's, who assured his secretary that Oswald "is with us." Bannister's right-wing associate, David Ferrie, also worked for New Orleans crime boss Carlos Marcello. Ferrie's library card was found in Oswald's pocket when he was arrested, but the FBI investigation of Ferrie was perfunctory and swiftly concluded.
Hoover helped Johnson obscure the facts of the Kennedy assassination in order to rescue both of their careers. It was not the first time - or the last - that Hoover used his power to protect Lyndon Johnson. Hoover intended to remain FBI director beyond his mandatory retirement age of seventy in 1965. Only the president could waive that requirement. Hoover had enough blackmail material on Johnson's extramarital affairs and corrupt financial dealings to control him.

In early June, Mr. B, who rarely came out of his office, walked over to my desk and handed me a folder.
"Patrick, this FBI memo just came to our attention. We thought you should see it as soon as possible."
Before I could say anything, he turned and walked back toward his office.
The folder was non-descript - it had no markings of any kind on it. Inside was a single typed page - a memorandum from the Director of the FBI dated June 3, 1960 regarding Lee Harvey Oswald. The memo was only a few lines, but it contained an ominous warning.
Open-mouthed, I read the following: "Since there is a possibility that an impostor is using (Lee Harvey) Oswald's birth certificate, any current information the Department of State may have concerning subject will be appreciated. (signed) J. Edgar Hoover."
Someone was using the identity, Lee Harvey Oswald, in the United States? What in the hell was going on? I reread the memo - it was clear - someone in the country was using the name Lee Harvey Oswald. I could feel the sweat rolling down my back as I tried to make sense of the Hoover memo.
A.J. Hidell was safely ensconced behind the Iron Curtain. I had switched the identities myself. This didn't make any sense. Had the Russians discovered our ruse? Were they screwing with us? Had Ozzie decided to unilaterally resurrect his prior life and forsake the new identity we had constructed for him?
I call in a few favors and found out an FBI agent by the name of John W. Fain had interviewed Lee's mother, Marguerite Oswald, in April. She had confided her suspicion that someone else was posing as her son. Since Lee Oswald had defected to the USSR from a high security position involved with the U-2 program, her suspicions were duly noted and passed on up the chain to where Hoover ultimately learned of the issue. I couldn't ascertain if Hoover suspected something more complex, or if he was simply passing on a worried mother's concerns about her missing traitor of a son.
Rather than risk exposing the truth behind Operation Cocoon, I decided to let the matter drop and hoped it didn't turn into something bigger down the road.

Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance is a memoir by United States President Barack Obama. It was first published in July 1995 as he was preparing to launch his political career, five years after being elected the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review in 1990.
Obama's March 2004 U.S. Senate Democratic primary victory in Illinois led to the book’s re-publication in August 2004, two weeks after his July keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention (DNC). The 2004 edition included a new preface by Obama and his DNC keynote address.
