GE's ex-chief to write book with paramour
Jack Welch, the former chairman of General Electric, Tuesday sold the world rights for a how-to business manual, called Winning, to HarperCollins for an estimated $4 million, the New York Times reported.
Suzy Wetlaufer, Welch's fiancee and a former editor of the Harvard Business Review, will help him write the book. "We have a lot going on," Welch said. "We've got my greasy fingernails and her brains."
Wetlaufer and Welch became romantically involved when she interviewed him for the Harvard Business Review. Their relationship resulted in Wetlaufer's resigning as editor and became an issue in his subsequent divorce. The two were engaged recently and plan to marry before the book comes out early next year.
